Kids Planet Blackrod offers flexible day care for children aged between 3 months and 5 years old and is conveniently located with good access to public transport.

The nursery is set in a beautiful, historic building with lots of bright open space, perfect for children to play and socialise whilst also providing quieter areas for the younger visitors or children who enjoy calmer activities.

Staff are experienced and qualified, understanding that the transition to a nursery, and later on to school, can be a difficult time for children and families. They strive to work collaboratively with them, making the process as easy and as fun as it can possibly be, giving families the peace of mind that their child is in the best possible hands during their time at the nursery.

The nursery is open from 7am-6pm, making it ideal for working families.

My son started Kids Planet Blackrod in December 2025 and he absolutely loves his time in nursery. The girls in the baby room go above and beyond for myself and my son and I have huge amounts of trust in them. We have always had a lovely welcome, a brilliant and thorough hand over on every pick up and
the communication is brilliant. He's currently in the process of moving up rooms which has been done professionally and to fit my son's needs. The app is absolutely wonderful and updated well throughout the day. The manager is so kind and attentive and always very accommodating. I have no complaints and only positive feedback for this nursery.

My little boy has been coming to Kids Planet Blackrod since around July 2024. There has been no issues here at the nursery since he began and he's settled well here, the staff are very loving and nurturing towards him.


They are very supportive of him when he does have his bad days and give him endless

cuddles to help him settle. They have also helped in weaning him off his milk during the day which has been a massive help with his eating during the day too.


Highly recommend this nursery! :)

My son has attended Kids Planet Blackrod since April 2023, when he was 8 months old. Our experience has been absolutely amazing. The staff are so caring and you can tell that the children are at the heart of everything they do. My child has always been happy and content with all the staff as he's progressed
through the different rooms. We really couldn't ask for more from them. Thank you to all the staff!

After raising an issue with the toilet facilities they were resolved within a few days. Which i really appreciate. Thank you.
Staff are freindly and my son loves going to nursery.
Staff are approachable and i feel i can go to them with anything i need.
I also love recieving updates and photos
on the parent app used to communicate between nursery and parents.

Kids Planet Blackrod is a fantastic nursery. Both my children feel safe and happy attending and walk in every morning with a smile! The staff are attentive and caring, my children have good relationships with the staff. The communication between nursery and home is good and I receive regular updates
and photos of what my children have been up to most days. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

Brilliant staff, always ever so friendly. My kids really enjoy going to nursery. I would highly recommend! Shout-out to the Preschool and Toddlers staff as they're all approachable. Different days will include different activities.

Amazing place! Very welcoming and communication is 10/10. My little girl has attended since she was nine weeks and the staff have been amazing from the get-go. It's a big deal trusting people with your children and they shown so much care from the start. The baby room is well set out and has good facilities.
Lots of interactive play, singing, and reading. The app is also such a good feature to help keep track of every day to day activities. Food intake and nappy changes. The Staff are so supportive too. The safeguarding is outstanding with facial recognition. Would 100% recommend.

The staff have been very helpful, giving us a lot of information about how our son is doing, etc. They tend to keep us up to date with pictures, nappy changes, etc, which gives me and the dad a lot of reassurance that our son is getting the care he needs.

Brilliant nursery. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are lovely and friendly. They offer lots of different experiences for the children from swimming, yoga to Spanish. Cannot recommend it enough.

My son began attending the Tots room from the beginning of September for 2 days a week. The management team were very knowledgeable and welcoming and made me feel reassured that he was in good hands. He has settled in brilliantly and loves going to nursery. The staff are very nurturing and approachable,
they have quickly made relationships with my son and us as a family. My son has opportunities to develop all areas of his learning and I can already see the development in him after just 1 month.

My daughter loves each and every day at Kids Planet Blackrod. She's got a brilliant relationship with all the staff in her room and whilst a little nervous/tearful on her first few days, she runs in now for breakfast each morning when I drop her off. Can't recommend highly enough.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2013

I joined the nursery in August 2013, when it was formally known as The Owls Nursery, where I began my journey as a practitioner within the baby room, progressing to Nursery Manager in January 2019. I have a degree in Early Childhood Studies and Social Policy and have worked within the Early Years sector for 18 years. Parent Partnerships is something that I am very passionate about, I enjoy meeting new families and working together collaboratively to ensure the children thrive from their nursery experience.
