The new busy bee's app is easy to use and provides updates throughout the day including food, how much was eaten, sleep duration and even when they have signed in and out of the nursery. Pictures are regularly updated to see what they are up to throughout the day, and the comment and message the room feature has been excellent.
Staff are genuinely invested in the children and making sure they have access to lots of opportunities to develop their play, socialisation and learning skills. Staff are approachable and give good handovers at end of day. Would 100% recommend this nursery!
My daughter and twins have both attended busy bees so we have been using the nursery for the last 4 years. We have always had a wonderful experience and my children have loved going there. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the children always have lots of fun activities to keep them busy. The management team are wonderful and have been so accommodating with my twins, being as flexible as they could to meet our needs as a family. Would highly recommend to other parents.
Absolutely fantastic nursery! Both my children have attended and both have had amazing relationships with staff. Excellent care and education provided as well as a great outdoor space for children the thrive!
My child has been at Busy Bees in Cardiff for over a year and she loves it! The staff are all caring and communicative always giving lots of details about my child's day. The nursery is always clean and tidy and we love the variety of food my child's is offered!
Their food sounds great, they have curry, cowboy pies, roasts, fruit and veg. Nicer food than we would have in an adult hospital canteen!
The place is run by a manager who is so friendly and warm. The staff there are incredible, they all genuinely seem happy to be working there and this shows in the kids faces daily. It is safe, there is a strict policy of not letting anyone in when you have opened the door to exit etc. There is ample parking for drop off and pick up. I would highly recommend this nursery. I never did have any concerns that my child was unsafe, unhappy or bored.
Lovely big nursery, spacious and good outdoor space. Key workers upload 'snapshots' to the app so you can see what they've been working towards. Lovely staff.
The nursery has an app for parents to use which is great to see updates about nappy changes, sleep, food etc. However, some updates were never uploaded or uploaded late.
The only negative I have to write about is the food options. Some options are a bit out there and my little one doesn't tend to want to eat them. I've also found some days the lunch meal and afternoon food are similar. Eg. Chilli Con Carne with rice for lunch and then savoury rice(?) for the afternoon food. I think the nursery could also give milk as a drink option to the children as when I asked, they said they don't give it unless requested by the parent.
I never worried about my boy being there, I knew he was happy and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery for their children.

They've taught him loads but they also get outside and mucky almost every day.
Would highly recommend sending your kids here and our second little boy will be enrolling next year as well.
My son has attended Busy Bees for two years. The team have been wonderful at helping him to grow and learn. The staff are very caring, nurturing and approachable. They all know my son's name and take the time to interact with him, even if they don't work directly with him. They do lots of creative activities with him and have a range of indoor and outdoor activities. We love seeing photos and updates on the app and communication with the management team is effective.
Busy Bees at Cardiff Gate is a fantastic nursery and our daughter loves it. She took a couple of weeks to settle in and the team were so wonderful and patient. She sleeps well there and eats better than me and her dad do! I always love hearing about the fun activities she gets up to every day, including playing outside. The team always greet us with a smile and I feel fully confident that they have her best interests at heart. We love you Busy Bees!
Our son is always happy to go to nursery and is very fond of all the staff and the other children. I would definitely recommend Busy Bees Cardiff Gate to anyone who is looking for an excellent childcare provider.
When my little one first started the staff were fab at alleviating any anxieties I had and helped us both to settle in. As she’s progressing through the rooms we still see and talk to previous key workers as they genuinely care about how my child is developing. We are kept updated via the app and text messages which is useful. Our daughter loves the food and has tried many things at nursery that she wouldn’t at home, which has helped her have a more varied diet.

Our child is thriving having started nursery for the past year. She has learnt lots of new words including some sign language. She does activities like painting, arts and crafts that we wouldn't normally do at home. She seems very happy going to and coming from nursery and as parents we have never had any issues or problems. Honestly, I cannot recommend Busy Bees Cardiff Gate enough.
Our daughter has been going to Busy Bees for the last 2 and a half years, and today is really her last day. I can honestly say this feels quite emotional for her and ourselves too, because of how wonderful everyone at Busy Bees has been since 2021. She has loved going in every day at full-time nursery, and it'd been clear to see just how much all the staff care for her/the other children. Our son will be starting in September, and we feel so lucky that we already have a place secured for him. Thanks again for all you do.
Also great help during nappy training. Despite this being a lot of work, the staff are very keen on getting kids out of nappies.

Our son has attended the nursery since he was 1 year old and he loves it. The staff are always amazing, they provide children with stimulating activities throughout the day. Our son has access to a garden and loves playing outside, he also enjoys the messy play activities. We believe the nursery has helped with his language development and also his confidence in playing with other children.
She started with them when she was 18 months she was not speaking at all, they understand my feelings and are being listened to all the time, they work together with me. Until now my baby is doing fabulous, she talks in sentences and she love to go to the nursery every day and loves all the staff. All staff are amazing and friendly. The manager is a very supportive lady and welcoming all the time she listens to all parent's concerns and works towards that, in addition their fees it’s lovely as they do massive discounts for full-time attendance. I’m so happy to choose Busy Bees. I couldn’t recommend them enough, as they deserve the top, I don’t have any issues with them ever.
The staff have been wonderful in bringing up the kids. My son feels happy to go to nursery every day. He has now become more independent with the training of the staff. I feel it’s a safe place for my son.
They have a great routine for babies and toddlers, every day he does different activities and events.
My child loves going to this nursery, it makes a difficult thing to be away from your child much more bearable knowing he is well looked after.

She goes 2 full days a week and has the best days there! We get updates on meals, nappies, sleep, through the day plus pictures at least once a week.
She has learned so much there. I also love the fact they do lots of 'messy play' and art which I do not enjoy doing at home so I'm glad she gets to do it somewhere.
The staff is amazing, so kind, and always willing to do what we need for her i.e. trying different ways of getting her to sleep for a nap, letting her learn to spoon feed herself, using different wet wipes (we brought them in).
Love the staff and the venue. Slightly pricier than others in Cardiff but we feel it's worth it, and the hours work for us with work also.
Would highly recommend it.

Meet the Team (1)
Hello, I am Michelle Parker, the Centre Director of Busy Bees Cardiff Gate. I have had the privilege of working with children for almost 20 years and during this time have held many posts which include running my own child-minding service. I am the mum of three grown up children and have a 6-year-old granddaughter, who I spend as much time with as possible.
I currently hold a Level 5 qualification in childcare and management, Level 3 play work and a speech language qualification.
I am passionate about the learning environment and child led play, it is the team's desire to provide a home from home for all our children at the nursery and to have close working relationships with our parents to make sure the children in our care get the best start in life at Busy Bees.
