Established by parents with nursery-aged children, Little Cubs Academy is a safe, caring, loving and diverse community that comes together around the children in their care.

Teachers are skilled Early Years Educators who are informed by years of education and experience, and who are guided by their genuine love of their work.

The outdoors is very much viewed as an extension of the classroom for all ages, with respect and love of nature playing a key part in the curriculum. Forest school takes place at the local nature reserve as part of the weekly timetable of activities for all children aged 3 to 5.

The team believe that all children are capable and competent learners, have unique learning styles and learn at their own pace. Children learn best when they are involved in meaningful, purposeful activities that allow them to safely interact with their environment.

At Little Cubs Academy, their goals are to create an environment where children are valued for their individual strengths and gifts, and where growth and learning are interconnected. They are very conscious that they are always learning, and they value each moment of every day.

The nursery and preschool is open to children aged 3 months to 5 years and open 51 weeks throughout the year.

You have always been super helpful with all our requests to move around days, and the care my son has received has been second to none. The Deputy Manager was such a great person to entrust our eight-month-old to and everyone since has filled his days with learning, fun and excitement.

My son and daughter have attended Little Cubs Academy in Honor Oak and our experience with the nursery has been brilliant.


The nursery is well managed, the food is good and - most importantly - my children have been in the care of wonderful staff. The nursery also has great outdoor space. Our children

have been extremely happy throughout their time at Little Cubs.

Our son attended Little Cubs academy from the age of one to three and a half years and it's only because we were moving out of London that we reluctantly had to take him out! We could not recommend them more and have done so to multiple friends and family in search of childcare locally. The staff's
attention and care to the children are obvious and how they have the energy at the end of the day to give each parent a debrief of their child's day, I don't know – but I commend them! They really understand the challenges of being a working parent and the reassurances we need to know our child is in the best care whilst we are at work. After a brief stint at another nursery which was not a good fit for us, we were so grateful for the Little Cubs team and how they accommodated us and really engaged with and cared for our son – we really witnessed him thrive in his time there. We will miss it!

My toddler started Little Cubs in September 2021 aged three and was immediately made to feel welcome, safe, and happy. The settling in period was very well considered and after just two days he was fine going in every day and hasn’t looked back. The staff are kind, caring, and engaged with the children
which is noticeable on collection and drop off. There is a great blend of learning, play, and a variety of activities and we’ve been really impressed with the whole environment.

I think my experience is like that of a lot of parents - it's incredibly hard to leave my child when I have to go to work each day. But it becomes a lot easier when I'm dropping my daughter at Little Cubs Academy in Honor Oak Park. There are so many great things about the place - its inviting and warm
environment, the activities and style of developmental engagement, the healthy, home-cooked meals, the communication with parents and use of the Famly app. But the thing that's most important to me, and clearly has had the biggest impact on my daughter, is the relationship with the people who work there. They have built a deep and personalised relationship with her, and she is thriving because she is being supported, nurtured and cared for in such a genuine way. It may be hard to leave her each morning, but when she gets home energised and happy from a great day at nursery, I know we're doing the right thing!

We had recently moved to the Forest Hill area and chose Little Cubs Academy Honor Oak Nursery for our daughter. We couldn't be happier with the decision. The nursery staff are warm and welcoming and my daughter has created a lovely bond with them all. Out of number of visits made to the other nurseries
in Forest Hill, we felt right at home at Little Cubs the moment we walked in. A lovely nursery that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Our daughter started at Little Cubs Honor Oak Park in March 2021 when she was 12 months old. I was very nervous about her starting nursery but she has absolutely flourished. The care in the baby room was beyond what I expected. We were kept up to date with phone calls and photos, and we even got some
laminated pictures of her doing some artwork which are now pride of place in the kitchen.
This was the first time my daughter had ever really been apart from her parents, but she settled in extremely quickly. I put this down to the love and care shown to her by the staff at Little Cubs. She naps really well there and the food she is given looks delicious and very healthy and varied.
I can't recommend enough this nursery!

I have two children at this nursery and have found the staff across the past 3 years to be friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking. Both my kids love going and have made really close bonds with their teachers. The staff all know every parent and I feel their attention to detail to things like who's who
and the individual child's likes and dislikes makes it such a positive environment.

Our little one (11 months) recently started at Little Cubs. Obviously being a lockdown baby he has had very little contact with others outside our home. The staff at Little Cubs have been fantastic allowing our little one, now only 4 weeks in, to feel right at home. We have already noticed a leap in
their development and this is down to the activities that are being offered and the loving care they receive on a day to day basis.
All members of staff are available to talk through worries/concerns or just answer any question no matter how silly they may seem. Every drop off and pick up we are welcomed with a huge friendly smile, which is something we have benefited from over the past few weeks.
The setting and space that the nursery has is fantastic, it has really taken into account the level of development for each room age. The outdoor area that is available is fantastic for explorers of all ages.

I would deeply recommend Little Cubs as it is a wonderful nursery. The staff there take really good care of the children, they all are very happy, which leads to happy parents! This is the most amazing nursery. Head and shoulders above every nursery in Forest Hill. We have been so impressed with the whole experience, from their customer service when we enquired, to the fantastic care and education they provide. We thoroughly recommend Little Cubs Honor Oak. Our child attended for almost two years and only left because we moved overseas. The nursery is a lovely setting with a good garden play area and a diverse range of food. The key drawcard to this nursery though is the staff led by the warm and intelligent
manager. The baby room leader is wonderful and caring and incredibly dedicated. The staff in the toddler room are equally as impressive. We were very sad to leave Little Cubs but are thankful for our child’s time there.

My son was at Little Cubs for a year and loved it. He was very happy to be dropped off every day. Staff are fantastic and clearly care about the children. Activities are varied, and the nursery has a lovely outdoor space. I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the area. We only left because we moved out
of the area and were very sad to take my son out so soon.

My daughter has settled in really well here. What is amazing is how happy the staff are working at Little Cubs and my child loves going to nursery. My daughter often tells me she wants to go to nursery even on the weekend. The staff have always been very friendly and warm and given lots of feedback
on how my daughter's day has been, what she has done, what she has eaten and how long she slept. My wife and I also recognise how much nursery is helping develop her language and speech, her confidence and independence. The headteacher is extremely helpful, knows my daughter really well and is on hand to support with advice, which my wife and I often need as new parents. I would highly recommend this nursery. Thank you to everyone at Little Cubs, you are great and are doing a great job with all the kids, especially mine! I can go to work knowing she is in safe hands here.
