Dundee Nature Kindergarten

My niece has been at DNK since the acorn room and is now in the seedling room. She loves coming to nursery and will talking about her friends,she been playing with all week. The staff are very caring and have helped to settle her in. She cames into nursery very happily and the staff do daily updates. So we all know she is happy and having fun. They are always a range of different activties on offer when i collect her from nursery. I would recommened this nursery to anyone looking for childcare.

My daughter started October last year and it has been the best thing for her! she is absolutely thriving! the staff are all amazing and have been so thoughtful and kind with helping her settle in and adjust to such a big change of starting nursery. She loves the forest school and garden area and how much they get outside. Dundee Nature Kindergarten has had such a good impact on her, when she comes home she can talk about what she did there and her friends and what they were doing with the staff for hours after and she gets so excited about it, so I think that speaks volumes in itself and I know I definitely picked the right nursery for her. 100% recommend this place for anyone looking for a nursery for their child!

My son has had a wonderful experience at Dundee Nature Kindergarten, when he was in the baby room we got daily updates regarding his meals, nappies, naps and photos with observations. This really reassured my husband and I as we were able to see how he was getting on whilst we were at work. I cannot fault the staff at all they've been incredible, so friendly. It's always a good sign that your child is happy to go in the door and happy enough when you are leaving, this shows me he is relaxed and enjoys being there. In the year that my son has been attending this nursery the staff have been nothing short of amazing. My son has a dairy and soya intolerance and they have been able to cater for this no problem at all. I would absolutely recommend this nursery, if you're considering, book a visit.

Dundee Nature Kindergarten is an outstanding nursery and I proudly recommend it to other parents whenever they ask for nursery suggestions. My daughter has attended since July 2023. She loves the nursery and has fitted in very well. The staff communicate well, provide great observations and are happy to have open discussions to ensure the best for her. She has had a range of medical ups and downs and the nursery’s support has been amazing. They’ve supported her emotionally, administered her medicines daily without fault and adapted meals to meet her needs. The outside facilities are phenomenal and the forest school is a unique experience within the city as a whole. It has opened her up to a whole new range of activities and encouraged her confidence outdoors. Her social skills have improved and she is confident in speaking to all her peers and adults. She knows she can express her feelings and concerns in a safe environment with caring adults around her.

My daughter started in August 2021 when we moved to the area. She didn’t know anyone when she started and she was welcomed like part of their family. She has made friends throughout her time there and experiences that have helped her grow in confidence and learning. She loves the outdoors at Dundee Nature Kindergarten and forest school has been a real bonus but it is the the kindness and support of the staff that have really made her time there. They know her so well and have supported her all the way. She will be off to school in August so nearly time to move on but she will leave with great memories. Cannot recommend highly enough. Such a great nursery and we have loved the time there.

My son started at the nursery in July 2023. I cannot recommend this nursery enough! The staff are amazing and the atmosphere for the children is amazing. My son needs some additional support and the staff have helped and communicated with us every step of the way, he has come on so much since starting!

This nursery has been like a family to us. We have two boys of very different personalities and both of them have grown to love their friends, teachers and all staff in the nursery. We are so lucky to be in this nursery as they have great choice of activities for our children, depending on what they felt like doing. They have a vast and generous compound in comparison to most nurseries, which allowed each age group to be given their own outdoor and (various) indoor activities. Our children had been there in the baby room, the 1-2, the 2-3, and now the 3-5 room. All fun, all loving teachers, and an inclusive and safe environment for their development. The best part of this nursery is the woodlands, where friendships are forged. The woodlands/mud patch is the heart of our children's sharing with us about their day in nursery. It's great that now the woodlands have been transformed into the forest school and our youngest loved it since its introduction.

My 3 year old has attended this nursery since 2020 and we all absolutely love it. All the staff genuinely seem to care for the children and, no matter who it is or what room they work in, they all know him by name and most also know me by name. Whenever I’ve had a concern, staff have been happy to reassure and work with me to provide the best care and environment for my child. The forest school has been such an amazing addition to the nursery, my son nearly always comes home caked in dirt and mud, especially in the summer months and we know he’s had a day of lots of fun. Would recommend this nursery to anyone.

Both of my children started in DNK this year and the experience has been brilliant, right from the settling in. The staff are all attentive and caring. We get regular updates at pick up and drop off and also via the app. The children have developed lots of new skills; there is plenty of opportunity for outdoor learning also. The meals are nutritious and varied! Overall, a fantastic nursery.

The baby room staff have been doing an amazing job for my boy. He was always so happy and especially enjoying his time with the staff members. Management have been really supportive since the beginning as well. Good at problem-solving and understanding my worries. Hope my boy keeps enjoying nursery in 1-2 year old room.

Our daughter has attended NK Dundee for 2 years and it’s been fantastic. We love the staff, the focus on nature, their forest school, healthy food cooked on premises, and the nurture that they offer all of the children. Our daughter thrives and loves every moment of it. Thank you!

DNK is perfect for my child, allowing them to thrive and develop whether indoors, outdoors or in their amazing forest school. All staff, whether they are in your child's room or not, interact with the children and show genuine interest and care in them. There are lots of imaginative, open-ended toys in all rooms and areas for quiet time or messy play. The smell of the freshly cooked food from the on-site kitchen makes me wish I could have my lunch there too!

Excellent staff and management. Our daughter is always being encouraged to be creative and kept busy inside and especially outside. She has learnt an incredible amount over the past 2 years. I’d highly recommend Dundee Nature Kindergarten.

Having enrolled my son in December 2023, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the nurturing environment and thoughtful approach to early childhood education. The staff exudes warmth and professionalism, creating a comforting atmosphere that immediately puts both children and parents at ease. Communication between the nursery and parents is seamless, with regular updates and open-door policy that encourages parental involvement. I wholeheartedly recommend Dundee Nature Kindergarten to parents seeking a nurturing and enriching environment for their little ones.

Right from the start, our family and son were always made to feel welcome. The settling-in sessions were great and never felt rushed. We were offered more if we felt we needed them. The staff are all very friendly. One thing we noticed and loved was that most staff knew his name and who he was early on, which makes it feel more personal. Also, he had been under the weather and without any promoting they were aware and asked how he had been. Just feels like communication amongst staff is excellent. The rooms are set up with so much for the kids to do and explore. Always lots of different activities planned. The selection of food and menu choices are brilliant too and there is always an amazing smell from the kitchen. The other wonderful addition to the nursery is the parent app. It’s great to have it to hand and to see throughout the day how they have got on. Overall, we have had a faultless experience. The staff and management really do make the nursery so fantastic!

Both of my children attend DNK and love it. I was quite anxious initially leaving them for the first time, but the staff and management are excellent. My girl has been going for over a year now and my little boy has recently started. He struggled initially, so extra sessions were quickly arranged to help him settle. My children both love being outside so all the outdoor space and the focus on being outside as much as possible is a real highlight for us.

My two boys have been attending this nursery from a young age and so I have experienced all the different age group rooms on offer and can say that every room has so much on offer for the children to play and explore. The outside space is second to none, it’s my favourite place for both my boys, so much space to run around and enjoy with their friends. Having the forestry area at the back is another win in my books as the kids get to learn outdoor skills with their nature lead who is doing a great job since joining the team. Overall, it’s an incredible nursery with such friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend to anyone for their kids.

The staff have been brilliant at helping my daughter settle as she has been quite anxious being away from us. The facilities the nursery has are amazing. A big thing for us was having a good outdoor area and the forest/play area here is second to none.

Great nursery, my oldest has been attending since she was two and also my twin girls. All starting in the 2-3 room then on to the 3-5 room. The staff are supportive of each of the girl's different needs. The outdoor space and activities are exceptional.

My daughter has been at Dundee Nature Kindergarten for a few months now and she absolutely loves it. She’s come on leaps and bounds since she started, nursery days are definitely her favourite. Her days are filled with loads of different activities which I can see through the app which I love! Each and every staff member is so attentive and genuinely caring, management always goes above and beyond too. The variety of food is fantastic and always varies. Genuinely one of our best decisions was to go with Dundee Nature Kindergarten, I’d always recommend it to everyone!
