Busy Bees Halbeath operates a professional child care service for the 0-5s and encourages the healthy mental and physical development of all children. The use of well-chosen resources and the skills of key workers ensure that all time spent with both parents and young ones is precious and leads to carefully structured progress for each child.

Imaginative play and numerous activities are provided within this comfortable nursery, through the inspiration and encouragement of the well-qualified staff. Visits from outside organisations are regularly encouraged; these often provide presentations on various specialist topics such as healthy eating and wildlife, for example.

My daughter will be leaving to go to school after summer and I just want to express what an amazing experience we have had during her time at nursery thanks to the staff at busy bees halbeath. The staff go over and above way to provide the best care and education for the children, my child has grown
so much in skills and confidence thanks to the nursery. Even with so many children in their care I really feel like they have all got to know my daughter so well and are so helpful and friendly. Nothing seems too much for them, they even put on special events outside of nursery time like Easter egg hunt, Christmas fair and even the parents are thought of with events for Mother's Day/Father's Day. I could not have wished for better experience for my daughter.

Our daughter as went to Busy Bees for a couple of years and we are genuinely sad that she has to leave for school soon. All of the staff have been fantastic. We've enjoyed reading about all of the activities she has been getting up to with all of her friends, running free with her pink ladies. Thanks
to all of the learning and development Busy Bees has provided she is now more than ready for school!

Busy bees halbeath is a wonderful nursery choice in Dunfermline, with great location links to motorway. Each room is filled with fun toys, activities, outdoor spaces and development chances for each child. Strong key worker bonds with the kids, regular app updates with day events/photos, milestone updates
and parents evening for all ages (months old to 5yrs). Nursery staff are so kind and attentive to kids, customising to each child's needs, they create fun & loving environments and give detailed handover info back to parents.
Management seek feedback, invite participation to parent council, share improvement plans, publish newsletters, reminders to parents and reinforce standards.
The nursery makes significant effort at valentines, Mothers + Father's Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and graduation for preschoolers which are so appreciated!
Highly recommend all aspects of busy bees halbeath - thank you years of impressive service to our family!

I cannot speak highly enough about Busy Bees Halbeath. They have supported my family through a really difficult time in the last 9 months and the impact to my toddler has been minimal. My child's key worker treats him as though he's part of the family. I have no hesitations leaving my son.
The food
always sounds delicious and smells great. My son loves it. It's a rare day when he doesn't eat everything on offer at Busy Bees.
The children also get so much outdoors time. This is really important to me. Hats and suncream are a must and are managed so well by the nursery.

My daughter attends Busy Bees Halbeath nursery and we have had an excellent experience, especially the way staff is nurturing and enriching our little ones. Their care is amazing and she gets to explore a lot of activities with so much learning and fun.
Being a vegetarian my daughter is enjoying their
recent menu. Children also get to choose between two options and I think that's great.
Thank you so much Busy Bees for everything.

Staff are great although , equipment could do with updating in some places. More toys for bombos unit. More activities needed.
App needs updating in a more timely manner.
Management are great and very supportive. Children are really well cared for and my child appears to be very happy here!
Meals
are really good and also smells amazing. Well fed and watered.

Busy Bees Halbeath is amazing! Both of my kids attend and have come on leaps and bounds. Everyone comments on how sociable my eldest (3 years old) is and I definitely put that down to this nursery! He's transitioned through all the rooms seamlessly with great settling sessions and he's settled in so
so well. His key workers through all the rooms have taken the time to really get to know him..like the fact he needs time to chills for a while when he's woken from a nap and that he loves dinosaurs and play dough so his current keyworker is always greeting us at the door with dinosaurs or taking him over to the play dough station. We are kept well up-to-date with everything going on too.
My youngest has settled in like a dream and also absolutely loves nursery (16months old) the girls in the baby room are so attentive.
I love the way we catch ups with management when we drop off and pick up- they care and properly get to know the family which makes a massive difference.

Both of our sons attend the nursery, and they loved it from day one. It is the first nursery that they both enjoy and we are fully satisfied with. The care is exceptional and our boys are loved and their development is always key in their care. The staff are amazing, always there for them and are working
hard to provide new activities daily and to engage them in activities. The garden is well looked after and provides hours of fun for the little ones. The food is varied and plenty, my boys love the food in the nursery. I would always gladly advise choosing Halbeath Busy Bees. the manager is always keen to help and is spot on if you need help or advice.

I am extremely happy with the nursery. Both my sons are attending here and they are very well looked after. We get updates about their activities, meals etc and when we pick the boys up the staff always know what were they up to during their day! The rooms are spacious and welcoming and there are so
many different toys and learning experiences. My older son had some tough times settling into a different nursery previously and he absolutely loves going here! He has also formed close bonds with some of the staff and his peers. During spring and summer if weather allows, the doors to the garden are kept open (with staff staying outside and inside as well) and the children are free to roam. Our sons love staying outdoors, so this is very important. There is plenty of garden space and activities, toys etc. The management is exceptional too, nothing is too much trouble. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and professionalism.

My daughter has been attending since she was 5 months old. The staff have all been so friendly and approachable. My daughter settled really quickly and it was reassuring to know she was being well looked after. We had informative updates daily on our daughters day and we could see by pictures, observations
and communicating with the staff what our daughter had been doing whilst at nursery. The nursery has recently been renovated and it looks amazing! The rooms are inviting and the setting is home from home like. The garden spaces are incredible and they have so much variety of toys and different learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. Our daughter is now in her last year of Pre-School and the staff from all rooms have been like a second family to us. Our daughter always comes home speaking lots about nursery and all the different experiences she has taken part in. We can't thank the staff enough for all their support, hard work and professionalism throughout.

This is a fantastic nursery, my son has been attending since last year and his confidence has grown. He has made a few friends and has a good relationship with the teachers. They learn something new every day and I love that they play outside in the fresh air most of the time. We are all very grateful
to the staff for looking after our wee one so well.

My children have attended the nursery since 2015. During that time I have always been so impressed with the staff, their professionalism, empathy, knowledge and general support. Both my children have benefitted from their time at the nursery. Their development is so well rounded which has made them
extremely prepared for school. The only thing I have questioned in the past is the cleaning standard, especially the rugs which can collect so much, these are not cleaned enough.

The nursery has provided an environment for my children to flourish and express themselves especially my daughter as she has become very good at drawing. We received a large pile of my daughter's artwork to take home which I was very impressed with as she has advanced with her drawing and creative skills
which I believe has been down to the staff at the nursery facilitating this and encouraging her to express herself.

Highly recommend this nursery. They have been great, my little girl has been going since she was five months old and she loves it. When we came out of lockdown my little one got really bad separation anxiety, they were great with her and helped her to calm down when I left her, now she is happy going.

Highly recommend this nursery. We moved from London and wanted to ensure our son had a smooth transition to his new nursery. The manager and her team have been excellent, taking time to allow our son to settle into his new environment. He loves Busy Bees Halbeath, always comes home very happy with lots
of stories of what he has been up to - I would highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.682)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.682) out of 10 for Busy Bees Halbeath is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.655 for Busy Bees Halbeath is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.655
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.027 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Halbeath is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.327
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
