Corner House Nursery Banchory is located in the beautiful village of Banchory just 20 miles from Aberdeen, in a rural position surrounded by woodland walks, parks and the river.

The nursery provides care for children aged from birth to five years and has four dedicated playrooms for each age group. Each playroom is designed specifically for each age group with plenty of quality resources and equipment.

There are substantial outdoor areas and a wooded area offering opportunities for outdoor learning.

They have a dedicated team of practitioners who have a range of skills, qualifications and experiences. Staff value each child as an individual and plan learning opportunities to enable them to grow and flourish. A strong emphasis is placed on developing life long skills and children are encouraged to be active participants in the planning process.

There is a genuine sense of partnership between the staff team, children and their families.

Included in fees; quality early year’s care and education, healthy meals and snacks, speech and language therapy, e-learning journals, interactive smartboard.

Offer funded hours for 3-5-year-olds as well as eligible 2-year-olds and now offer extended funded hours, up to 22.5 hours per week.

Celebrates festivals throughout the year and makes regular outings in the local area. A graduation ceremony takes place when children are ready to move on to primary school.

I am very happy with how my 2-year-old daughter has settled into the nursery. She started when she was 18 months old and attends the nursery full time. All the staff know my husband and I on a first name basis and we are very pleased with the care our daughter receives.

Wonderful helpful staff. Don’t have any complaints.


The only recommendation I could suggest for the company for future development is upgrading inside and out and expansion of building for extra classroom space.

My son has been attending Celtic Cross since October 17. His speech development has improved dramatically and he has grown in confidence. The staff have made sure my son has settled in well and he has formed strong relationships with them.

Overall, a good experience for my children, but improvements could be made. For example in the outdoor area. The learning is not always taken from the children and I often feel that my child is not being challenged enough ie. looking at colours when he's 3 and could have done the same activity a year
before.
I don't particularly appreciate soup and sandwich for dinner - think this should be at lunchtime instead - and my children both want food when they come home. I don't want to highly criticise as on the whole my children have been welcomed and cared for but I think it could be an excellent nursery with a few changes made.

Having a 2-year-old with a history of multiple allergies, I was nervous about the idea of the nursery - not just the usual settling issues but also managing her allergies, especially at mealtimes. I now wonder what all the worry was about!


The team at Celtic Cross have been absolutely amazing. We

have been so impressed by their understanding, support and friendly professionalism. All the staff have such an experienced, caring, family-focused approach which is evident from discussions with the manager through to the nursery cook. We were supported in a very gradual settling in the process with our daughter - as a result of the settling in went more smoothly than we could have dared to imagine and our daughter thoroughly enjoys nursery.


While the facilities might not look as new and pristine as other newer nurseries, this genuinely isn't as important as a happy, healthy child is so well cared for with a team she bonded with so quickly and trusts. Would highly recommend Celtic Cross to any parent.

I love Celtic Cross Nursery. The staff are friendly and most have been there for a long time. They really get to know the children and families and both my children have thrived under their care.


It’s nice to have a nursery that is flexible if your plans change at short notice and that you know your

children are well looked after.


I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We cannot fault the level of care and how helpful and understanding the staff are. We have noticed such a positive reaction in our son and how well he has come on since starting the nursery. He always comes back so happy and seems to have such a good time. He also talks a lot about his day. The way
he is learning new things and being encouraged shows in the things he can do and his level of ability for his age.

My son really enjoys Celtic Cross. They have lots of outside time where there is both space to run around and plenty to play with. The children are allowed freedom of choice as well as some more structured learning e.g this month is all about boats. Overall, the nursery is welcoming and I know that

My partner and I had a bit of a bad experience at another nursery with our youngest daughter. We reluctantly put her to Celtic Cross as we really NEEDED childcare.. and I am absolutely delighted we did this!! Celtic Cross have restored our faith in nursery childcare!!! An amazing place with wonderful
staff. My daughter is in the robins and she adores every member of staff in there. The girls that work there are just incredible people with so much patience and love for the children. My daughter's confidence and speech have developed so much!! The children get so many opportunities for new activities, outside and messy play and are always fed well!
The manager that runs the nursery is wonderful and extremely helpful also! It really is a lovely place!

My child started nursery when she was 18 months old and has loved it. All the staff have taken the time to get to know her even though they're not involved with her on a daily basis. They can't do enough to ensure that all kids and parents/carers are happy. I've also had help whilst going through
a difficult period with behaviour, which for me was great! We'll all be quite sad when my child leaves Celtic cross as they all become our extended family.
Activities are great and my child is always exhausted after a session at nursery.
Management are excellent and very accommodating.
All in all an excellent nursery and I'm proud my child is having the best care possible!

This is simply a fantastic nursery - the staff really go the extra mile to care for the children. We have two children at Celtic Cross and they have really flourished whilst there. The staff are kind and attentive but also firm when necessary and generally work extremely hard to make each day fun and
interesting for the children. The buildings are not purpose-built and therefore are a bit unusual in terms of layout but in practice they offer warm cosy play-spaces for the children. The nursery has both ample outdoor space and also a great location on the banks of the river for educational walks and exercise.
