I cannot recommend this nursery enough! Both of my girls have attended, our youngest from 10 months old to nearly 5.
Every room is outstanding with enthusiastic staff who put both big people and little people at ease immediately (well, our little person settled 0.2 seconds after Daddy left the room for the first month or so but we'll gloss over that). The opening hours (0645-1800) are the best I know of for parents who work shifts and they will accommodate shift changes whenever possible. I can recall only 1 or 2 occasions where they couldn't make it work, even when asked last minute!
My eldest daughter's school teacher spoke incredibly highly of the handover report she received from Playdays Nursery. Commenting on how much the education she received at Playdays was evident during her first school year (when compared to other lesser nurseries).
In short, cancel any visits you have to look round other nurseries. You'll be wasting your time!! :-)
My daughter loved the outside environment and the messy play the staff would arrange. I appreciated all the mementoes that she would bring home and how she was familiar with the staff, she would put her arms out to go to them in the morning. They were happy for me to ring and drop in whenever I wished to (often in the early months).
My daughter has a severe milk allergy and the catering team were able to fully accommodate this, there was never any incidents of cross-contamination or accidents.
My son attended Playdays from 9 months old until starting in reception and loved every minute! The staff were so friendly and encouraging to him and managed his milk intolerance really well. The staff in each room made sure I was kept up to date with everything he did and supported his development really well. I was really pleased I kept him at Playdays instead of sending him to school nursery as they were able to provide a more caring environment than I think he would have received in his school nursery.
The staff are so welcoming and quickly got to know the children including likes, dislikes and personality traits. Thank you all so much for providing such a loving, fun and exciting place for the children to grow and develop!
Both of the children have truly flourished whilst at nursery… the new nursery has a lot to live up to (only moving due to change of job/location)!!
They absolutely loved going, the staff were all friendly and went out of their way to ensure that my boys had an enjoyable experience at every stage of development.
Excellent decision. The staff are friendly and caring. I had no problem in deciding that my 2nd child would also attend Playdays.
The food is great and lots of variety. My two have developed in many aspects with the help of the staff at Playdays such as speech and language, interaction, fun but learning activities. They are allowed to have lots of messy play. I love this nursery and chose to keep my child here rather than school nursery and will do so with my younger one.
Over the past 5 years both my children have attended Playdays Day Nursery. The staff have been fabulous and always helpful if I have any questions. I feel that Playdays Day Nursery gave my children the best start in life with things such as socialising and picking up various skills. Both my children enjoyed attending the nursery. Both my children are either in school now or starting school nursery in September but I will genuinely miss Playdays Day Nursery as it has been such a lovely part of our lives. I would recommend the nursery to everyone.
Our daughter has attended this nursery one and a half days a week since she was approximately 12 months old in March 2016 and is due to leave soon (August 2016) as she will be starting her school nursery.
We are all going to be very sad for her to leave the nursery as apart from a period of about 1 month of wobbles regarding leaving us, she has loved her time here. She always comes home looking worn out, but very happy.
My husband and are are very happy with the care and tuition she has received and would recommend the nursery to family and friends in a similar situation.
In my opinion the nursery have been everything I have required in a nursery setting which enabled me to go back to work, and work the early & long hours that a hospital based job requires, and not have to be concerned with her wellbeing.
The nursery appears to be clean, it has plenty of toys, learning stations, books, and most importantly free play for the children. The topics of learning are age appropriate.
Any health issues that have occurred the staff have contacted me straight away, they have dealt with any issues I've had respectfully and sympathetically.
My daughter has been very happy here and I know she is sad to be leaving, and that is down to the friendly staff. I would and do recommend Playdays nursery & would use it again should the need arise.
The only area that I feel could be better is the food. It was better before the current contractors took over.
Both my two girls attended this nursery and enjoyed it here. They did a variety of activities daily and played outside at every opportunity weather permitting. All the staff are polite, pleasant and more than happy to help. Any questions or concerns are dealt with immediately. The nursery and facilities are very clean. Overall I would say excellent staff, clean environment and I never once worried about leaving my girls here as I knew they were being cared for well.
Absolutely love this nursery, my daughter had a place 6 years ago and my son has a place now. Both of them took a little time getting used to it (more the fact being separated from me) but both really enjoyed/enjoy their time here. Staff are great, so friendly and both my kids have grown fond of some of the girls in there. I've got great peace of mind leaving my son there whilst I work. Always been told about accidents, I've never had any problems with the nappy changing situation! Always have his messages when I've picked them up and a good idea of what they've been up to during the day. Learning is great I can't believe how much both of my kids have come on since attending, my little boy now comes home singing songs he's learnt etc and counting. (He turns 2 in sept) it's all good interaction with other kids too. My little girl went into school nursery no problem,I think Playdays had a big part to play in that getting her ready for growing up and moving on. Would recommend to anyone!
Playdays has provided childcare and education for both of my children who have attended since they were 10 months old. Friendly confident reassuring staff have made it easy for myself and my wife to leave our children whilst we work. The nursery offers a flexible service that covers a vast amount of my working day, at a rate I feel is value for money. Both my children have enjoyed this experience and made invaluable memories we can cherish forever. Upon leaving a keepsake learning journey is given which gave us an insight into their learning through play approach!
My daughter started at Playdays when she was 7 months old. She's now 4 and getting ready to move to school. I can't thank the Playdays staff enough for the care, attention and support that they've provided for us both. My daughter thoroughly enjoys being at Playdays and being there has helped to bring her on in leaps and bounds. At the end of a nursery day my daughter is very keen to tell me what she has been learning about. I've been kept updated on her progress regularly with parents evenings and by bringing her progress folder home and can see that they have provided her with more than the necessary developmental skills to help her on her way to school life and that they have helped her to achieve her EYFS targets. The staff at Playdays are all lovely and I think it's safe to say that my little girl and I will miss them all when she leaves. Thank you Playdays Team, we think you're all amazing :-)
I have had both of my children under the care of the named nursery over the last 5 years. The nursery has helped my children to develop confidently on there own and with other children and staff members. They have treated my children as individuals accommodating to there dietary and hygiene needs, whilst communicating with my husband and myself if there were any concerns that were making our children unhappy. I find the staff approachable and wanting the same outcome for our children, happy children who are continuing to develop. Both my children are doing really well.
The staff and managers have been fantastic from day one and I am really grateful for everything they have done to encourage my child to develop. I also really appreciate the additional time spent with physiotherapists allowing professionals to work with my child in the nursery environment and for all the staff who helped him develop so far. From his diary I can see that he participates in a variety of daily activities and really enjoys his meal times and the variety of food that is offered to him. Keep up the great work. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.
When I ask my little girl if she is happy, or what she has done in the day, she is always smiling and positive.
There is nothing I could advise them to improve on. Keep up the good work.
Both me and my husband are very happy with the nursery and our daughter loves it. The staff are extremely helpful and caring and know each child individually. I would definitely recommend the nursery. She is happy and safe what more can a parent want.
Both our children attend this nursery and have done so since the age of 9 months. When we needed to find a nursery for our eldest we were very nervous and wondered how she would cope being in a different environment to what she was used to with different adults and children, however after looking round and meeting the staff we were confident that this was the best nursery for her. I can say honestly it was our best decision and we are amazed at how much she and her younger sister learn on a daily basis, the subjects that they are taught change on a regular basis and they are always encouraged to behave with kindness and have good manners. If we ever needed any questions answering, staff members have been prompt in their response, and all staff members on approach are extremely professional and friendly. We will be sad to see our eldest leave the nursery soon, for her and us it has been a wonderful and exciting journey and she/we will miss all her friends and staff.
My son has been coming to this nursery since he was ten months and he has just turned three. He loves coming here. He has come on loads there is plenty to do and learning lots of new things every day. The staff are really nice and very helpful if I have a concern I ask the staff and they see to it I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks so much for looking after my son while I'm at work, which I know he's in safe hands.
My baby boy has attended for 1 1/2 days a week from 8-4.30. There has not been one instance where I have picked him up upset. Every time I have dropped him off it has been with a cuddle from a member of staff, when I come to pick him up he is often being held or player with. Toy variety is excellent, staff sit /sing with the children and lots of books and musical instruments to play with and learn from. My child has come on in leaps & bounds since attending, both developmentally & socially. He is a TERRIBLE sleeper & they accommodated all my wishes in regards to putting him to bed etc. I have a breakdown of activities, nappy changes, amount of food and milk drank etc. The times I have asked for more nappy changes due to teething etc this has been done. I can visit or ring at any time. My boy always smiles on arrival and is happy and content when I pick him up. All in all a very good nursery with lovely staff. Only downside is they need more outside space but that is down to location.
