Our daughter has not been in this nursery but has enjoyed her experience and is no longer sad to leave me and is happy with her teacher. The teacher is very patient and calm and knows how to get out daughter to do things in a happy way. We will be sad to leave her as she starts preschool. Hope she connects
with someone there too.
Remember my son preferred the toddler area more as he kept on changing who looked after him.

My baby boy has been going to this nursery for over six months and he really enjoys his time here. The staff are very caring and attentive. They have been brought in special toys to help with my little one's development.
Management has been very helpful and also get involved with care for my little
boy which is really nice. I love that the nursery provides all nappies, cream, formula etc. So I don't need to think about these things and pack stuff up.

Parent/play leader meeting.
As usual staff have gone above and beyond to support both my child and I reagrding his learning needs. Both the deputy manager and play leader understand my son's needs and look for creative ways in which they can work with me to support his development.
Staff are as ever,
kind, caring and considerate to our situation. I always feel supported by Little Chestnuts staff.

This nursery has gone out of their way to help my son. My son has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The nursery has been understanding, helpful and are working closely to support his future. Thank you Little Chestnuts Day Nursery for all the help you've given and continue to give.

I am extremely happy at how my child has settled in. They have helped to create a polite independent boy, who has overcome so many eating issues and now eats a wide variety of foods, serves himself and cleans away his stuff at home.

Fantastic nursery, my daughters have settled so well and love every day they attend.
They have bonded so well with the staff. The setting is a child's dream! The staff go about and beyond, making everyday fun packed. I love how much my girls have learnt through play. We love the interactive learning
diary as well. So much information about what activities they are doing, what they have achieved and what they need to do next.
Highly recommend. Very professionally run.

As my son does not have brothers or sisters, he's been learning about sharing and he is happy with his friends. I like this nursery so much because the staff always give me a review of my sons behaviour, his improvements and opportunities.

The Holiday Club has given my children such joy over the year. The friendly, helpful staff of both nursery and club is fab. I recommend both to friends, work partners, always. Thank you for everything you do for both of mine.
The staff at the Holiday Club, the manager and another staff member covering
both areas deserve the highest of praises for both their work and care of those in their care.

I'm very happy with the nursery. My son started to speak much better since he started to go to the nursery, to sing, to dance, to know the alphabet.
I can see a good difference.

My son really enjoys his time at the nursery.
All the staff are very friendly.
He has built a good connection with a few key members of staff.
Learning new things whilst at nursery and being able to come home and show me, shows me staff are teaching them well.
Definitely recommend to friends for
their children.

My son has only been attending Little Chestnuts for a couple of months, 2 mornings a week. He has settled in very well. So far I have been happy with his care apart from the morning where one member of staff was looking after 2 rooms when children were arriving. The member of staff was greeting a lot
of children and I felt that I had to stay with my son until another member of staff arrived, Overall, I would say the nursery is satisfactory in what they fo, but feel it could do a little bit more.

My child has learnt a lot since starting nursery and has so much confidence. He loves it. My only concern was some issues he had with another child where he got hurt a couple of times. However, since speaking to management we have not had any more problems.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.212)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.212) out of 10 for Thrift Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.929 for Thrift Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.929
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.283 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thrift Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.583
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
