Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

My son has attended the nursery for just over a year and it the best decision I have made for my son's development. After removing him from another nursery as he wasn’t developing, since being here he has started speaking more fluently and enjoys going.
He mentions all the teachers and his classmate's
names all the time, giving peace of mind he is safe while I’m at work but also liking the time learning and playing.
Definitely a 10 out of 10.

After an unsettling experience at a different nursery, I was anxious about moving my daughter to another nursery. The staff at Ingleby Barwick Childrens Day Nursery were absolutely fantastic in welcoming my daughter, ensuring she settled in extremely quickly. Having been used to collecting my daughter
from nursery in tears, it was incredible to see her running around laughing and playing with other children at IBCDN. I couldn't speak more highly of this nursery and the dedicated staff there. A wonderful place for children to learn, play and grow.

As a first time mam I was extremely nervous and anxious putting my baby into nursery at 6 months old but having looked at over 10 nurseries around and not been happy with any of them I was aware of minus five as my nephew had been with them and although a drive away from home I went to view them. From
day one the staff made me feel at ease and took to my son straight away they were aware of my anxiousness and on how clingy my son was but with a few start up sessions both me and my son were settled and happy. My son is now one and loves going to nursery he loves the staff and is developing so amazingly. Thanks, guys you're doing a great job.

Currently, I am happy with the service provided at the nursery. My daughter is very settled and staff are friendly and approachable. The nursery has developed and improved significantly over the past year, unfortunately, my daughter will soon be at full-time school so will only benefit from these improvements
for a limited period of time. Facilities are good and recently activities to engage with parents more, through organised trips etc. have been positive. My daughter has good relationships with the staff and activities and changes brought in by the current manager have been welcomed. Hopefully, the good work to improve the nursery will continue.

My daughter loves spending time after school with staff and other children. She's been attending the nursery for about 18 months and in that time she has always loved attending the setting; plus, she loves telling us all about what she does there. A superb, safe and trustworthy nursery.

All staff are amazing with my son every time he attends nursery. They constantly encourage development and update me every evening as to what activities he's done that day as well as what he's eaten. Due to working full time I need a nursery where I can trust they will be attentive and help my son learn

Staff are extremely friendly and really enthusiastic and encouraging towards the children. They have plenty of activities to keep them occupied and learn new skills. They also encourage the children to put things away after themselves to maintain a clean and safe environment for the children play in.
I would strongly recommend this nursery.

My son recently started at Ingleby Day Nursery and has settled fantastically. The staff are fabulous with him as well as putting my mind at rest making sure he's ok. I love the variation of his days and the great play and learning facilities. Very happy I chose here as his first nursery and could not

Both my children have been looked after at Ingleby Barwick Day Nursery and I am extremely satisfied with the service. My daughter loves this nursery from day one she was fine settled nicely and had no problems settling in. Good choice of activities and different play areas, excellent nursery all round and the staff are lovely.

We have used other nurseries in the area and been disappointed. Ingleby Barwick Day Nursery has turned our shy little girl into an outgoing, confident little princess. We couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough!

The moment I walked into the nursery with my daughter I was made to feel welcome by the manager and staff. The nursery has a lovely layout, with well-resourced rooms offering a wide range of activities and play experiences. My daughter enjoys her time at nursery and has grown into a very confident little
girl. This is down to the caring staff taking the time and care to help her settle and enjoy her time with them.
The nursery provides healthy freshly cooked meals and have actively encouraged my daughter to try new foods. I would definitely recommend Ingleby Barwick Day nursery to anybody looking for childcare and I wholeheartedly agree with the recent Ofsted outstanding rating. I would just like to say a very big thank you to the staff for all your help and support since my daughter started at the nursery.

My son has been going for over a year and he loves the place and the staff. All very friendly and extremely helpful. Been more than accommodating on a few emergency occasions when we've needed him looking after at short notice.

This nursery is excellent. My son attends here and is delayed in speech and understanding and was very fussy with his eating and since starting at Ingleby Day Nursery, his progress is incredible!!! He is now eating meals he would never attempt before, he is coming along with his speech and is interacting
with the other children. They identify areas he was struggling in which confirmed my concerns and put everything in place for me to get the support for him he needed!
I would recommend this nursery in a heartbeat the staff are by far the best bunch I have come across and my son feels so comfortable approaching them for help. Thank you for everything you have done for us!!!

Such a fantastic nursery, we are having to move our son to another nursery kicking and screaming, purely down to the fact it is not close enough to his school for a wrap-around service. He loves everyone at the nursery and always tells us about his friends and the teachers. Since joining the nursery
2 years ago he has come along massively including his talking, sharing, jigsaws, singing.


We have already recommended one other child to the nursery and will do our best to recommend more, also our next child will be joining the nursery as soon as the time comes.

I have been very happy with the progress my 3 year old daughter has made at Ingleby Day Nursery. She was reluctant to go to nursery. She was shy and clingy. The staff have been fantastic at working with her, she now loves to go to nursery and is a different child and has more confidence with adults
and children. She has learnt a lot in the 4 months she has been there. I am very impressed with the nursery and the staff. I would recommend it to anyone.

A friendly and warming atmosphere, all the staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. My son instantly felt at home and settled really well, he loves going to nursery now. Just want to thank all staff for making the whole experience a happy one.

I have a level 3 NVQ in childcare and have worked in childcare for 18 years with Nunthorpe nurseries group and I now manage Ingleby Barwick day nursery.
I take pride in managing my nursery, I have very good organisational skills and use them when managing the nursery, staff, and children.
I love to meet new families, welcoming them into our setting and ensuring they feel comfortable.
My team works very hard to ensure all rooms provide fun, stimulating, and safe environments.
