The Cedars Nursery - Sunderland

Highly recommended! We cannot thank the wonderful team at this nursery enough. Our son used to go here, and now our daughter attends as well. Even though she only started in April, she already loves it so much and is always so happy to go. The environment is amazing, and the staff look after the children with so much love, care, and dedication. It has given both of our children a fantastic foundation for their learning and development. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do!

As our little one gets ready to leave Cedars Nursery, we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for everything you've done.

From the very beginning, you've created such a warm, caring and welcoming environment where our daughter has felt safe, happy and excited to learn. Watching her grow in confidence, make friends and develop so many new skills has been amazing, and that's a real reflection of the dedication and kindness of the whole team. Specially Alex & Phoebe.

Every member of staff has always been approachable, supportive and genuinely cared about the children. It's been so reassuring as parents knowing she was in such good hands every day.

Thank you for helping to give our daughter such a wonderful start to her education. She'll leave with so many happy memories and be more than ready for her next adventure at school.

Our daughter has attended since January 2026. The difference in her is astounding, they have helped her develop in so many ways. She loves it. The variety of food she gets makes me jealous. I love her telling me about her day on the drive home. Can't thank the staff enough.

My 15 month old started at Cedars Nursery Sunderland in January 2026 and he's gone from strength to strength with the team; whether that's with his social skills, walking and talking and eating and trying new things he absolutely loves being with his peers and with the amazing teachers there! Were kept well up to date on his day to day activities through the app and feel totally at ease with him being there.

Tommy has been there since he was 9 month and is now 3. He has loved his time, the staff are amazing with him and would highly recommend this nursery to anyone with little ones. They always have fun activities planned and he always comes home with a smile on his face.

My little boy has been attending Cedars for almost 4 months and I couldnt rave about the nursery anymore, he was bit shy and unsettled at first but he soon settled in and absolutely LOVES it there, he is thriving and loves being outside, inreally love how much outside time he had and activities. He is absolutely obsessed with one of the girls Danielle and she makes his days so so lovely. They are very caring and want to know your child individually, my little boy is a real struggle to feed and the girls have been so patient with him and gone at his speed. He is getting there. All the girls are lovely and im so so happy we chose this nursery. Its a very personal one and i feel like they actually care about him and want the best for him. We pick him up now and sometimes he cuddles his fave Danielle and doesnt want to come home with us. That speaks wonders :)

My little girl has been attending since she was 9 month old in October. The team are amazing with her and they all make sure that every child knows who they are which reassures me safeguarding is a priority and not just room specific. My little girl wakes up on a morning and gets excited when I tell her she's going to see her friends at nursery. At 17 month old she is such a social little butterfly with a loving but sassy nature and everyone loves her. She has come on amazing development wise and knows the actions to so many songs that she proudly shows us at home. This nursery is the best little hidden gem I have ever found and I'd highly recommend to anyone thinking of using this nursery. All staff including the owner are so lovely and you can see they have genuine care, compassion and love for the children and their jobs. I go to work when she she is nursery knowing she is living her best life here especially with the amount of outdoor time the children have daily in the garden

My child has been attending for almost 6 months now. The staff are very loving and have really nutured my child, helping him build in confidence. He settled very quickly and although a bit subdued at first, soon found his feet and the rhythm of the place. The kids get a lot more outdoor time than I initially anticipated which has been great for my son as is very active. I love how the staff interact as a family and make themselves known to each child, which has filled me with reassurance that when he moves up a room, he will already know the staff member well. All staff have been very accommodating and its clear they have passion for what they do. Admin wise, things run smoothly and the team use the app consistently throughout the day and give regular observations. So glad we chose this nursery for our son and would highly recommmend to others!

The Cedars was an amazing start to early eduction for my son. He absolutely loved it. The staff are amazing and caring. My son cried a lot and every time they got him. He always got a cuddle until he was settled. He never complained. My son always told me about how much fun he had with his friends and the staff. He also got a lot of support in areas he struggled with. I will miss this place and highly recommend it to all parents who want to start sending their children to nursery.

Couldn't recommend this nursery enough! My eldest little girl has been going since she was two and she absolutely loves it and adores all the staff. The staff are so kind, caring and friendly and are always making sure to do fun activities with the kids. The food they get is always lovely home-cooked meals and although my little girl can be picky at home she loves most of the meals served there. The nursery has a real homely feel to it and I feel safe and happy leaving my little girl. She has settled in amazingly and she always talks about the staff and her friends. My youngest is starting in a few weeks time. Lovely nursery and so happy we chose it.

Reading is definitely a main focus and the outdoor provision which is excellent.

I couldn't recommend them enough. They were kind, professional, and outstanding throughout since my child joined the nursery 2.5 years ago. I've seen him growing with them and he was always treated respectfully and developed really well.

Great staff who create great relationships with all the children. They care and take pride in the children they look after and my son really loves going. He loves the outdoor space and activities. I am happy to see my child walk into nursery with no reservations or fears, he is excited to go.

Both have grown and flourished in so many different ways as a result of being at The Cedars and I have never ever had any issues or cause for concern about my children's wellbeing or safety. They're looked after as if they were their own and I love seeing how much they both love everyone there. The manager is also really flexible and accommodating and will do what she can to make things work for you if she's able to. Couldn't recommend this nursery enough, it's just the best!

My daughter has attended Cedars Nursery for over a year now and she absolutely loves going here. I truly can't recommend the nursery enough. The facilities cater for the children amazingly, the indoor and outdoor spaces are well-maintained. The toys and equipment are in excellent condition and if she has liked a particular toy or book it can come with her which has made her day. She particularly enjoys water and messy play, trips to the park amongst many craft activities. She has learned counting, Makaton, nursery rhymes, weather, cultures and other things. It has helped her develop massively and we are noticing her speech coming on leaps and bounds which we as parents have noticed and the staff have also commented on. All the staff are amazing including management who are hands-on. They have a genuine interest and care for my daughter which is amazing and is not the case in all nurseries. The menu is varied and if she has wanted extra portions she has always been allowed as much as she can.

I can't speak highly enough of the manager and staff at Cedars Nursery, since the opening day to now, they have done nothing but impress me with how professional, kind and welcoming they have been to myself and my little boy who was 11 months old at the time. Leaving your baby to return back to work is a nervous and anxious time however the staff made this transition extremely easy. I couldn't be happier I chose Cedars Nursery, nothing I ask is ever too much for the manager and the team. I would absolutely recommend this fantastic nursery to others. Thanks again!

We are approaching our final weeks at the nursery as my little one is going to school in September. Choosing a nursery can be daunting. Cedars has been the best choice. They have fostered a wonderful homely environment with lots of outdoor play and experiences. All staff are well trained and loving. We couldn't recommend the nursery higher!

A lovely nursery where children are encouraged to play, learn and express themselves. My son has developed in skill and confidence so much since joining and this is owing to the care he has received. Would recommend to anyone.

My son absolutely loved this nursery. The staff are absolutely amazing, and so kind and welcoming. Such a pleasure to have placed him in this nursery and see the difference they've made, in learning stuff and improving his talking and I couldn't be more grateful. Couldn't recommend this nursery anymore, amazing experience through and through!

Our child loves going to nursery here and is always very excited when we drop them off. They do all sorts of fun activities throughout the day and we get updates through their app. Would highly recommend this nursery!
