6.7 Wimbledon House Nursery and Preschool has a Review Score of 6.7 (6.703)

The Review Score of 6.7 (maximum of 10) for Wimbledon House Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 18 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Wimbledon House Nursery and Preschool in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 2.4 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 2 years. (A 2 year period has been used as there were no positive reviews in the last 12 months)

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.26 for Wimbledon House Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (113 Goods x 4) + (23 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 215 Ratings = 4.26

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 2.443 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wimbledon House Nursery and Preschool is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4 then divided by 2 = 2.000

    2. Target of 19.2 positive Reviews (96 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 17 Reviews ÷ 19.2 Target = 0.885 , then divided by 2 = 0.443

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Nice staff. Staff changes more than it should in my opinion. My son doesn't like to be with someone he doesn't know so this makes his settling difficult. Sometimes I would like staff to be "warmer" towards the kids. Food looks good every time. Staff are very concerned about safety.

Gorgeous location with great facilities and well-trained staff. Room leaders are all great and have really built up a bond with my daughter, making her feel very comfortable. Only negatives are the occasional missed dirty nappy and quite a high staff turnover at the moment resulting in my daughter being a bit clingy. However overall I am very happy and will be sending my son there when he turns one.

This Nursery is a great place before the child reaches pre-school. The care before the child reaches pre-school is great, but in pre-school, it's not the same.

Thank you for your feedback. I would encourage you to speak to the Nursery Manager and her team. It's important you feel that you can openly express your views, so any areas of concern are addressed and you’re totally happy with the high level of care we provide.

Our daughter has loved her time at Wimbledon House. The staff, have been amazing at supporting her development from a quite shy 2-year old into the sociable, confident 4-year old she now is.

A loving nursery, my son has enjoyed his time here and has always come home with happy stories. We were especially impressed with the art studio and teacher who certainly inspired our son and put on a very professional exhibition.

My child has been at the nursery since she was one and has progressed through the various rooms to pre-school. Each transition has been well managed and she has settled well. I appreciate the different activities available to her- she especially enjoyed Mr E and the sports activities. I also like the fact the children spend a lot of time outdoors. The pre-school room has been harder for my child to adjust to but she is happy now. I am looking forward to seeing how she improves with the more structured learning.

Wimbledon House Nursery is a fantastic place for a nursery. The large outside area and the quality of the staff make every day my child spends there worth it. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

I have two children in the nursery. They enjoy the activities provided and make progress- more so the younger they are. The pre-school is very popular meaning the older child has been held down a class until there is space with his friends in pre-school. Frustrating. The staff are lovely and are as helpful as they can be given the circumstances. However whenever I collect the children they are always smiling!

My son has been at Wimbledon House day Nursery for nearly 2 years and has been extremely happy there. It has been the first Nursery my son attended and as a first time mum going back to work and leaving my child full time I was very emotional. The staff have been nothing but supportive of me and my son. They always have a friendly and caring attitude to all the children in their care and I get excellent feedback when I pick him up after work, often not wanting to leave. He is very happy at nursery and I feel confident and happy leaving him in the care of the staff. The staff are punctual and always precise in giving him his asthma inhaler and are confident in knowing the signs for when he needs it.

I started working for Bright Horizons in 2010 at our Twickenham Nursery and transferred to Wimbledon in 2013 when the nursery first opened.

I have worked in the Early Years Sector for over 14 years, working in a variety of different settings and with a various age range of children but predominantly birth to five years. I have a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and how best to support children in their development. In 2012 I completed my Foundation Stage degree in Early Years Childcare and Education. I have experience not only with Early Years but also within Management and have been a Nursery Manager in several settings. I am also the lead Safeguarding Officer within the nursery as well as being SENCO trained and First Aid Qualified.

I have found Wimbledon House Nursery to be a very happy, loving nursery which holds some excellent staff and beautiful children. The nursery boasts some amazing resources for the children to develop and grow and I am very proud to be managing such a stimulating and enriching nursery.
