Kids Planet Longbenton offers flexible and part time places which include morning or/and afternoon sessions as well as full time places.

The purpose built nursery has specially designed rooms for different age groups, for example babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Each room has access to a large stimulating outdoor area which is accessed frequently throughout the nursery day and in all weather conditions using the appropriate clothing and protection.

Each nursery has a fully qualified team of early year’s practitioners and an early year’s professional, with some practitioners being qualified up to degree level.

They endeavour to settle every child with ease into nursery life, offering free introductory visits before the child formally starts the nursery.

My son has been coming here since he was 11 months old and we both absolutely love it. His language and skills are beyond what we'd expect for his age and we attribute much of this to his time at nursery. He's made some lovely friends and the range of activities is great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
this nursery, the staff treat him like family, and we know he enjoys being here which gives me peace of mind.

Been with nursery for 5 years, overall nothing but positive experience. Staff have gone out of their way to help out with additional needs for both of our children. Fully recommend this nursery.

Our little boy was welcomed immediately and has settled in so quickly. All of the staff have been amazing with their care, love and communication. He absolutely adores his key worker; is developing quickly and I wouldn't have him looked after anywhere else. He always reaches out to the girls with his
arms. You are all amazing.

My son loves the nursery and we've been happy with the staff and care so far.
I just wish we could see more pictures with him enjoying the days at nursery.
Whilst the care is great and he has fun, signing him up into nursery, deciding starting dates and days for him were a challenge.

Our daughter has settled in very well in the nursery. All of the staff are really welcoming and made great environment for my child. She is really bonded with me and I was really worried that she won't like nursery but she just needed a couple of sessions and she started to be comfortable with the nursery
and staff. It's good to see her happy staying here when we are going to work.

My eldest is now in pre-school from joining at 9 months. She loves nursery and always has until most of the older children left to go to school in Sept 2024. She is a Nov baby so is one of the older children there, now. Feedback has been given RE: pre-school room - as she has been in there for over
a year and is getting board of the games/ routine. She now attends Yoga (at an additional cost) and has trips to the local library, as well as additional home phonics kits which extends from what they learn at nursery. I'm very happy that my feedback was listened to and steps put in place.
I do think there could be more done for the older children
The cost of food for each child is extortionate. I have two children at this nursery and pay almost £40 per day to feed a 4 year old & a 1 year.
The ladies who look after the children are lovely and care about the children.
Nursery Communication has declined and fewer emails are sent. Notice boards are being used instead.

Our twins have recently started at Kids Planet Longbenton after we previously used the nursery for their older brother. I'm so happy with how things have gone and impressed by all the staff and how easy they have made the introduction to the nursery for us all. The staff are always happy to see us and
I never feel rushed at handover time when giving or receiving information.
I feel that all the staff know our babies well despite being with them for a short time and I can already see that the babies are developing new skills from attending. I especially love how much time they spend outdoors in their fantastic space as we are such an outdoor family. I would 100% recommend Kids Planet and do on a regular basis to other parents. Thank you for making my return to work with three children easier than it might have been.

My daughter started at Kids Planet about 3 weeks ago. I've been so impressed with the level of care of the staff. I would say the care and kindness of the staff are what has impressed me the most. My daughter has settled so well and that's because of the staff. The handover at the end of the day is
really helpful and I love seeing all the lovely foods my daughter has eaten too. Naps were a bit of an issue for my daughter but just after 3 weeks at nursery, this has improved at nursery and at home. The one thing I'd like to see slightly more of is the Golden Moments on the app but if I ever message on the app there is always a swift reassuring reply.

The nursery is fantastic. They have supported our child as her special educational needs have emerged. All the staff care so very much about our child and are really engaged in her progress and development. The staff are a real credit to the nursery and if it wasn't for them, our experience would be
very different. One thing is that the new owners could communicate better the changes with parents. Also they had promised a coffee morning with parents which has not happened.

Our little girl absolutely loves coming to nursery. The staff are just lovely and it feels that they really care about our little girl and know a lot about her. She comes home from nursery talking about what she has done with the staff and her friends. We have had a few incidents where our little girl
has been bitten by children in her class, however, the staff have tried to deal with these incidents promptly and helped us feel reassured as parents that she is safe.

The staff at the nursery are fantastic and our son loves being there. He's been in the baby and tot's rooms and loved both. He gets so many activities and we've noticed huge developments in him since starting nursery. Thank you to the amazing team!

Both of my sons have attended the nursery since they were a year old. We're very lucky that its on your doorstep but we 100% have chosen it anyway. The staff are all lovely, patient and kind with the children (and parents!). You can tell they all love their work. Both boys have thrived in the nursery
and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other parents.

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2008

My name is Kate and I am the Manager at Kids Planet Longbenton. I have worked in childcare for over 20 years achieving my foundation degree in Early Childhood studies. My childcare journey started as an apprentice at age 16 and over the years I have gained lots of experience, working my way up and eventually, I was promoted to manager in October 2023.


I love being involved with all aspects of nursery life seeing how happy and content the children are and how seeing them grow and learn in our caring and nurturing environment.
