A FRIENDLY AND WELL-ESTABLISHED NURSERY IN BISHOPBRIGGS

Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare in Glasgow has been at the heart of the community for over 30 years and the nursery team are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare to local families in the community.

The well-established day nursery in Bishopbriggs is designed to support your child’s development from 3 months to 5 years. As well as having five large, spacious and bright separate playrooms, they also have three all-weather gardens providing different areas that can be utilised for each child’s age and stage of development.

There are areas where younger children can explore and be curious, and areas for imaginative experiences and physical challenges for older children. Particular favourites are the trampoline garden and mud kitchen, where children develop their motor skills and can enjoy letting their imagination run wild.

The Nursery staff are passionate about children’s development, and want to nurture your child’s love of learning, fun, creativity and exploration by providing a variety of resources and activities. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. The Nursery focus's on key academic skills such as early literacy, science and mathematics, while also encouraging children’s interest in food and art.

At Bishopbriggs nursery, the team value parents as partners in their children’s learning, and foster good relationships with all parents through their many home-link activities. Parents also take part in parents’ evenings, charity events and social events such as graduation day, the Christmas show and Summer Fayre.

Honestly, a great nursery; the only downside is that they hardly ever upload observations of my child on the app. He's been there since March 2023 and he's had 10 maybe? I've talked to key workers and management and they all say they will update more and it never happens, or they say they've got several
to put on the app and they never do.

Staff are great and really attentive. I like the emphasis on outdoor play, facilities seem in good condition and the more rustic type play area outside where obstacles can be built and then played with is really good.

I absolutely love this nursery so does my son.
When he started his speech wasn't that great and really didn't play with anyone.
He's been there and his speech is amazing, he's full of life and looks forward to going. The staff are fantastic and nothing is ever to much bother.
One of the teaches teaches
him so many things and always asks for him, he bring his guitar in and sings with the kids which is my sons fav thing to do.
Another teacher my son always says gives me cuddles and let's me paint
My son is also fascinated with another teacher because she's pregnant and he says she is my best friend
Another teacher is always happy and smiling, if you have any worries she will address them.
I can't mention everyone but wish I could. My boy is now leaving to attend school and I don't want him to leave here.
They have brought him on leaps and bounds.
Best nursery around. Thanks for looking after my son.

Our son has been at Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare for a little over a year now and I can't be more complimentary. It's always a daunting choice, as a parent, on whether you're making the right choice but I can gladly say we're so happy with what we've seen. The room teams
are excellent, both in the 2's and now the pre-school. They seem to really care and make really good connections with the kids and our son talks really positively about the team after his days which is the best sign. You can see the structure in their learning and get great feedback at the end of the day. The management team have also been fantastic, engaging with parents and taking on suggestions through the parent committee, the recent summer fun day was a roaring success! Really positive overall opinion of this nursery, our younger son is starting at the end of the year and my nephew is already in the baby room, thank you Bright Horizons team.

Great facilities and lovely staff, who go the extra length to come up with great variety of activities for children across all rooms. Our little ones get to do a lot of outdoor activities, including exploring the facilities of both gardens and the mud kitchen. The food options are great, our girl loves
it here.

The freeplay aspect is especially nice. The staff are very attentive, our daughter has settled very quickly.
Coming from another school where she was from 1-year-old, the settling was a significant concern.

My daughter has only been attending here since October but I couldn’t be happier with the care she has experienced, she has come on tremendously in the last few months and I’m so proud of her, I attended this nursery when I was a little girl and although different owners, it brings a lot of comfort
knowing she’s in the same building I was! All the staff that are in twos or I have met are absolutely brilliant and so kind and caring, I don’t worry about her attending nursery as I have complete faith in everyone who takes care of her, excited to see what the next few years have in store for her! Thank you Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare and everyone who looks after my daughter, you are all amazing. The app is amazing as well, I am constantly checking to see what she’s been up to, I’m always so jealous of her meals and snacks!

My daughter attends Bright Horizons Nursery and goes there 3 times a week and she totally loves it and all the staff are lovely, they make sure that all the children are a priority. They also made an app and its showing what your child is doing and what they have eaten and how many times they have been
changed and they will take pictures. I would like more pictures of my daughter thanks.

My daughter has recently started this nursery and I feel all staff, including management, have been amazing with her. The staff are so loving, caring and happy all the time. It initially took two weeks for her to settle in and now she is really enjoying the nursery and is always smiling when I drop
her off and collect her. She has been eating all her meals and plays with all her peers. As she is an only child, I always felt she might not interact well with other children; however, she has been doing so well. Every time I make the staff aware of any concerns I have with her such as constipation, tiredness or when she isn’t well, they always take that into account and go above and beyond to help her. The app is brilliant and the staff always update it with meals the kids have, any nappy changes and sleep times. The meals are always different, good and healthy, prepared by the chef. My key worker is great too and always updates the app with my daughter's progress. The nursery is fab.

My child is in the baby room and the staff in there are the best, Especially one member of staff in particular! They are always so helpful and cheery, my wee girl just loves when it's nursery day. We also love it as the nursery provides snacks, lunch and dinner so it makes it so simple. The meals they
provide are so good as well, they probably eat better than me. They also use the app to keep you up to date with everything that's going on that day and you often get photos of your wee one enjoying their day. I would give Bright Horizons in Bishopbriggs 10/10.

Our child has been in from 2 years old to pre school age and we have had a very positive experience. The staff are excellent in communicating with the parents, the facilities are good and good garden space and trips to local parks. My child loves going to nursery to play and learn with her friends and
looks forward to seeing the teachers. I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

I have used this nursery over many years for both of my children. Over this time we have seen many challenges with a high turnover of staff including management. I can, hand on heart, say that the staff who have worked with my children are amazing. My priority for my children is that they are happy
and the staff go above and beyond to ensure this. I know that my children's best interests are the focus of the staff and my kids just love them. Granted, there are frustrations when childcare plans have to be rearranged due to illness and building issues but I appreciate the work the staff do to nurture the wellbeing and learning of my kids.

Nursery care/room staff is excellent. Our daughter talks about the staff and looks forward to seeing them. The outside play area is very run down considering the space available and the monthly money paid. The activities are good but can be repetitive. More variety would be good. Helpfulness from the
office/management could be improved.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.772)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.772) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.515 for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.515
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.257 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Bishopbriggs Early Learning and Childcare is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 126 number of registered child places is 25.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 25.2 = 0.357
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
