Busy Bees Halbeath operates a professional child care service for the 0-5s and encourages the healthy mental and physical development of all children. The use of well-chosen resources and the skills of key workers ensure that all time spent with both parents and young ones is precious and leads to carefully structured progress for each child.

Imaginative play and numerous activities are provided within this comfortable nursery, through the inspiration and encouragement of the well-qualified staff. Visits from outside organisations are regularly encouraged; these often provide presentations on various specialist topics such as healthy eating and wildlife, for example.

My son loves his nursery. He is full-time Monday to Friday and is always happy to go. he eats and sleeps well and is clearly very much at home. I never worry about the level of care and attention he gets at nursery. I feel his needs for socialisation and stimulation are well met. His milestones and
development are tracked and reviewed regularly. The staff help him to communicate with hand signs as his verbal communication is still a work in progress. The staff are interested and invested in his development, communication and general development.

My son has been a 'Busy Bee' for two years now and I am always happy with the care and attention shown to my son, he attends 3 days per week and is thriving. He has been taught impeccable manners and is very good at helping and tidying away after himself.
He is happy and tells me all about the exciting
activities he gets up to each day.
Big thanks to all the staff especially to the manager for making the new system (temp checks) less scary and handling the current situation so well

Both my children attend/attended Busy Bees Nursery. I feel they listen to you and have an excellent facility for children. I feel very safe knowing my children are in good care and know that they are enjoying themselves and are getting a good start in life in regards to learning lots of new things such
as learning to could and how to write.

My son has been attending this nursery for over 2 years now, starting in the baby room and now in the preschool class. I cannot fault the staff. Everything is tailored to the individual child. The staff have always taken a great interest in my child's hobbies and passions and incorporated it into their
everyday activities e.g we live on a dairy farm and he comes home with pictures and paintings of tractors etc.
The menu is amazing, my son eats a variety of foods that he sometimes wouldn't eat at home. Their communication is also excellent. They are always so helpful.

I have been overwhelmingly impressed by our entire experience of Busy Bees Nursery Halbeath. Having enrolled my children in the toddler and baby rooms, under somewhat difficult circumstances, we have experienced nothing short of excellent care, attention and support with every interaction and session.
My children are excited to attend and are visibly thriving in their time at the nursery. I couldn't ask for more.
The staff appear happy and confident in their work and genuinely care about my children's wellbeing and development. This means I am confident and secure that I am leaving them in a safe and fun environment and can get on with my day without worry.

Our daughter has settled into nursery quickly. The nursery staff are extremely caring and she has developed a good relationship with all the staff in her room. We have found them to be approachable and very helpful in handling any concerns we have. We find the nursery to be a safe and nurturing environment
which our daughter looks forward to attending.

My son talks of meeting new friends at nursery, which I am encouraged to hear. Seems happy whenever I drop him off or collect. Since starting nursery, he is blossoming.
Although being pro-active, I did not like to hear that staff were providing toys. This is expected by the nursery to cover additional
toys and learning material.

We have had our children at Busy Bees, Halbeath since 2013 and think the staff there do a fantastic job. We have complete peace of mind when our child is at nursery knowing that he is learning and enjoying all the time.
Everything from the facilities to the food, to the helpful staff and the activities
they do, are great and we would have no hesitation in recommending Busy Bees to other parents.

Staff very friendly and caring. Attentive to children's needs and ensure they get to know them well. Could do with more outdoor activities and improved outdoor space. Food good but more fresh fruit and vegetables would be good. Overall, have been very pleased with the nursery.

My son is currently in the baby room, where the staff have been excellent at settling my son. As staffing is consistent, my son has bonded with all of the baby room staff. The staff support his routines and preferences and provide detailed feedback at the end of the day. Any requests or suggestions
I have made have been taken on board immediately.
There is a great variety of food throughout the day, all cooked fresh on site, most of which my son enjoys.
The management and finance team have been very helpful with regards to fees, help with childcare vouchers and any other questions I have about the nursery.

My daughter is now 8 months old but has been attending Busy Bees Halbeath since she was 8 weeks old. From her first day, I could tell that Busy Bees Halbeath was going to be the right nursery for her.
The staff who care for my daughter are attentive, caring and dedicated. I love hearing all the stories
about her at the end of the day when I collect her.
Busy Bees have been instrumental in my daughter's development. I love how they challenge her each day and work on areas of development with me in tandem...right now we're trying for crawling !!
My daughter gets a varied food menu and all dietary requirements are catered for.
My daughter loves going to nursery and I love that I can get on my with the day without fear or worry about her day. I have complete trust in my daughter's key worker and the team who care for her. I know she's in good hands and I would (and have) recommend Busy Bees to anyone who wants a safe, happy and fun environment for their child's care.

My twins have been in Busy Bees nursery for 2 years now, I cannot express how much I am grateful for everything the staff at Busy Bee's does and has done for my children. All staff in the building are amazing and always have such a positive, friendly and caring attitude. I am always informed of what
my children have been up to during the day. (Which is always a lot of different learning and fun experiences) and also what they have eaten during the day (which is a lovely varied healthy menu). Busy Bees is by far the best nursery I know. Thank you Busy Bees.

My son currently attends the nursery and has been there since he was 10 months old. My other son also attended the nursery for 4+ years but is now in primary 2 at his local school. Having been at the nursery for so long, the staff are more like friends and I would class them as my 2nd family. They have
been amazing, always trying to help and offer the right support when needed. It has been an amazing journey.
My younger son was born with Downs Syndrome and life from that day has been a roller coaster of emotions, however, the nursery and staff have been brilliant with him, and he has grown into a very contented independent individual who is due to start mainstream school in August this year. It will be very sad when we leave the nursery but I would personally like to thank all the staff for their help and support and for having bags of patience! There are certain staff who have been fantastic - thank you very much from the bottom of my heart - you know who you are!

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.682)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.682) out of 10 for Busy Bees Halbeath is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.655 for Busy Bees Halbeath is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.655
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.027 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Halbeath is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.327
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
