The Jesmond Nursery

The moment I entered the Jesmond Nursery three and half years ago, I found a lovely, warm, and welcoming environment. The staff are absolutely dedicated to providing an exceptional standard of care for the children and to the partnership they have with parents. They use a brilliant app to capture children's activities and learning milestones and for younger children, this is updated throughout each day, providing reassurance to us parents about e.g. sleep, toileting, food. This doesn't mean you can't also ring as the staff are always happy and helpful. The nursery is very clean and well stocked with resources for learning and/or play and the home-cooked food is of very high quality. The children complete a wide range of activities and this is recorded and reported regularly, including fantastic parents evenings. The nursery has adapted impressively to new Covid challenges. The most important thing for me is that the children are happy and speak with such joy of their time at nursery.

Both of our boys have attended The Jesmond Nursery with our youngest finishing this month. The Jesmond Nursery has been part of our lives for 7 years and we could not recommend it highly enough. The staff are all caring and take the time to know the children and adapt to their individual needs and personalities. Our children felt very happy and safe at all times, which is especially important during COVID. The office staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly whenever we had any queries or requests. Our boys have always eaten very well and the variety and quality of food provided seemed brilliant - special mention to the chef who was amazing when our eldest needed extra individual support in respect of his diet- even taking time to speak to his dietitian to understand his needs. Jesmond Nursery felt like part of our family and our eldest always loved going back to pick his brother up. The staff all remembered him and took the time to talk to him. We will miss them all!

My daughter is coming up to her final weeks of this nursery and has been there from one years old. The staff are kind, caring and truly invested in all of the children as well as the parents! She has been safe and happy throughout her time here and loves every minute. They have set her up brilliantly for her next chapter and we couldn’t be more grateful.

My daughter loves Jesmond Nursery. She has been coming for about 14 months and has enjoyed all three rooms she has been in. The staff are attentive and I always feel like they put the children first. My daughter has a great relationship with her key worker. I really can’t fault the nursery in any way and would highly recommend.

During current circumstances, we have been reassured by the health and safety of the team and we are so pleased how quickly both children have settled back into nursery.

Fantastic nursery - highly recommend. My son attended from 10 months- leaving for school in 2018, and my daughter is currently there. Both have flourished in the nursery setting - the staff are brilliant with the children and really support their development. They are well organised, consistent and have a professional set up and my children have thoroughly enjoyed their time there. I’m so pleased with their progress and how prepared for school they are now.

Over the years that our daughter has attended this nursery, she’s had not only great care and encouragement, the opportunity to try different activities and make friends, but also a great deal of fun. We have always had good communication from staff, and as she approaches the end of her time there, we feel she’s been well prepared for the start of school.

We are so thrilled to have found Jesmond Nursery. It's been such a positive experience for us and our little girl since day one. The staff have been brilliant - very warm and reassuring in those early days when she first started at 10-months-old and incredibly professional throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. She can't contain her excitement when she knows it's a 'nursery day' and is thriving in the caring and fun environment provided. We're really happy with the regular comms from the nursery and regular app updates about her day and ongoing development. We also love their focus on diversity and celebration of different cultures. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Our daughter has been going to Jesmond Nursery for the last 9-months, and she absolutely loves it. We rarely have any drop off issues as she is so keen to get in there! We visited other nurseries but chose Jesmond Nursery because of the variety of activities provided for the children, even in the baby room, toys and stations were changed during the day. She loves the food, and the nursery always seems to get her to eat more than we can at home and did I mention, the on-site chef who prepares pretty much all the meals from scratch. We really liked that they take the children out of nursery on little trips to the library and park for example, and I think these get more exciting as the children get older. In addition, the nursery has always tried to be flexible when we have needed additional days at short notice. I have a lot of fluctuations in my working pattern, and I've found nursery to be very accomodating. We're so pleased with our choice; it certainly made going back to work much easier!

We highly recommend Jesmond if you’re looking for a nursery.

Our daughter has been going to the nursery since she turned 6-months-old. She absolutely loves it, and we are seeing the nursery as an extension of our family/caring capacity for her. She has had the freedom to explore and grow at her own rate (not an easy challenge as she is very energetic and stopped taking lunchtime naps early on). The outdoor space and there is plenty of it, (that is used throughout the year) is great for her activity needs. She also loves the music and art sessions. The communication between nursery and parents is wonderful and facilitated by the use of an app that is updated in near real-time. The days are well structured, and there is plenty of opportunities to see what the kids do/learn (open days, Christmas carols). During COVID-19, the nursery was incredibly accommodating to 'parents' needs, which was great to see. More importantly, when the doors re-opened, our daughter couldn't' wait to reconnect with her friends and staff.

Having childcare we can trust, means it has been easier to work as we have peace of mind which is priceless. We are so happy a friend recommended this nursery. It has genuinely changed our lives. Thank you so much to all staff. We will continue to sing your praises to all we meet.

Our daughter has attended Jesmond Nursery since the age of 10-months. She is now three and a half, and we could not recommend the nursery highly enough. The range of activities available for the children are superb, and we feel the nursery team always go above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations and offer the best possible environment for the children to thrive in. The communication with parents is fantastic, and every last detail is attended to. The best asset, however, is the staff. Each and every member of staff displays genuine care, concern and interest in each and every child, which continuously provides a positive and happy environment for the children and their parents to enjoy. We viewed a number of nurseries when deciding where would be best for our daughter and we are delighted that we chose Jesmond Nursery.

My daughter is five this year, she’s been in Jesmond Nursery since she was 11-months-old. The place is amazing, all the staff are fantastic so professional and caring and really know the children. The day trips they took the classes too were lovely - walking to the exhibition park, the book store to pick books, pet shop, Theatre at Christmas; the list goes on. Thank you, we’ll be sad to leave, but she’s had a fantastic time, and will definitely miss the cooking.

My two children, ages 2 and 4, have been attending Jesmond nursery since they were 1 and they both love it. The extra support the team have provided to them both has been exceptional, and every member of staff makes such an effort to build relationships with all of the children and parents at the nursery, which is lovely to see on a daily basis. Thoroughly recommend this nursery to anyone.

As a mother of a son who was born in a mixed family, I was worried about him being accepted by nursery staff and other children. I was also concern about what other parents are like. Food - if it will be healthy or will it be enough; changing nappy frequently, and of course safety. Now my child is already a year at the nursery, he is developing all skills he supposed to and even more. There are so many activities which are very educational like painting, cooking/baking, reading books, singing. Food is always fresh, and every day there are fruits. They really pay attention to what you say at the beginning - what you want your child to eat and what you won't, etc. Thanks to the application, I can always check how his day is going, how many times he was changed and how much he ate. I love this nursery. I am so glad my child is there. The staff working there are so dedicated to working with kids. From the first visit, you feel it is a positive place. I would choose this nursery again and again.

My daughter has recently joined Jesmond Nursery, and the staff could not have been more supportive, especially given the current pandemic, and getting back to some sort of normality. They have put a lot of care into making sure the children are safe whilst also feeling welcome and secure in their environment. The facilities are excellent, the staff very caring, and they really put my mind at ease from the first day we visited. I would not hesitate in recommending the nursery to any new parents.
