Abbey Nursery Houston is a long established private children’s nursery situated within the rural village of Houston, Renfrewshire, offering flexible childcare sessions to suit each family's personal requirements.

Graded at Outstanding for staffing and children's care and support; this highlights the high quality of service provided by their strong team of experienced, qualified practitioners who have been with the nursery for many years and offer a warm, welcoming and caring environment for the children with lots of fun, stimulating activities each day to help them develop their individual talents.

The nursery is purpose-built with bright, spacious playrooms, and a homely feel for the children within a safe and secure environment. Nature trails and woodland walks are on their doorstep for the children to enjoy on a regular basis.

It is in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to provide preschool education and offers an exciting and stimulating programme of activities such as Forest Schools, multi-sports coaching, music and drama, Spanish and French.

I have had two children attend Abbey Nursery since 2020. The facilities, staff and care provided have been consistently high. Both my children are in Abbey full-time, the curriculum has added their confidence and development. It is clear to see how much the children enjoy their time at Abbey and I would
highly recommend the facility.
*I have given 4/5 stars for Value For Money, however I do not believe this is not reflective of Abbey alone. Childcare is extremely expensive across the board. I have experienced two other great nurseries with my first child due to a relocation in 2020.

Our child started nursery six months ago as a 9-month-old. The staff at Abbey Nursery are incredible and from the outset eased our nerves of leaving our baby. The breadth of activities that our child does really helps her develop quickly in an environment that fosters love and encouragement. Parents
are actively kept informed and as a father, I am so pleased the traditional parenting stereotypes never crops up at Abbey. The nursery is a truly exceptional place that my daughter loves and we have complete faith in with amazing staff, especially our key worker!

I have two children that attend Abbey. My eldest always enjoys the activities they do, especially the sports coaching. All his key workers throughout his 4 years have been great and very supportive of his needs and development. Although my youngest has only been going for 7 months, he runs in every
day and always enjoys himself. His keyworker is always happy to welcome him every morning and gives us a full report of his activities every day.

I have been using 'Abbey Houston Children's Nursery' since April 2012 and they are such a brilliant nursery; it feels like an extension to our family. I have two children that they look after and they both love their nursery which is the best testament to the great staff and loving environment. There
are lots of fun and educational activities and 'Abbey Houston Children's Nursery' always tries to have outdoor activities whenever the weather allows, which I think is really important. The staff are so loving and kind to the children and the manager is helpful, friendly and takes such an interest in all the children and their families. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Really happy with the individualised care and attention my son (and daughter before) have received from this nursery. My son is big for his age and I was concerned he would be ready for school before he was due to go. I raised these concerns with the nursery and they were extremely understanding and
worked with me to make plans to keep him busy and appropriately challenged over the next year. His behaviour had been slipping but now he is more stimulated, it is much improved!

Great nursery staff.
Recognition of illness.
Good room transition.
Always available to answer queries.
My only criticism would be the car park - busy at times but that is impossible to deal
with.

My daughter started at Abbey six months ago and took a while to settle. Throughout this period, the staff were patient, kind and reassuring. Now I struggle to get my little one to leave at the end of her session. We always receive a detailed written(and verbal) handover so that we know exactly what
she has played with, eaten etc. My daughter is very happy at Abbey and flourishing, I am so pleased we sent her there.
