We highly recommend Dicky Birds. The staff are nurturing, committed and professional. The children are taken on outings on an almost daily basis and there are a variety of activities provided every day. Our younger child took a while to settle and the staff went above and beyond to help her feel at home and safe.

We feel confident that our children are well cared for, stimulated and happy.

We highly recommend Dicky Bird Pelham Road. Our child feels genuinely looked after by well-trained, approachable staff and strong, knowledgeable leadership. We appreciate the exceptionally clean environment, nutritious meals, and diverse activities (baking, music, trips to parks and farms). The regular reports and pictures are excellent.

For constructive feedback, we'd suggest enforcing an indoor shoe policy for hygiene and being more vigilant about ensuring children wear coats when playing outside in the cold. Overall, a fantastic place for high-quality care and education.

Dicky Birds Nursery on Pelham Rd is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, care and genuine love the staff have for every child. The team are not only highly professional, but incredibly nurturing, attentive and enthusiastic, making each child feel safe, valued and confident every single day. The creative activities are outstanding - thoughtfully planned, engaging and varied, they spark curiosity, imagination and joy. The excursions are equally impressive, giving children exciting opportunities to explore, learn and grow beyond the classroom in a well-organised and secure way. Above all, the nursery provides a safe, loving and supportive environment where children thrive emotionally, socially and academically. Our child loves going in every day. We could not recommend Pelham Rd highly enough

Although our son was ultimately unable to attend this nursery, I felt it was really important to leave a review because of how kind, understanding, and empathetic the team were towards us as a family.
From our very first contact, the staff treated us with compassion and respect. They were incredibly patient, supportive, and genuinely caring during what was a difficult and emotional time for us. Their communication was thoughtful, reassuring, and never made us feel like an inconvenience but quite the opposite.

It's rare to come across a team who show such humanity and professionalism, even when a child doesn't end up attending. We truly cannot thank them enough for the understanding and kindness they showed us, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other families. Any child would be very lucky to be cared for by this nurseery

I was on the fence initially about sending my son to Pelham Dicky Birds as I had heard mixed reviews. After two showing round opportunities I decided to take a chance and hope for the best in October 2025 after hearing of a managerial change and nursery shake up. My son has been there now nearly 6 months and I can honestly say it is the best decision I made. The staff are so friendly and helpful towards not only my son but also myself and his dad. My son has developed so much in such a little time since being there with the range of activities they offer. So pleased I trusted my gut and went with Dicky Birds Pelham. Will be recommending to other parents looking for a safe place to send their child.

My daughter started at Dickie Birds Pelham Road at around 11 months and is now 2 years. She loves going to nursery and the team at DB do so much for the children - from the children baking cakes for each other's birthdays to sensory play and arts and crafts. In particular, we love that DB is one of the few nurseries in the area that take them out on regular trips (even in the toddler room) including to a farm, Southpark Gardens, the Fire Station and a supermarket. Since Jess has taken over as manager, there has been a real sense of community at DB with her holding several parent/family events and the staff seem happier and motivated.

We have been thoroughly impressed with Dicky Birds Pelham Road Nursery. Over his time there, we have watched our son grow in confidence and independence, developing a strong sense of routine and self-assurance.

The nursery offers a rich and varied programme of activities, including PE and dance classes, as well as regular excursions around Wimbledon - from visits to the fire station to trips to the farm.

The children are also encouraged to respect and contribute to their community through meaningful experiences such as visiting the local care home and helping to keep our parks clean by picking up litter.

Parents are warmly included through thoughtfully organised events, giving us the opportunity to share in the wonderful environment our children enjoy every day.

Dicky Birds Pelham Road is truly an outstanding nursery, with exceptional teachers and dedicated management. We are deeply grateful for the care, attention, and encouragement they provide to our son.

Overall, we are happy sending our child to Dicky Birds Pelham.
It's been a rocky road, with high turnover of staff- change in management and unsatisfactory levels of care during the earlier years of attending the nursery.
However, since Jess has taken over as the manager we have seen so much positive change and progress. She's brought a new level of dynamism and professionalism. The staff seem happier and are delivering great care.
We adore our child's key worker- she is so fantastic and always ensures that they have a really great day full of fun packed activities.

So all in all, we are much happier than when we started our journey with Dicky Birds and would recommend this nursery to other parents.

We knew from Maddie's first day that this was the best nursery for her because of the lovely people that work here. She's only been here for a month or so but she is so well looked after (even on very little sleep still!) which makes it so much easier for us to get used to someone else looking after her such a lot of the time. The fact that everyone takes time to tell us about her day when we pick her up, let us know if anything seems off, and give us little photo updates so often honestly is a dream for us parents! Special thanks to lovely Rosie who seems to really understand Maddie's little personality and looks after her so well!

Our son has been going to the nursery for the past 9 months or so but he took quite some time to settle in. I can say that the staff there have been excellent from the very outset - extremely caring, empathetic and tuned into his needs I can say that he has gone from having a lot of anxiety during drop offs to now looking forward to going to nursery. He now speaks very fondly of his carers there and feels very engaged. The personalised attention to little details has made this transition possible - from the daily visits to the park and other places of interest to children (Such as train station, library etc) to the food they serve (my son is vegetarian and a fussy eater but the staff have gone out of the way to make him special food that he likes). We can now see the transformation at home in how he sits down and eats by himself! In terms of picking up social and communication skills, he has had a steep learning curve over the past few months.

My son has been going to the nursery for the last 6-7 weeks. The care and empathy with which the staff manage their day-to-day operations are very good. My son has taken some time to settle but the nursery has been so cooperative in working with us as a team to ensure he likes the place. They even went to the extent of coming home one day to meet him in his familiar surroundings to help him adjust. The approach overall is so warm and friendly. Another example of personalised attention is ordering toys that he is familiar with so that he feels comfortable and at home. Even in terms of food, they always ask what he likes and prepare food outside of the set menu for him. They also provide regular updates on the app. I am impressed with this nursery's approach and feel that all the carers and nursery managers there genuinely show an interest in a child's development. I can safely leave my son in their care and know that he will blossom there and learn many new skills.

My son has been in this nursery for the last 18 months. The management and staff there are all genuinely caring and attentive. My son has grown and developed significantly in his social and communication skills. Although he was initially hesitant and reluctant, my son is now happy to attend daily and in fact looks forward to meeting the carers and his friends. The nursery has a continuous improvement approach - recently, they have revamped indoor and outdoor facilities - the new outdoor play area looks fabulous and ready just in time for the warmer weather; they have improved staffing levels; and listened actively to concerns and feedback of parents; started home learning activity kits, etc. Older kids also benefit from additional PhysEd lessons which is welcomed. Meanwhile, I would love to see more learning activities for 2-3-year-olds such as music, and languages in addition to the arts and crafts activities and play. Overall, I'm happy with Dicky Birds and hope to see it continue to flourish.

My daughter started this nursery when she was 10 month old. I could say that she grew up in Dicky Birds Pelham Road. She had been in this place for almost 4 years, she stayed in every room across the nursery, in every stage she was well looked after by the teachers. The staff were always attentive and super caring! The food was great and varied. The building was completely renovated - amazing facilities. I really liked seeing regular updates and pictures on the app. Now she's in reception, but she alway says that she would like to go back to the nursery to see her teachers. She loved them deep in her little heart. Thank you for all the staff, you've all been very kind to my daughter. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter attended this nursery and it was absolutely brilliant! The only reason we had to leave is because we moved overseas. She started in the baby room then moved to sparrows then the robin room.

My daughter would usually walk in without saying bye. This is how much she liked the place. The staff were always attentive and super caring! The food was great and varied. The building was completely renovated - amazing facilities. I really liked seeing regular updates and pictures on the app. The management changed since we first started and improved a lot in terms of communication and parent updates. My little girl thrived there so much! She learnt so many new skills. I was always amazed at how quickly she picked up new words and learnt to sing nursery songs. The lady from the baby room is a superstar. Special thank you as well to two ladies for looking after our little girl so well. I would highly recommend this nursery.

As a father who works away a lot, it was important that we found a nursery for our son where he was comfortable and cared for, Dicky Birds did just that. We have recently moved out of London and I can honestly say that despite having great friends and living in a lovely area, the hardest part about relocating was knowing our son would have to leave Dicky Birds and its fantastic staff. In short, I would highly recommend.

We had a positive experience overall. The staff and carers took great care of the children. Management were always available to help with any concerns we might have and really tried to make our son’s time at the nursery a safe and positive experience.
They had lovely outings and fun celebrations in key holidays and our son loved when little pets were brought in to learn about and play with.

The only thing we might have liked is a bit more structured activities, where all children are invited to participate, specially those who are more introverted.
