The Old Station Nursery Montessori Maidstone is a carefully designed setting in the heart of the town, providing a positive and warm environment that encourages children to develop a lifelong love for learning. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, prioritising each child's growth and development in a supportive, engaging space where they can learn and thrive.
The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for every child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, inspired by the Montessori approach, that foster meaningful connections between children and the world around them and equip them with valuable skills and a deeper understanding of the cooking process.
The nursery has five spacious rooms allowing for free flow throughout the space. The Caterpillar Room is designed for babies to explore at their own pace, with Key Carers supporting individual routines and child-led activities. The Ducklings Room is ideal for children who are more confident, offering a mix of structured and child-led activities in a large open space.
The Lambs Room is for Pre-School aged children, where they can develop their skills in a free-flow garden space and enjoy fun arts and crafts and messy play. The large outdoor area includes a climbing frame, sand and water play and a Maths hut for Pre-School, providing opportunities for children to learn about nature and the world around them.
Alongside the support of a qualified, passionate and child-centred team, children at The Old Station Nursery Montessori Maidstone will grow and develop under the best of care.

It is such a lovely nursery and wonderful staff. My daughter has been there since she was a little baby and she will be graduating soon and she absolutely loves it. She has made so many friends and I am so grateful for all the hard work that goes into her care.

Amazing staff, very kind and understanding, they're always there when you need anything and really friendly, my little one loves it there! My little one has only been there a short time but has already learnt a lot. I would highly recommend the nursery.

Our 3 year old twins started to attend the Townsend Montessori Nursery when they were one during the pandemic. All the staff has always been very supportive and welcoming. The kids had been encouraged from the beginning to be independent. The boys love going to nursery. They do plenty of nice activities and they send us pictures regularly to show us our kids milestones. They also love going outside and playing in "the big garden" every day. I would choose Townsend Montessori again and I strongly recommend it.

Lovely staff, my child is well looked after and always has so much fun at nursery. Meals are varied each day and from week to week. Good location.
So good that I have sent both my children at different times

Very happy with the care my daughter receives. Friendly staff, lots of activities planned daily, nutritious food. My daughter settled quickly at this nursery and is always happy and chatty when I pick her up. Staff keen to help and support.

My child is comfortable with every member of staff in the building. The staff make the nursery welcoming, they are very hard-working and are a lovely team. This nursery is the best nursery my child has gone to and I wouldn’t recommend any other nursery.

Great staff and a friendly atmosphere, all three of my girls have learnt so much and they have all been happy there. I do sometimes feel that the food is very samey but it is always a good healthy meal. No issues whatsoever.

Very experienced staff, always happy to help. Can see they are very caring and always have lots of activities and events to help the children learn. Even activities that are based on individual children's interests, which is a nice bonus.

My daughter is absolutely thrilled attending the nursery on a daily basis. I get regular updates on her development and participation in various learning activities. The Nursery staff are very welcoming and caring. I would highly recommend this nursery to other parents.
