Townsend Montessori Nursery Margate is a welcoming and homely setting, located in the picturesque coastal town of Margate. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Inside, the three rooms are thoughtfully designed and equipped with age-appropriate resources to support children's development. Outside, there is a large, secure garden that provides ample space for children to play, explore and learn, offering a sand and water play area, a climbing frame, trikes and open spaces to run around.

The youngest children begin their journey in the Lion Cubs Room on the ground floor, where their Key Carer follows their individual routines and plans fun activities for them to enjoy throughout the day. As they grow older, they progress to the Monkey's Room, where they are encouraged to make independent choices and select their own resources.

In the Tigers Room, Pre-School children develop school readiness skills and can participate in various extra-curricular activities such as rugby, football, dance and yoga to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

The nursery are fantastic! Both my children now attend the nursery and the team are great and nurturing to them both! they share many photos of what the children have been up to and its nice to regularly see what they're doing during the time they are there! Highly recommend this nursery!

My son has been in this nursery for the last 10 months and I cannot fault it. He has learnt so much since starting and has made many lovely connections with the staff and other children. We always get a very warm welcome on drop off and collection and the app is always updated on what they've been up
to that day. Going to the recent parents' evening was lovely as we got to see how at home our son feels in his room there. My son loves the nursery, thanks to all the lovely staff!

My son went to this nursery and did not manage to settle in. The nursery is crowded with small indoor/outdoor space, nursery staff was friendly but too focused on updating the online platform. I was not sure if children's development activities take place or not, we were never sent home any drawings
or other work.

Hi! I'm Terri, the Nursery Manager at Townsend Montessori Nursery Maidstone. I am also qualified for Advanced NVQ Level 3.

I am passionate about giving children the best start in their early education by providing them with a fun and stimulating environment. This allows them to thrive in their abilities and ensures that they have access to enriching experiences to equip them with an understanding of the world around them. The whole team and I here at Margate reflect this passion and vision within the everyday practice to ensure the ethos is thoroughly embedded throughout the nursery and that all children and families are given the best experience during their time here.
