Part of Sherborne House School and situated in an idyllic four-acre site, bordered by woodland in the quiet, desirable area of Hiltingbury in Hampshire, Sherborne House Nursery provides care and education for children aged six months to five years old.

Children have the opportunity to learn and develop unique skills and values during their time at Sherborne House, while staff ensure that the children are at the heart of all they do. The children take part in activities with the older children during the week which helps them to build positive relationships and prepares them for full-time education and school life.

Their Pre-Reception children (aged 3 - 4) also take part in extracurricular lessons in order to extend their learning and offer the children new experiences in areas they might not have had a chance to explore yet. These lessons include French, P.E., music and drama.

Nursery at Sherborne House School offers children a high standard of care within a secure, inspiring learning environment where children are helped to develop, become active and learn independently.

The Nursery has three rooms: 6 months – 2 years, 2 years – 3 years and 3 years to 4 years.

  • Siblings in the nursery setting will receive a 5% discount. This applies to any second or third child concurrently attending Sherborne House. From the term following your child’s 3rd birthday, the Government provides 15 hours Free Childcare Entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year. Outside of those 38 weeks fees will be charged for all sessions at our current rates as above.
    We accept tax-free childcare vouchers for payment of before and after school care, together with Pre-Reception fees and Reception fees for children still in receipt of Early Years funding.

Hi, this is an excellent nursery! My child has blossomed into a cute, inquisitive and confident young girl. Thanks to the wonderful and loving teachers. Each child gets special attention and care. We all love it.

We are very happy with the new nursery. Our daughter started in the baby room on the first day that the nursery opened. I was anxious about her starting as she has been in the same setting for 11 months but I was extremely surprised to see her settle in immediately. The nursery has such a calm vibe,
so different to any nursery I have been to. The children are happy and seem to have settled so quickly. The rooms and toys are kept so lovely and clean, with a very regular cleaning regime in place. Most importantly our daughter is super happy to be there.

My daughter has just joined Pre-Reception at Sherborne House, and we have been really pleased with how warmly she has been welcomed, and how the staff have personalised her transition into school (age 3). This is the first time she's been cared for by anyone except immediate family, so a huge change
for her, but staff have been absolutely wonderful in introducing her to the school environment, and now only a few weeks in she is very happy, settled, and enjoying the broad range of curricular activities. The staff clearly care very much for the children, and are very thoughtful and considered in how they adapt and shape the experiences for each child. We are delighted, and would highly recommend Sherborne House.

We are absolutely thrilled that we made the decision to send our son to Sherborne House Pre-school. Each day we are taken aback at the progress he has made, be that learning to write his own name to learning colours in French to getting himself dressed and undressed for P.E. lessons.
But most importantly,
my son has wanted to learn to do these things and proudly comes home telling us about his achievements.
There are so many positives about this Pre-school but the greatest one is the staff. I cannot praise them more highly. They made a priority to get to know my son and then tailor the activities to his interests. They create an excellent blend of formal learning with play activities, which means my son will easily adapt to school when the time comes.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this Pre-school to anyone, it truly is excellent!

Sherborne House has been fantastic in everything! Our daughter who is very shy was busy chatting away to the teachers on her very first day (considering she only had one successful settling in session out of her two, this was incredible!). This is not like our daughter to be so open and so quickly to
people she is not familiar with, but both the manager and staff are clearly putting in a lot of effort in getting to know the children, in order for them to open up so quickly.


Our daughter does like to nap but has never napped anywhere other than her own cot (or if we are on holiday). She will not go to sleep in a pushchair, in the car seat etc, however, the teachers have been so gentle with our daughter, that she has been sleeping for an hour in the afternoons. This has been amazing as she isn't so overtired from her full day.

Pre-Reception has been amazing for my son so far. The teachers have been fantastic at helping him to settle in and adjust to a new setting and routine. He really looks forward to coming every day!
The range of activities and resources is excellent and the support he receives from his teachers has already
helped him to progress in areas such as writing his name. He has taken a genuine interest in this due to the fun way it has been introduced.
It is brilliant that the children are able to take part in extra-curricular activities such as French, P.E. and music!

Sherborne House Pre-school has been the most wonderful experience for my son. After just a short time at Sherborne my son's enthusiasm for learning accelerated. I could never have imagined he would have learnt so much before starting Reception. The wonderful staff made every step fun for him and he
was always eager to attend. I would thoroughly recommend Sherborne to anyone looking to give their child the best start to schooling.

My son absolutely loves Sherbourne House Pre-Reception. On mornings he doesn’t come here there is a visible sadness on his part. He really loved it here.


What is clear is that the teachers and key workers know all the children so well and are able to tap into their strengths building them up and

making them confident children. They also identify areas that the children have less strength in and build on them. We have seen our son grow in confidence and I really regret not sending the older one to this pre-school when he was younger. The staff are brilliant. We are very lucky.

Great place - the child looks forward to going to school, now. He did a lot of progress and can say that his communication skills, as well as self-confidence, have improved greatly.
In fact, at home, he now gives us a daily dose of karaoke.

Sherborne House is providing our daughter with excellent care. It has fantastic facilities and is giving her really good preparation for starting school this coming September. My daughter absolutely loves coming to Pre-Reception at Sherborne House School. The staff are excellent and it is clear they know each child individually. Time and time again they go the extra mile to provide the highest level of care for the children. It is a super mixture of more formally learning
and play based activities, which provides the children with an excellent grounding before they go onto reception. I could not rate the staff and Pre-School highly enough.

An outstanding nursery, set within a wonderful school which our eldest child is thriving in. Our son has come on leaps and bounds since he started attending Sherborne House Pre-Reception. The staff are superb and create a fun and stimulating environment. They treat each child as an individual and dedicate
huge amounts of time to nurturing them. Thoroughly recommended, no other setting locally comes close.

Sherborne House school offers a fantastic pre-reception/nursery setting. My child was able to identify letters, numbers and write his name after just a few weeks of being there. He had the most wonderful keyworker, who always put the children first and ensured they delivered the very best results. My
child has a serious medical condition that requires a lot of assistance, the nursery engaged with the medical professionals to ensure his medication, Physio and restrictions were always adhered to. I would recommend this nursery to everybody. If you are looking for the very best setting, run by wonderful staff, then this is the one for you.

The nursery in Sherborne House School is simply wonderful. My child enjoyed her time there and she especially loved the staff. She always came home with a smile! The good thing about a school run nursery is that your child gets used to a school environment and gets to mix with older children. This is
particularly helpful in settling into new school going routines. Sherborne House School Nursery understand these challenges for little ones. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent pre-school and my son loved his time there. He was happy and occupied building jigsaws puzzles, using construction blocks, singing songs and numerous other activities. The pre-school encourage the development of various skills like creativity and listening to stories and reading
as well as physical development. It's a great place that really prepares kids for starting school.
The staff are welcoming and friendly. They clearly have a passion for spending time with kids and show they care for each child's individual need.

Lovely play/education setting for preschool age child. The small class sizes have enabled plenty of one to one attention on my child. The staff have been superb at settling my child as well as reassuring a worried mummy.
My child is stimulated and occupied well throughout the day, PE is a particular
hit.
Several opportunities throughout the year for a parent to get involved at school too.
Respectful of parents views, safeguarding etc.

A well organised and intimate setting in a beautiful surrounding. The pre-reception teachers are warming and my child responds well to them.
My son has only just recently started but is loving every minute and we couldn’t be happier.

My son was so happy here, they have the right balance between having a structure to the day whilst not being too busy or overwhelming for little ones. It was great preparation for him starting in Reception this year having already looked at phonics, maths, literacy and P.E. The step into big school
happened with ease.
I cannot praise the teachers enough, they are kind and caring and take the time to get to know the children and their individual needs.
