Townsend Montessori Nursery Margate is a welcoming and homely setting, located in the picturesque coastal town of Margate. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.
The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.
Inside, the three rooms are thoughtfully designed and equipped with age-appropriate resources to support children's development. Outside, there is a large, secure garden that provides ample space for children to play, explore and learn, offering a sand and water play area, a climbing frame, trikes and open spaces to run around.
The youngest children begin their journey in the Lion Cubs Room on the ground floor, where their Key Carer follows their individual routines and plans fun activities for them to enjoy throughout the day. As they grow older, they progress to the Monkey's Room, where they are encouraged to make independent choices and select their own resources.
In the Tigers Room, Pre-School children develop school readiness skills and can participate in various extra-curricular activities such as rugby, football, dance and yoga to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

The teachers at the nursery are incredible. They are so kind, thoughtful, caring and inspiring towards my daughter. The two years my daughter has been present at the nursery has changed her life. She loves being there and I could not ask for a better learning environment.

The teachers at the nursery are incredible. They are so kind, thoughtful, caring and inspiring towards my daughter. The two years my daughter has been present at the nursery has changed her life. She loves being there and I could not ask for a better learning environment.
Although the new owners have changed some of the systems and I don’t feel they are parent friendly. Which is a shame when the in-house staff are so amazing.

Before Old Station Road took over, I recommend it to everyone. However, that is no longer the case. We were told that it would be a slow transition over to the new system and changing company. However, it wasn't. You have taken away term time, you dictate what sessions. We are paying customers, why...
Before Old Station Road took over, I recommend it to everyone. However, that is no longer the case. We were told that it would be a slow transition over to the new system and changing company. However, it wasn't. You have taken away term time, you dictate what sessions. We are paying customers, why should I have to pay until 6 when I pay this company thousands with both my children. Why do we have to pay for bank Holidays now? Not even open. And the new app is rubbish. Don't see any pictures of children doing activities just the set-up. The staff are incredible. And it's heartbreaking to see this once wonderful nursery just being ripped apart. The staff are the only reason I am still there! Don't even get me started on the price rising when it and only just been done under previous management a month before the change. And quite frankly how the company treats their staff I also find disgusting! Management rating is not based on the Manager in Margate, more the actual managing company The Old Station Nursery Group.

I find the nursery great, there is brilliant communication from the staff and they seem to really care about my daughter's well-being. She is very happy there and I like that it is a smaller space with not too many children per room.

The nursery have been great, my son is 3 months and is starting nursery. I didn't want to send him so young. But the staff have been amazing and made him settle in very well and I am happy with how they take care of them too.

Both of my sons have been to this nursery and have absolutely enjoyed every minute. The staff communicate effectively and are just a pleasure to be around, the environment is always clean and provides a happy and friendly atmosphere. My children thrive and have learnt so much with the help from all the staff at the nursery. My youngest started during covid and their procedures were to a fantastic standard. My youngest who is still currently at the nursery comes home smiling and happy about his day. They really do go above and beyond to give your children the best in their development in preparation for school.

I feel that my child is well cared for and is encouraged to take part in all of the activities. All the staff are very helpful and know my child's needs very well. The staff ensure that all communication is handed over in a timely manner and is easy to understand.

The nursery are fantastic! Both my children now attend the nursery and the team are great and nurturing to them both! they share many photos of what the children have been up to and its nice to regularly see what they're doing during the time they are there! Highly recommend this nursery!

My son has been in this nursery for the last 10 months and I cannot fault it. He has learnt so much since starting and has made many lovely connections with the staff and other children. We always get a very warm welcome on drop off and collection and the app is always updated on what they've been up to that day. Going to the recent parents' evening was lovely as we got to see how at home our son feels in his room there. My son loves the nursery, thanks to all the lovely staff!

I am passionate about giving children the best start in their early education by providing them with a fun and stimulating environment. This allows them to thrive in their abilities and ensures that they have access to enriching experiences to equip them with an understanding of the world around them.
