Part of Sherborne House School and situated in an idyllic four-acre site, bordered by woodland in the quiet, desirable area of Hiltingbury in Hampshire, Sherborne House Nursery provides care and education for children aged six months to five years old.

Children have the opportunity to learn and develop unique skills and values during their time at Sherborne House, while staff ensure that the children are at the heart of all they do. The children take part in activities with the older children during the week which helps them to build positive relationships and prepares them for full-time education and school life.

Their Pre-Reception children (aged 3 - 4) also take part in extracurricular lessons in order to extend their learning and offer the children new experiences in areas they might not have had a chance to explore yet. These lessons include French, P.E., music and drama.

Nursery at Sherborne House School offers children a high standard of care within a secure, inspiring learning environment where children are helped to develop, become active and learn independently.

The Nursery has three rooms: 6 months – 2 years, 2 years – 3 years and 3 years to 4 years.

  • Siblings in the nursery setting will receive a 5% discount. This applies to any second or third child concurrently attending Sherborne House. From the term following your child’s 3rd birthday, the Government provides 15 hours Free Childcare Entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year. Outside of those 38 weeks fees will be charged for all sessions at our current rates as above.
    We accept tax-free childcare vouchers for payment of before and after school care, together with Pre-Reception fees and Reception fees for children still in receipt of Early Years funding.

Amazing nursery! All staff go the extra mile. My son has settled wonderfully in the hedgehog room, with staff constantly offering reassurance and cuddles when needed. Nothing is too much trouble - always felt heard and requests met.

Fantastic nursery. The care is second to none. Lovely setting with a brilliant outdoor play area, which was a priority when looking for a nursery. The staff are kind and caring, and my son enjoys every morning he spends at Sherborne House nursery. 5*!

This is the best nursery/pre-reception ever. The service is great, and the teachers are brilliant. My daughter is so happy here. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to send their child to a really good nursery. The teachers are so polite and very understanding. My daughter goes to nursery happy
and comes back happy; she absolutely loves it compared to the other nursery she used to go to where she would go there crying and I would pick her up crying. Makes me happy that my child is happy and in a safe, happy environment where I know she will be cared for.

We cannot recommend this nursery more highly.


After relocating, we viewed almost all other nursery settings within the area, and Sherborne is simply a cut above the others.


Our daughter joined pre-reception, and her development and the care given has been exceptional. The staff are extremely caring,

and my daughter skips out of the door each day keen to tell me all the exciting things she has done.


Being on-site with the school means she has access to French, Music and PE, which are all included within the reasonable day rate.


The nursery sends educational materials home to help develop her reading, and we are regularly kept up to date with her progress and areas for development.


We really do feel our daughter has been given an accelerated start and cannot think of a better place for our daughter to prepare for a seamless transition to reception.

An amazing nursery and preschool. Can't fault their care in any way. Caring teachers and a lovely, nurturing environment. As both of us were keyworkers, our kid had to go into school all through lockdown, and the care provided has been eccentric. The app is an added bonus, and we get to have a really
good insight into our child's amazing day at the nursery. Ever so grateful for all your care!

My daughter joined the nursery when it opened, and from the start, I was impressed by the staff, quality of care, facilities and overall management. My experience and that of my daughter is overwhelmingly excellent. She loves going to nursery, and the sheer variety of activities, which are clearly very
carefully considered to support development but also encourage their individual preferences and curiosity, are fantastic. My daughter was diagnosed with hearing difficulty, and the support provided to her by the nursery team to support her needs and help her adapt, as well as providing reassurance to myself as a parent, have been superb. The nursery standards are excellent in all respects, and, combined with such a welcoming, positive and proactive environment, makes for a truly outstanding nursery.

The team at Sherborne House Nursery are fantastic. Our daughter always came back happy and fulfilled. Exceptional staff and facilities. Sherborne always has a structured and dynamic educational program with weekly themes and even Maths, English and French from toddler room onwards. Our son gets excited to attend and always comes come clean happy and eager to return. Staff could not be more helpful and

It looks that we have made the right decision to move my daughter to Sherborne House from another local nursery (where safeguarding is a problem). At Sherborne House, safeguarding is ensured. They are also quite accommodating.
My daughter has settled down in two weeks and now started to enjoy her time
there and building friendships. Organised learning and activities is a great advantage as they do benefit from the main school on the same site.
Although they accept 15hrs only (not 30hrs) early year fund per week, their daily charge is lower than our previous nursery. Hence, the actual difference in monthly fees is minimum. Certainly, good value for money.
Overall, happy with Sherborne House Nursery/Preschool.

We have two daughters at Sherborne House Nursery (one in babies and one in pre-reception). We have been very impressed by the nursery and would highly recommend it. The staff are extremely friendly and provide an excellent variety of activities including specialist sport and music lessons for pre-reception.

Our son started two days a week; we have noticed how much he has come on and talks about all his lovely friends and teachers. He loves his lessons and has made great progress with his jammed packed days of activities! He talks about his music and PE lessons as particular favourites! He has really benefitted
from eating with his peers and delighted in telling me that school food “is yummy”! School communication is good, and all staff and specifically key staff are approachable to talk anything through!

The nursery is staffed by an amazing caring team, with excellent training and great interpersonal skills. My son joined the nursery at six months old and has blossomed. The facilities are great. He particularly loves going out into the garden and playing with the myriad of toys and equipment. The nursery
team are wonderful at introducing him to older nursery members and supporting his development - for example, language, movement and behaviour. Very much recommended!

My daughter attends 5 days a week, and I have never been so comfortable with anyone having my child in their care for such a long period of time, including family. The staff are so attentive, work at her ability and have really supported and encouraged her to make a smooth transition from nursery to
preschool. She is only 3, but I can see that she is so ready for school and has been so well equipped from this outstanding environment and nurturing care she receives to be the best version of herself with very strong foundations in place. I can say hand on my heart that they really do go above and beyond and that all staff are very vigilant, attentive, caring and hands-on. They use a range of equipment and media to develop the children's interests and development, and make great observations and sharing of communication is also above and beyond. My daughter has so much fun here and an amazing set of friends - (including with the staff who she thinks are also her best friends).

My daughter joined in the toddler room of Sherborne House Nursery following our relocation. She has been well settled in after two weeks, and now really enjoys going to the nursery every day. The nursery manager is so approachable, and the staff team is brilliant. They are providing informative and
structured education at all times. I am particularly impressed by their science input and French introduction to the toddlers. The nursery also values developing children's independence. My daughter now enjoys taking off her own clothes and starts using the potty. All in all, she is very happy there, and I have recommended the nursery to my friends and neighbours.

Moving our daughter to Sherborne House was a great decision. She loves attending, comes home singing, dancing and speaking some French, and she also eats far better now. The staff are fantastic, it’s been very difficult for them during Covid, but they have coped admirably. We had planned to send her
elsewhere for reception, but have now decided to keep her here till she’s 11!

We have been so glad we moved our children to Sherborne. Both settled in quickly and drop off has become a breeze. We really noticed how engaged, polite and observant all the staff are.
