Acre Wood Nursery School

My daughter left Acre Wood this summer to start Reception - this was hugely emotional as she had been there since she was 10 months old and had made some fantastic friendships and bonds with the staff. The team at Acre Wood threw such a lovely graduation ceremony for the leavers - in their own time - and went above and beyond in ensuring children were as ready as they possibly could be for their transition to school. I also have a 2-year-old son at Acre Wood. As a ‘lockdown baby’, when he started, he was very shy and reluctant to leave my side. The staff have been so supportive and he has come on so much in his development and self-confidence over the past year; it is so lovely to have him now happily wave me off when I drop him off each morning, just like his sister always used to do! On a side note, I consider my son to be a fussy eater, yet at nursery, I’m always told how much he eats - he clearly loves the food provided by the lovely chef as much as his big sister used to!

We are so pleased to have found Acre Wood! It has given my little one a lovely, safe, and nurturing environment to play, learn and grow. It is well managed and responsive; we couldn't ask more of the dedicated, well-trained, and friendly staff who form genuine bonds with the children. In short, our daughter is very happy there so we are too!

We have had two boys at Acre Wood, both experiences really, really good, staff were, and continue to be, responsive to my children’s individual needs, and really took the time to build rapport with both of them. The atmosphere around Acre Wood is always one of fun, play, kindness, and care.

Acre Wood have such lovely and hardworking staff. They have cared for my son as both a baby and now for pre-school. The Butterflies team have gone out of their way with a subtle and gentle approach to settle my son in. The nursery has a community feel where parents and families are encouraged to engage, which has massively helped to socialise the children.

Our family has been part of the nursery for 4 years now and baby no.2 has been going for a year. The nursery have been extremely accommodating when needed around my flexible working and how they have approached and managed covid has been brilliant. My eldest recently started school and was totally ready following the nurturing at Acre Wood.

We moved our daughter to Acre Wood nursery in September. The staff have been so welcoming and wonderful in looking after her and I feel very reassured when I drop her off in the morning! Would definitely recommend!

Both our children are at Acre Wood, and we're incredibly happy with the nursery. It is a completely child-focussed and well-run facility with incredibly caring and well-trained staff. Acre Wood provides more than just childcare - especially in the older groups we've been very impressed with the educational projects they do, and both our children are flourishing in their environment. There is lots of outdoor play, good equipment, and the food is both nutritious and always well-received by our children! They have a great online system to share progress updates, photos, and to communicate with parents so we always feel very involved in what our children have been up to. We would have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending Acre Wood.

We have had a great experience settling our son into Acre Wood Nursery School. We have found the staff to be very friendly, supportive and caring. We are very pleased with the decision that we have made to send him here.

It’s a small nursery but with a big heart.

Both my sons are at Acre Wood and we couldn't be happier with the nursery. Both boys love going in every day and are welcomed warmly by every member of staff. The activities they do are wide-ranging and stimulating. The most special thing for us though is that both have pretty severe dietary requirements that were diagnosed after they joined the nursery. The nursery could not be more accommodating of them and their dietary needs. The staff go out of their way to get new food in as well as food that is appropriate for them, even though this means cooking separate meals. Everyone at Acre Wood really cares about the children in their care and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We now have our second child placed in Acre Wood Nursery. The staff are excellent with the children and always keep us up to date with our child's progress and development. If there were any issues they would discuss them with us, how to overcome them both at home and at the nursery. Overall we are very happy to recommend this nursery. They are very professional. 5-star service.

Our son has been at Acre Wood since he turned one. He was very clingy to me at the start but has grown in confidence thanks to his key workers. Now in the next room up I can see his language is getting even better and he seems to be learning lots at nursery.

Really like the outside area with lots of toys to play with. The food seems good and he enjoys the fruit and other snacks throughout the day.

My daughter has attended Acre Wood since she was 6 months old. I have always been very happy with the care provided and the staff are very committed to the children. It is very reassuring to know that my daughter is in safe hands and comes home every day with a smile on her face. It certainly makes going to work that bit easier knowing this. Thank you to all of the team at Acre Wood for all you do.

Good nursery school. The management and staff are all very friendly and helpful. They have a genuine interest in my child's well-being and education. Our son has really prospered since his start at the school. He enjoys his time there. I would recommend this nursery to other parents.

I am very pleased with Acre wood Nursery. My son is fond of his key workers and has lovely days there. He is much more talkative and confident since joining. One area we would like more improvement is in photos/reviews of his day. We are on Tapestry but feel it could be updated more often.

My daughter has had some difficulties settling in, however with support from her key worker, teachers and the manager, she has been able to settle in. The staff have been very open to using strategies advised to them and excellent in observing, communicating my daughter's daily emotions and interaction skills.

From the moment the door opened at Acre Wood Nursery School 3 years ago, I knew this was the nursery for my daughter. The staff are amazing, they have nurtured both myself as a mother and my daughter on every level from caring to teaching and the welfare of my daughter. The staff have always been extremely helpful with advice whenever I have asked for help. I have always felt it to be a very safe and caring environment. I feel the staff really do have the best interest at heart for my child and for myself.

Acre Wood Nursery School really do have the balance of learning through play and realising the potential in all the children. Helping them grow as individuals in preparation for Infant School.

My son is now 3 and joined Acre Wood when he was 5 months old, he has and continues to thrive at this nursery. The staff are fantastic, there are lots of additional activities available and he has continued to learn and develop. I can often identify what the children are working on at nursery as my son is keen to share it with me and I then encourage him from home. In all the time he has attended, we have had nothing but positive experiences, he has developed some lovely relationships with his key workers, who all take pride in his development. It's reassuring to know, not only is my son happy here but that the staff are proud of him when he learns something new, and then continue to build on it. My son is not the most confident child but his confidence has grown and he is so much better now, no doubt the staff have helped him with this. I would highly recommend this nursery.
