Acre Wood Nursery School opened in spring 2012 caring for children in a beautiful, light and spacious environment. Newly refurbished to an excellent standard, Acre Wood offers a variety of play areas, with equipment and activities for children of all ages including computers, creative spaces and its very own dance studio.

The outdoor play area offers an open space for bikes and cars, a large sandpit area, an enclosed digging and growing area as well as an expanse of soft surfaces for babies and toddlers and a beautiful tree house and slide hidden away beneath large oaky leaves.

All of the Acre Wood staff are qualified to a Level 3 grade, all first aid trained and hold Enhanced CRB certificates.

  • The fees are based on the sessions or days attended and range from £48.75 for a session to £88.15 for a full day place. These prices are from Birth to 5 years
    We offer 15 and 30 hour funding places to all eligible families, subject to availability. Funded fees available upon request.

  • The fees are updated every April. Please call the nursery manager for an up to date fee sheet. The fees are offered depending on the requested sessions: Weekly, Daily or Sessional and to availability

Both of my children have been/go to this nursery and they both have been very happy. I feel a nursery is all about the staff and everyone we have dealt with at Acre Wood have been great. My daughter took a while to settle as it was a new environment but the staff were very caring and even changed her
key worker to someone she had a better connection with (I did not have to ask for this.) The activities provided for my son in the younger years room are amazing and there is always something new to keep him interested. On a practical note, the location and parking is really convenient.

Lovely nursery really warm and caring staff. Lots of great toys and activities with an excellent range of things for the children to do every day. Really good settle in sessions helped make the transition to going to nursery easier, so my son settled in really well at 9 months old and loves his nursery,
he's been there nearly a year now. Staff are excellent very professional and helpful.

Lovely setting and very friendly staff. My son has recently joined the nursery and he has settled quickly. The reports that I receive on his day is great and I know that he will develop well with the planned daily activities. Overall really happy with our choice of nursery.

Amanda Massey

Job Title: Nursery Owner Joined: 2012

Amanda has been working with children for over 25 years. Qualifying in 1989 and working as a Nanny for a number of years before moving in to the nursery sector where she progressed to nursery deputy before making a decision to open up her own nursery school.


Amanda has owned her own nurseries since 2001 and has seen many children thrive within this time.
