We now have two children at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village and they have both absolutely loved being there. A huge part of that is down to the staff, their care for the kids and the environment they create for them. The settling in process is really flexible, supporting the needs of the child and the parent, as a result our kids adapted really well to the new routine and the staff. Throughout the challenges of lockdown, the communication with parents was clear, regular and the process for getting the kids back to nursery was managed really well. Considering the circumstances, the staff have remained positive, patient and the kids are really happy to be there, which is all you want as a parent. It will be a sad day when they leave to head off to school!
Our son has been at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village for nearly three years. He is extremely happy there. They have been amazingly reliable and safe throughout the pandemic. We appreciate their regular updates of his daily activities, which sound like great fun and his developmental progress. Would definitely recommend.
Our son has been at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village for about eighteen months and really enjoys his days there. The day always seems full and fun, he loves the outdoor space and learning with his friends. Our son seems to be developing really well, his vocabulary is very strong as is his recognition of letters, numbers and phonetics. We are really pleased with his progress in these areas. He eats a nice and varied diet and is always happy when we pick him up. I don't think you can ask for much more.
Our son has been in the baby room since October. The settling in process was amazing and made us feel really confident about leaving him there. He has gone from being quite apprehensive about going to nursery, to now walking into the room without even saying goodbye. He also clearly loves the staff there and babbles about them at home. The way Covid-19 restrictions has been handled has been exceptional.
Our daughter has been at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village since she was eleven months and is now nearing her third birthday and moving into the preschool room. She has really thrived at nursery and is a very happy and social little girl. We cannot thank the nursery staff enough for all their care and support through the past year of uncertainty with Covid-19. After the March lockdown last year our daughter could not wait to get back with her friends. As parents we were nervous that all the change with masks, that it could be unsettling but the staff have been brilliant. We immediately noticed the increase in conversation and language after she returned to nursery from being at home with us. She loves the variety of activities that the staff teach at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village and her counting and alphabet always surprises us. The food is very varied and our daughter loves trying new foods. Drop off and pick up are an absolute joy when we see the big smile on her face and know she is very happy.
We have had a challenging introduction to nursery thanks to the pandemic which fell just as our son was starting, but also my wife has suffered from severe post natal depression and struggled with the entire process which transferred to anxiety for both. Everyone at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village has been fantastic and patient for us. Especially our son and he is now barely saying goodbye as he goes in the morning and is just enjoying his time at nursery, which is all we want. He is also noticeably developing and while I'm not aware of all the activities myself, he is starting to ask to do them at home which says it all.
Our daughter has been very happy at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village for eighteen months now. I was particularly impressed with the settling in process that ensured that she was fully settled and happy to go into nursery before she started properly. Everything is handled professionally and we have been really happy with the way they have handled the extra issues created by Covid-19. It’s well organised, the activities are varied and the children are happy.
My daughter began in the baby room at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village, she was only fifteen months. Although it was so difficult to leave her to go back to work, the staff were amazing and did all they could to help with the transition and make my daughter as comfortable as possible. Having an assigned staff member really helped, along with the regular updates and pictures throughout the day via the nursery web app. I can't fault Little Bear's Nursery in East Village at all, my daughters development came on in leaps and bounds when she started and she really responded to the routine of meals and nap times. In fact, it helped us to mirror this at home, something which we'd found difficult before. We moved her up to the next room at two years old and she hasn't looked back, she loves the activities, interaction and the friendships she's made, which are so cute to see. She no longer cries when I drop her off and she's in no rush to leave when I arrive to collect her. Big thumbs up!
Really love how much my child has grown, learnt and developed since being at this nursery. My daughter has formed a close bond with many of the staff and looks forward to going every day. They support her fussy behaviour with patience and understanding and I love seeing the updates and photos every day online.
Little Bear's Nursery in East Village has been amazing with providing childcare for my children since they opened in 2014. My daughter is currently in the one to two age room and she is absolutely loving it. They provide detailed childcare services with impeccable customer service. Their staff are polite, friendly and always welcoming. Their communication both verbally and via email is highly rated as I feel I'm being carried along with what is going on. Their monthly newsletters are consistent and always detailed and exciting. During this pandemic, they have been very supportive. I trust the staff with my daughter as they have never let me down.
My four year old girl joined Little Bear's Nursery in East Village seven months ago and she is really enjoying being there. Learning activities are outstanding and as she is going to reception soon, I’m glad she’s getting prepared. The staff is very friendly and caring. It is very important for me to leave my child in good hands, knowing that they are taking care of her.
The team at Little Bear's Nursery in East Village are absolutely amazing! I put one hundred percent trust in the way they look after my daughter. The activities, games and meals they provide are of excellent standards and I think that it’s great that they constantly keep us up to date with what our daughter is doing throughout the day.
We’re delighted with the care our two children have received at Little Bear’s Nursery in East Village. The carers work hard to plan engaging activities for the children, which support them to meet developmental milestones. The atmosphere is warm, caring and high levels of staff retention means that the carers really know my child and are able to meet his needs on a personalised level. High levels of professionalism mean that mealtimes, naps and nappy changes are always logged so I can see whether my child is likely to be tired or hungry at home. I have nothing but admiration for the hard work staff have put in during the Covid-19 pandemic. This has meant that they have maintained a warm and caring atmosphere whilst keeping my child safe. They are really on the front line. Thank you and well done!
Very responsive, supportive and accommodating staff. My child loves going to nursery and playing with his friends. He is learning really fast there, eats his vegetables and comes home saying “please” and “thank you” and sings new songs learnt at nursery. We get regular updates throughout the days and really appreciate the periodic assessments about development milestones.
We have been delighted with the care provided for our son at Little Bears and we feel very lucky that he attends. Despite being in the middle of a pandemic, the staff did a wonderful job to arrange settling in when he was six months old. We were able to observe him during sessions over a two week period before he attended for full days on his own. It is fantastic that milk, food and nappies are all included because it means there is no hassle in the morning or at the end of the day. The staff are so loving and arrange lots of activities to keep the children busy. They are committed to supporting our son's development and helped us to wean him, when he wouldn't eat food at home and are now trying really hard to practise his walking. We love the crafts he comes home with and the fun themed days that feature every month. The updates via an app are fantastic, it's great when I'm at work and an update or a photo of my baby in action pops up on my phone. We really couldn't ask for more!
Our two children attend Little Bears, one in the baby room and one in the preschool room – they both love it there so much that we barely even get a goodbye in the morning, their coats are on and they are off. The staff are really kind and every day the children do something fun and creative, celebrating cultural events, cooking and painting. It’s a lovely creative setting with a great outside space.
My little son has only recently joined however we are extremely impressed with the array of activities they put on, the standard of food, how they structure each day, the general cleanliness and environment but most of all, the care and attention they show my son. I would highly recommend this nursery.
I have been so impressed with Little Bear's. My daughter has settled in so well, despite only attending the nursery once a week. I can see she has made special relationships with all the carers already. They obviously care very much about each child. They chat with me for a while when I collect my daughter and give me an update. I also get written updates. Just generally so impressed. She has come home singing songs I haven’t heard before, she is eating better, she loves being creative. I am sure this is all because of her time at Little Bear's.
My daughter has attended the 3-5 room, after attending the 0-2 and 2-3 rooms at Little Bear's East Village (LBEV). We think the overall provision of childcare is good and our daughter has been quite happy to attend. She has been happy with her key workers in each of the room and whom she has developed good relationships with. We also have a very good relationship with the management. She is quite shy but has become increasingly engaged. While we wish there more natural outdoor play area/natural lighting in the earlier rooms we recognise this is largely infrastructural. Also, we think the ratio of pupils to staff is relatively high (but are assured by management this is Ofsted/London in line) and there are unfortunately no field trips. My daughter attended a school abroad for a few months (with a lower pupils/staff ratio) and we are familiar with Swedish daycare system and have seen other nurseries around in London, which is the basis for comparison.
The time on the waiting list was 1 year for both. Our son got started without stress and he was welcome and made comfortable from the very beginning. The transition from mid-group (2 to 3 y.o.) to pre-school was a bit of a struggle though, still, the environment, the safety and care and educational facilities were never lacking and he graduated successfully last summer.
Little sister joined in a year later. The prices for kindergarten are quite steep (from my perspective as an expat) but luckily there are discounts for a second child.
Once again, the care and development curve that we observed since she joined East Village was very good.
The administration and the staff have been very accommodating so we are very thankful to the whole team for that. The territory and facilities are very modern and safe.
