All staff are great with the kids, keep them really stimulated and busy...they don't even realise that they are learning!


The nursery constantly updates and changes activities and the facilities to make sure they are up to date and continually challenge the kids.

Fabulous nursery. They are genuinely interested in promoting kids well being. They provide great facilities and a big garden plus home cooked meals. The staff are all fabulous. We love the forrest schools programme and day trips.

Our child started Pear Tree Nursery a year ago and we cannot believe the difference in his social skill and confidence. We are extremely satisfied with our choice of nursery. Pear Tree's facilities and staff working with children are fantastic.

Both our children attend the nursery. We have been very happy with the standard care of our children. The staff are caring, genuine and strive to make the children feel part of the nursery. Both our children are thriving in the nursery environment, providing them opportunities to learn not only on their
own but with other children and supported by the practitioners. It feels like an extension of our home providing our children with the confidence to explore in a safe, secure and encouraging environment. The nursery is continually investing in their staff and for the resources, they use for the children. This is important for both parties, as it continues to inspire the practitioners to bring the best experience each day for our children.

Fantastic nursery, seem to really enjoy having fun with the children and seeing them develop. My child loves going to Pear Tree and it is great to log on and see what they have been up to with photos and videos.

My child loves this nursery. I am very happy with the choice of activities and tasks that they participate in on a daily basis. The staff are lovely, it's very clean and well equipped. The garden area is of decent size with a varied selection of outdoor toys to play with.

My son has been attending Pear Tree since he was 10 months old. He is currently in the 3-5 room. All of the staff are dedicated to their different roles and put in a lot of extra effort to ensure the children are happy, challenged and learning. Also, they are first aid trained which is very important.
The room and resources make use of a lot of natural resources and my son loved especially going to forest schools. An in-house chef provides healthy meals and healthy snacks are provided as well. The garden is large and provides many different resources for the children to explore including my son's favourite, the mud kitchen! Management are easily approachable with any issues and concerns and provide an open door policy. Overall, we are very happy and confident to send our son to Pear Tree and know that he is in safe hands with the staff who work there.

Staff are enthusiastic during handovers and appear genuinely delighted in my daughter's achievements.
My daughter enjoys nursery a great deal. I asked her what she would like to do on Saturday and she said 'Nursery'.


I had a slight reservation about my daughters transition from the baby room

to the 2-3 room since the space wasn't the same standard as I felt had already been achieved in the baby room. Though I did not raise this concern with staff or management the issue was addressed over Christmas. This indicates a management commitment to maintain the nursery to a high standard throughout. The room looks much brighter and more welcoming now.
In terms of safeguarding, I have been impressed with the updated notices regards entry to the nursery and, likewise, the staff response to ensuring guidelines are adhered to.

I have used Pear Tree for my son and now my daughter and I am always happy with the welcome provided and the overall feel of the nursery.
I am happy to have had Pear Tree as a feature of their early years.

I'm very impressed by the wide range of activities my child is given the opportunity to participate in. The staff are all very friendly and caring towards the children and there is always a good atmosphere.

I feel so comfortable with the staff at Pear Tree, they show a genuine warmth towards my 2 children. They are actively listening, very warm and reassuring. I leave them knowing they will have a great time and have done a huge variety of things by the time I go back to collect them. They come home tired
but very happy. They are firm but fair, asking the children to be kind to others and look after each other, sharing well.

The Pear Tree Nursery has been a fantastic nursery for my child. He has really blossomed there due to the great staff and great welcoming friendly atmosphere they create. The facilities at the nursery are fantastic with an amazing and safe outdoor area for learning play. The staff have all been fantastic
and have contributed greatly to the positive development of my child. They have provided a great variety of activities and learning for my child. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery to all parents.

My daughter was in the baby room when she first stared, she is now in tweenies and she absolutely loves it. The staff are lovely, funny and professional, always smiling. Great staff!

My daughter has attended Pear Tree for 2 and a half years now and I couldn't ask for anything better. She is kept busy with lots of fun and educational activities, and the large secure garden is absolutely brilliant with lots to explore. The children all get lovely cooked meals and healthy snacks provided
which she loves.
The staff are brilliant, so friendly and professional, and it's obvious that all the children love them. Each day they will spend time telling me what my daughter has been up to and what she has eaten etc. Overall it's just a brilliant nursery!

I am very happy with service provided. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The teaching is very good and there are lots of different activities for the children to take part in. The garden is large with lots of toys and it's used on a daily basis meaning the children get fresh air and exercise. The
meals plans are published in advance and there is a good variety in the menu.

Pear Tree Nursery is excellent and would happily recommend it. Our daughter had been going for to the nursery for 18 months. The staff and facilities in both the baby and tweenie room are fantastic. Our daughter enjoys playing in the large garden, particularly the large sandpit and the balance bikes.
She also enjoys the food - often eating lots of things she doesn't at home and trying interesting new foods. All the staff are friendly, approachable and treat our daughter as an individual.

Excellent nursery and would have no hesitation recommending it to others. Having moved to the area fairly recently, all the staff have been extremely welcoming and friendly. I feel that my son is receiving the best possible care whilst he is attending.

I have two boys (aged 2 and 5 years). Although my older son is now at school, both boys have attended, and my younger still does attend, the Pear Tree Nursery. I use the nursery services on a full-time basis so getting the right nursery was extremely important to me. As soon as my two children started
at the nursery in November 2015, I knew I had found the right place.


My older son had been in an Edinburgh city centre nursery since he was 10 months old and I was initially concerned that a move to a new nursery would be hard for him. It wasn't at all! The staff were very understanding of our situation and welcomed us with open arms and did all they could to settle my children. I rate the staff very highly. They all clearly love their job and do all they can to make the nursery environment stimulating and fun. I also rate the food very highly. It is healthy and nourishing and my son eats extremely well every day. As the food is freshly cooked on the premises it really makes a difference.

My son developed a really friendly relationship with most regular staff in the tweenie room.
I always felt the staff really cared about my son.

Colette joined Pear Tree Nursery in 201 and has her SVQ 3 level in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. Colette previously worked in a playgroup and volunteered at Rainbows. Colette is a mother of two and she enjoys getting away in her caravan, going for nice walks and cycles on her bike.

Emma joined the nursery in June 2014 from school as an apprentice in the Owl Babies room. In September 2015, Emma won Nursery Newcomer of the Year. She qualified in May 2016 with her SVQ 3. Emma moved to the Fox Cubs room in September 2017 to become the room supervisor. Emma has obtained her certificates in Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid and many more. Emma’s passion is to input schematic play into the Fox Cubs room to allow a different interpretation of the children’s play.
