Kids Planet Longbenton offers flexible and part time places which include morning or/and afternoon sessions as well as full time places.

The purpose built nursery has specially designed rooms for different age groups, for example babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Each room has access to a large stimulating outdoor area which is accessed frequently throughout the nursery day and in all weather conditions using the appropriate clothing and protection.

Each nursery has a fully qualified team of early year’s practitioners and an early year’s professional, with some practitioners being qualified up to degree level.

They endeavour to settle every child with ease into nursery life, offering free introductory visits before the child formally starts the nursery.

My daughter has been at Kids Planet since June 2024, and she settled in very quickly and she's been happy there since. All of the staff are so lovely and build personal connections with the children.

My daughter has been going to the nursery since she was 1 and is now 3. I can't fault the staff. They are very helpful and my daughter loves them. Her communication skills are second to none and I believe this is from spending time at the nursery.

Our twins have recently started at Kids Planet Longbenton after we previously used the nursery for their older brother. I'm so happy with how things have gone and impressed by all the staff and how easy they have made the introduction to the nursery for us all. The staff are always happy to see us and
I never feel rushed at handover time when giving or receiving information.
I feel that all the staff know our babies well despite being with them for a short time and I can already see that the babies are developing new skills from attending. I especially love how much time they spend outdoors in their fantastic space as we are such an outdoor family. I would 100% recommend Kids Planet and do on a regular basis to other parents. Thank you for making my return to work with three children easier than it might have been.

My daughter started at Kids Planet about 3 weeks ago. I've been so impressed with the level of care of the staff. I would say the care and kindness of the staff are what has impressed me the most. My daughter has settled so well and that's because of the staff. The handover at the end of the day is
really helpful and I love seeing all the lovely foods my daughter has eaten too. Naps were a bit of an issue for my daughter but just after 3 weeks at nursery, this has improved at nursery and at home. The one thing I'd like to see slightly more of is the Golden Moments on the app but if I ever message on the app there is always a swift reassuring reply.

The nursery is fantastic. They have supported our child as her special educational needs have emerged. All the staff care so very much about our child and are really engaged in her progress and development. The staff are a real credit to the nursery and if it wasn't for them, our experience would be
very different. One thing is that the new owners could communicate better the changes with parents. Also they had promised a coffee morning with parents which has not happened.

Our little girl absolutely loves coming to nursery. The staff are just lovely and it feels that they really care about our little girl and know a lot about her. She comes home from nursery talking about what she has done with the staff and her friends. We have had a few incidents where our little girl
has been bitten by children in her class, however, the staff have tried to deal with these incidents promptly and helped us feel reassured as parents that she is safe.

The staff at the nursery are fantastic and our son loves being there. He's been in the baby and tot's rooms and loved both. He gets so many activities and we've noticed huge developments in him since starting nursery. Thank you to the amazing team!

Both of my sons have attended the nursery since they were a year old. We're very lucky that its on your doorstep but we 100% have chosen it anyway. The staff are all lovely, patient and kind with the children (and parents!). You can tell they all love their work. Both boys have thrived in the nursery
and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other parents.

My child loves going to nursery, been great for his language and social development. It is very lucky to attend a nursery where he get's a healthy choice of meals, variety of different daily activities and have staff who are attentive and caring. Plus really enjoy each month getting golden moments.

Our daughter started attending this setting after she had just turned one. We are delighted with how she's developed from a babbling baby to a fully conversational, confident toddler. The staff are fantastic, the care is exceptional, the activities are engaging and the daily menu is varied and nutritious.
Communication is second to none and the staff have always supported us with any concerns we have as a family. We are so confident in this setting we have also chosen to send our 11-month-old son and although he's only been attending since the beginning of January he is also thriving and we can sense he feels both happy and safe in the environment. If there was one area for improvement it would be being more transparent in setting out how invoices are charged. As an individual who is confident in understanding figures, I find these more complicated than needed. Given this is our second largest expense after our mortgage, I want to be confident what we are paying each month is correct.

We have used the nursery for almost three years. Our little one has always loved going into nursery and always enjoys his time. We do recommend the nursery and our littlest will be joining in the summer.

My daughter has been coming to the nursery since she was 8 months old and is now 3. The staff in the nursery are fantastic and I can't really fault them however since the nursery was taken over by kids planet they have implemented certain things that just do not sit right with me and I find it to be
a huge safeguarding concern and feel it should be removed and done how it was previously. They have taken the excitement out of the look of the nursery e.g. no more paintings in the windows. Staff are great but has lost its uniqueness, you can tell it's just a chain wanting to make money.

Kate Swingell

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2008

My name is Kate and I am the Manager at Kids Planet Longbenton. I have worked in childcare for over 20 years achieving my foundation degree in Early Childhood studies. My childcare journey started as an apprentice at age 16 and over the years I have gained lots of experience, working my way up and eventually, I was promoted to manager in October 2023.


I love being involved with all aspects of nursery life seeing how happy and content the children are and how seeing them grow and learn in our caring and nurturing environment.
