Tops Day Nurseries: Lakeside Nursery

My Granddaughter has settled so well in the nursery. She settles so quickly after being dropped off and comes out smiling. The photos and observations sent are lovely and really show how much she enjoys her time there. She is also trying foods at nursery that she refuses at home. She talks about the staff in her room at home which makes it obvious to us that she has a good bond with them and feels safe.

. Otherwise it's been a great nursery, I'm still glad he goes there but it's only fair to be honest in a review.

My daughter has been with Lakeside since she was 6 months old. She is now 17 months and she absolutely loves nursery. She has excellent key workers. Even when my daughter cries when she arrives it takes the team a minute or two to settle her before I get fun photos of her throughout the day. The team always notifies us if my child is not 100% and reassures me when I'm not 100% about leaving her. I can't thank the team enough for taking great care of my daughter. I would certainly recommend Tops to anyone in the area.

Fantastic, caring staff, lots of activities for the kids to do. We've seen our daughter come on leaps and bounds since joining and she loves going there each day. Food each day is great and the staff have supported us in getting her to potty train too.

Friendly, caring and excellent members of staff. My child enjoyed thoroughly her nursery staying time. I was nervous about sending her to nursery however, she settled down beautifully and always looked forward to going to nursery with no issues or concern. Overall service is good.

Our two year old boy has been coming here since he was around 6 months old and enjoys every session. Although he is only generally in one day a week, we wouldn't go anywhere else now. The staff have been amazing throughout and his transition into the next group was seamless. There's always plenty for the kids to do and the staff are really attentive to their needs. Couldn't be happier choosing Lakeside.

My boy absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff are fantastic and he loves them, to the point where if he doesn't want to get dressed in the morning I name the staff and some of his friends there and then he gets dressed straight away! There are so many different activities to keep him entertained and they go outside every day, weather depending, which he loves. The app is brilliant and it's really nice to see pictures of my little one enjoying himself when his family isn't there with him. The staff are very caring, about the whole family as well as the children and very supportive and knowledgeable. Thank you for looking after my boy so well, it's really reassuring knowing he's in such good hands.

At first, we were nervous about our son going to nursery as he has additional needs but the team at Lakeside have been the best. They have been very patient with his medical needs and have instigated various referrals which have helped him flourish. I feel happy to email the manager and his keyworker if I do have any concerns and the nursery even contact me, if he is off sick for a period of time, to check how he is doing. I feel they are supportive of not only my son but my whole family. My son is currently developing skills we were told he would struggle with and a lot of that is down to the hard work his nursery teachers put in with him.

Tops is a fantastic nursery. I’m so glad my daughter had the opportunity to go there before going to school and that my son still does. The staff are so kind and gentle and go above and beyond for the children on a daily basis. We love the fact that Tops is an eco nursery, especially as it meant my son could continue wearing reusable nappies at nursery as well as at home due to Tops fully supporting this and even washing and drying my son’s nappies at the nursery! When my daughter had to leave Tops to go to school she was really sad, not just about leaving her friends but also the staff. Tops offers their holiday club which my daughter has been to during half term and really enjoyed it. Their flexible booking system is amazing. I can book the exact hours I need just one week before and the staff have always been so helpful and tried to fit my son in if I’ve had last-minute changes to my work schedule. My son and daughter have both flourished going to Tops. Thank you!

I highly recommend this incredible setting for my son. He absolutely loves it. As a parent, it is the hardest thing to leave your precious little one with anyone. This team make that so easy. There is a true feeling that they care for my little one and you can see, hear and feel that in everything they do. I could not ask for more, a huge thank you. One of the amazing things is forest school. My son has so much fun exploring outside and everything they do in forest school is so creative, fun and educational. The team at Tops feel passionately about following the children's interests. My son absolutely loves space and science and recently they have been conducting science experiments! The communication is excellent, regular photos and updates throughout the week and good quality handovers that never feel rushed. All of this is a testament to the way the setting is led, the nursery manager truly cares about giving each and every child the best start in life!

Overall one of the best nurseries that I visited and can't recommend it enough.

As usual, we cannot fault the care provided in Explorers. Our daughter is thriving and we couldn’t be happier. She loves integrating with Investigators and its lovely that she gets the chance to mix with the older children and to learn from them. I am generally really happy for her to come home filthy and grubby as it shows that she’s given the opportunity to explore and is happy to do so, however, lots of her clothes are paint-stained and I wonder if there’s a way to reduce this. I understand that catching the children to put aprons on may interrupt the flow of their play and I’m not sure I can offer any solutions! This is only a really minor point though and I cannot thank the team enough for all that they do.

My son's communication and language has improved significantly since starting attending Tops Lakeside. He is always happy when going to nursery. He has also developed good friendships which is positively impacting his personal social and emotional development. Thank you all so much for your support and care of my little boy.

The staff at Tops really understand my daughter. She thrives in this environment and is so happy. The communication is great. I always have a full understanding of my daughters progress and a picture to go alongside which is lovely.

My son has a great time here. I have seen many lovely pictures of the activities he does with his friends and he tells me all about the fun he has had. He is developing very well due to the environment at Top Day Nurseries: Lakeside Nursery. Also, the flexible booking is great. Thanks to the whole team.

My son loves attending. I asked him if he was looking forward to school in September 2021. He said "no I want to stay at preschool mummy." I think that sums it up. I’m a single, full time essential worker. There’s no chance I could have made it through the lockdowns in the last year without the nurseries support. The teachers are beyond kind and caring. I’m able to book last minute hours on the day if I need them and at a reduced price. The flexibility is incredible. Throughout the pandemic they have gone above and beyond in terms of protecting my son and all the children. Frankly, I can’t fault them.

We initially chose to view Tops nurseries due to the flexible booking option, and the Lakeside setting we viewed really stood out to us for all the natural light and open space. Since starting at 10-months, now 21-months, our little one has flourished. She calls all the staff her friends and is a very happy girl on nursery days. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and clearly know our little one's likes, dislikes, strengths and areas to work on. Their procedures during Covid have been efficient, and I would definitely recommend Lakeside.

My daughter started at Tops, in the investigator's room at the beginning of October. I am so happy with the help and support my daughter has received from the nursery manager and her key worker in the investigator's team. My daughter's key worker is so passionate, vibrant and full of fun and happy energy. Because of this, my daughter has settled in so well, is happy and excited to go into the nursery and we have seen an improvement in her development. Thank you Tops Lakeside.

Our little boy started coming to Tops Lakeside in June 2020 when he was 10 months old, it was a worrying time for him to be away from us during the pandemic but the staff were excellent and put our minds at ease straight away. (Especially his room manager). Our son loves going into nursery and doesn't look back once he's in. He's so well looked after and always comes home happy, smiling and full of the delicious food they give him! I have no worries as a parent about leaving him there and feel confident that he's in the best hands. He has come on leaps and bounds with his mobility, skills and speech. Our daughter loves Lakeside Nursery. She does different activities every day and is always really happy to tell us about it at the end of the day.
