A FRIENDLY AND WELL-ESTABLISHED NURSERY IN BISHOPBRIGGS

Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare in Glasgow has been at the heart of the community for over 30 years and the nursery team are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare to local families in the community.

The well-established day nursery in Bishopbriggs is designed to support your child’s development from 3 months to 5 years. As well as having five large, spacious and bright separate playrooms, they also have three all-weather gardens providing different areas that can be utilised for each child’s age and stage of development.

There are areas where younger children can explore and be curious, and areas for imaginative experiences and physical challenges for older children. Particular favourites are the trampoline garden and mud kitchen, where children develop their motor skills and can enjoy letting their imagination run wild.

The Nursery staff are passionate about children’s development, and want to nurture your child’s love of learning, fun, creativity and exploration by providing a variety of resources and activities. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. The Nursery focus's on key academic skills such as early literacy, science and mathematics, while also encouraging children’s interest in food and art.

At Bishopbriggs nursery, the team value parents as partners in their children’s learning, and foster good relationships with all parents through their many home-link activities. Parents also take part in parents’ evenings, charity events and social events such as graduation day, the Christmas show and Summer Fayre.

My son has been attending the nursery for almost a year and loves it. The staff are incredible as are all the activities for the children. He also loves the meals provided and all the outdoor space. I would definitely recommend this nursery to others.

The staff provide excellent activities for the children to take part in. My child always talks about what he does at nursery and loves to come each day. I love the learning wall that is in place as I can see what he has done everyday and discuss this with him.

My 14-month-old son has just recently started attending Bright Horizons 3 days per week.
We found the settling in process to be beneficial in getting to know staff and the nursery routine. Our son has already formed a strong bond with his key worker and other members of staff within the room.

The

rooms are light and spacious and filled with many engaging toys of good quality and they all look well maintained.

We definitely feel engaged and involved as parents even by the manager who showed us around the nursery and by the office staff who greet myself and my son every morning.

There have been a lot of positive changes to the nursery, staff are great and very patient with the children. My daughter is learning new things on a regular basis. Nothing is a problem when asking something from staff.

Both my daughters have attended the nursery from the babies room and have had an excellent experience from the start. The staff in the babies room did a great job settling and made us feel very comfortable. Our eldest is now in the preschool room and is brimming with confidence and enthusiasm, ready
to start school in August.

I've been really happy with the care my daughter has received from the staff. She's loved coming to nursery and meeting new friends.
It's been great seeing her try new things and following her progress on the online journals.
My only reservations have been being unable to get my daughter in an early
or late session on the odd occasion I needed to and the cost of care.
We'll be sad to move our daughter on in January but thank you for everything.

The enthusiasm of the staff is the biggest asset of this nursery. The teamwork in the Twos room is outstanding and the creativity and energy of the staff in 3-5s is second to none. I feel that my children are known well and not lost among the other children. Well done!

W moved our child from another nursery to Bishopbriggs Childcare Centre and have been very happy with our experience there. Our child does a variety of activities and regularly goes out on trips out of the nursery. She seems to have settled in very well and the ladies all seem very caring and look after
her.

My child has had a fantastic experience ay Bishopbriggs Childcare. Staff are always do friendly and approachable. My child's keyworker knows him so well (as do the other workers in the room to be honest). I love seeing the variety of activities that he takes part in on the online learning journey. Since
my child is my first born, I was apprehensive about putting him into nursery, however I have been 100% put at ease due to the staffs knowledge and kindness.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.772)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.772) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.515 for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.515
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.257 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 126 number of registered child places is 25.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 25.2 = 0.357
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
