My son has been attending Step by Step at Maryhill for over a year since he was one and I am very pleased with the care they provide. They are happy to receive feedback and have helped my son to develop his language skills and fine motor skills. The children get to spend time outdoors both in the nursery garden and in the nearby parks. Overall very happy with the nursery and would recommend it to other parents.

Wonderful nursery! Staff are excellent, helpful, and attentive. My son especially loves the sensory activities. There is a helpful app that gives you details of their day which really helped me with the nursery transition as a new mum.

Step by step nursery Maryhill is a brilliant nursery with caring and helpful staff. They really helped our eldest settle in when he started nursery again after a long break due to Covid lockdowns. They have always communicated quickly and been proactive with feedback. We would highly recommend!

Couldn’t recommend Step by Step Maryhill enough. The girls are great with my little boy. Keep me updated regularly throughout the day which is a great peace of mind from starting from a young age. The picture and daily updates are great. The things my little boy has learned in there have been amazing and they know the right steps he should be at for his age. Girls are lovely too!

Lovely nursery! The staff are great and very friendly. The communication is fantastic, especially given recent times with Covid-19. Very reliable. The app that they use is really good. It's so nice getting updates and seeing some photos. The activities and crafts that they do are great, such as water play, books, songs and painting for cards. I am very delighted to put my daughter in this nursery. After coming off maternity leave and restarting job, I was scared to leave my little one, but the staff at Step by Step nursery are brilliant. They have done a wonderful job with my little one. I must say that my daughter has been provided with the best care from them. Her weaning was not great, but Step by Step nursery has helped with that too. I can not thank you enough guys. You are very compassionate and caring. I and my husband are very happy with your care. I have two children at Step by Step. My eldest is 3 and a half in the rainbow room and my youngest is 14 months in the baby bears room. They both love nursery and have settled really well with their key workers and all the staff at the nursery. The nursery is great at communicating with an app that shows me observations, updates about what they have eaten, nappies and all sorts. They have catered really well to the dietary requirements for my children and I can tell they have loving attachments at the core of what they do. They have recently done up the outdoor space a lot with great new experiences and resources that my son really loves. Thanks to all the staff at Step by Step for the care and attention to my boys!

My daughter loves Step by Step so much. A caring environment that I feel safe dropping her off each day. All the staff know all the children so feels like a great community. I get pictures and other creations my child has made which is special and I think she eats better, more diverse foods than I eat! Very jealous. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter attends the nursery and absolutely loves it. My eldest daughter who is now at school also attended the nursery, and we couldn’t fault them. The management and practitioners are excellent with the kids and extremely approachable. There is a large range of activities for the kids to take part in. The nursery has a Forrest school programme, which is amazing and out with the COVID restrictions, they offer swimming lessons as well as singing and rhyme classes. My daughter is quite shy, but since she has attended the nursery, her confidence has soared! I put this down to the excellent care and encouragement she receives at Step by Step. I 100% recommend the nursery.

My son and I have both had a very positive experience at Step by Step Maryhill. The staff are professional, enthusiastic and engage well with all the children. The activities and meals provided are varied and they are more than willing and able to provide additional support, like in the case of my son who was born prematurely and has a mild developmental delay. Having moved my son from a different nursery after concerns around the care he was receiving, I am now so much happier and know he is in good hands and having fun. I would thoroughly recommend Step by Step to other parents.

Our little boy has attended Step by Step for over three years and has loved his time there. The staff are friendly and communicate well in person and through app updates too. There is a lovely sense of community at the nursery, with opportunities for parents or family to get involved throughout the year. The forest school programme (at the children's wood) and swimming lessons are a real bonus, and our little one particularly enjoys music class too. These activities were a draw for us and helped to break up the more traditional nursery setting. The staff make the most of the yard areas (no lawn/green space) and spend lots of time outdoors. They regularly take walks along the canal, go to the Botanics or a trip to the shops, and (pre covid) visits to the local care home too. It's a lovely wee nursery.

My son has been at Step by Step Maryhill for 10 months, and I have only good things to say about it. The staff are friendly, professional and caring. We get regular updates during the day via the ParentZone app. During the initial settling in period, staff were reassuring and patient (with him and me!). There's been a great effort over the last year to make improvements: the menus have been reviewed and improved, and the outdoor areas have been upgraded. Pricing is reasonable, especially as all meals and snacks are included, which is a great relief! My son obviously loves his time at nursery, eats well, and has made great progress with his speech since returning after lockdown! During the pandemic, the staff have been great at keeping us informed and safe, and lots of effort was made to stay engaged with the kids during the lockdown. I'd recommend Step by Step to anyone.

Sam has 25 years experience working in childcare and continues to support the rest of the team in ensuring our nursery provides a safe and stimulating learning environment for children to develop and thrive. Sam holds an SCQF Level 8 in Forest and Outdoor Learning as well as her Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Karin has 20 years experience in working with young children. She is passionate and knowledgable about babies, pre-birth to three years. Karin has a shared vision and commitment to supporting our youngest children, focusing on learning through play and environmental influences.
Amanda began working at Step by Step in 2016, beginning as a practitioner in Maryhill she quickly graduated to the role of manager of our out of school club. Since 2022 she has been in the role of manager at our nursery in Maryhill using her expertise and experience to make our service at Maryhill the best it can be.
