The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.
The nursery has five spacious rooms allowing for free flow throughout the space. The Caterpillar Room is perfect for babies to explore at their own pace, with Key Carers supporting their individual routines and child-led activities. The Ducklings Room is ideal for children who are more confident, offering a mix of structured and child-led activities in a large open space.
The Lambs Room is for Pre-School aged children, where they can develop their skills in a free-flow garden space and enjoy fun arts and crafts and messy play. The large outdoor area includes a climbing frame, sand and water play and a Maths hut for Pre-School, providing opportunities for children to learn about nature and the world around them.

I would highly recommend this setting to anybody looking for affordable but excellent childcare in Maidstone. I contacted the nursery in a panic when our childcare fell through and was able to view and secure a space for my son quickly. We haven't been at the nursery long but he has settled very...
I would highly recommend this setting to anybody looking for affordable but excellent childcare in Maidstone. I contacted the nursery in a panic when our childcare fell through and was able to view and secure a space for my son quickly. We haven't been at the nursery long but he has settled very well, the staff are lovely and he regularly talks about his key worker at home. The meals offered are fantastic and have him eating things he wouldn't dream of trying at home. They are accommodating when our schedules change due to a temporarily long commute and my son spends most of the evening excitedly telling us about his day. This is the fourth setting we have used due to relocations and so far, is the best service we have received.

Communication has been an issue at times, with the new app not working and some newsletters and general information being missed, but anything relating to my child has been communicated well.

My experience with the nursery is that the staff are polite and friendly. They put the child’s needs first. My daughter graduated last year and had an amazing time there. She was so quiet and shy not talking to people now she has confidence, plays with everyone and has loads of friends in her new school. This year my son started there and he loves it coming home telling me what he learned.

All the staff are very friendly and extremely welcoming and I feel at ease that my daughter is in very safe hands. I will definitely be sending my next baby there!

We have sent our three children to Townsend Montessori Nursery over the last 3 years. We couldn’t be more positive - it’s a fantastic nursery with wonderful staff. The children are always well entertained with fantastic activities to help them learn and play. At the end of the day our kids come home happy and chatting about the things that happened to them that day.
Having visited a number of nurseries in Maidstone we feel strongly that it was the best choice.

This could be such an amazing nursery if it were managed properly. Constant poor communication from management and from some staff over the last 2 years. A handful of the staff are really lovely and do a great job. I’ve overheard other parents in the room up complaining about issues with communication too so I doubt I’ll let my child continue at this nursery for much longer.
The latest parent app they now use is a step backwards from the old app too, can no longer message the rooms directly anymore creating even more communication issues, missed events and emails not passed over to the rooms the children are in. Emails in general often ignored. Such a shame. I've voiced my concerns many times and keep giving this nursery chances to improve but overall it’s just full of continual disappointment.

Our 3 year old twins started to attend the Townsend Montessori Nursery when they were one during the pandemic. All the staff has always been very supportive and welcoming. The kids had been encouraged from the beginning to be independent. The boys love going to nursery. They do plenty of nice activities and they send us pictures regularly to show us our kids milestones. They also love going outside and playing in "the big garden" every day. I would choose Townsend Montessori again and I strongly recommend it.

Great staff and a friendly atmosphere, all three of my girls have learnt so much and they have all been happy there. I do sometimes feel that the food is very samey but it is always a good healthy meal. No issues whatsoever.
