The nursery provides such a warm home from home for the children. Individual interests are noted and included in the planning regularly.
My child has an amazing bond with her key worker who she loves but also it seems that every member of staff takes an interest in every child, so they are always
met by familiar faces who know them well.
We can't recommend it highly enough.

Tots n Tykes are a very welcoming setting with a friendly staff team.
The children get treated with respect, and they are listened to.
If my daughter gets upset, there's always someone to give her a cuddle.
The management are enthusiastic and take the time to see you with any questions, or suggestions.
They
take the children outside no matter what the weather (unless it is extreme) which is amazing, and even the little ones get to go out on little trips to places like the local park, which is fantastic.
The open door policy with the slightly older children upstairs is amazing, and my older daughter could go outside whenever she wanted.
Not to forget the kitchen staff.
Apparently, my little girl eats all her dinners and snacks, and they hardly ever offer unhealthy sugary desserts/ snacks (unless there are celebrations of course!) which is really amazing, and I'm grateful for that.
I believe Tots n Tykes is a nurturing, inspiring and fun place for children to go to.

My son has been attending Tots n Tykes for a couple of years now. During that time the nursery has played a significant part in his development and confidence. I find all of the staff to be friendly and caring, whilst also ensuring that discipline is maintained.

We chose the Tots n Tykes after

a meeting with the Nursery Manager, who talked passionately about recognising the children's development and educational needs before moving on to the fun stuff.

The staff at Tots n Tykes always have the parents in mind too. It's lovely when he comes home with a cards or hand made presents on special occasions.

Sometimes it's the little things that matter. He has been taught some basic sign language by the nursery practitioners and this impresses everyone that he uses it on!

All in all, we are extremely satisfied with the staff and facilities at Tots n Tykes....we made a great choice.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Tots n Tykes to anyone. My twins have attended since they were approx 18 months and will soon be moving on to school. The facilities are great and location is handy and central. There are great meals provided and the nursery is always clean There are varied
and different spaces inside from messy play to sensory room and plenty of outdoor space and activities.
There are also water confidence lessons on offer as well as forestry school. The main selling point for me is the staff right from top to bottom they are first class. They really do care about your children and their development. My kids have formed really strong bonds with their key workers and we will all be very sad when they move on to school. I have noticed a very positive development from my children since attending tots n tykes and I am really glad we decided to chose Tots n tykes.

Both of my children have attended Tots N Tykes over the last 6 years (both starting in baby room around 9/10 months old and moving through into pre-school until 3/4 yrs old). I can honestly say that from their first visit day until their last day both of my children have been settled, happy and extremely
well cared for. I feel that the 'family/home from home' atmosphere that is evident from the moment you step foot through the door has most definitely contributed to this. Every single member of staff is competent and shows a genuine interest of the children in their care. Attention to detail and the personal touch are both things the nursery should be proud of, from the food served to communication with parents, displays around the nursery to activities planned and so much more. Knowing my children have been left in such a caring, safe, stimulating environment has greatly reduced the anxiety associated with the daunting task of returning to work.

Both my children currently attend the nursery and I couldn't be happier with the standard of care they receive. The staff are very warm and friendly to family and form bonds with the children which I feel is very important.
I love the small intimate nature of the nursery. I chose it because it felt
more personal, less sterile than some other nurseries I had visited.
The staff are very accommodating to each of my children's routines and dietary requirements and offer feedback at the end of the day.
The transition period when first starting was excellent and both my children settled very quickly and this continues when they have moved to a different room and age group. The children have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities available from the baby room, through to the toddler room and pre-school. I feel the nursery has always supported early learning while still encouraging play and creativity, encouraging them to be children!

My son has attended Tots n Tykes for two years, starting in the toddlers room and progressing to preschool. He has been very happy there, particularly in his last year in preschool where he has come on in leaps and bounds. The staff have without exception been fantastic - nurturing and attentive - and
the nursery goes above and beyond in their provision of interesting activities for the children, including inviting parents in for special occasions like mother's day tea and father's day breakfast. Learning is embedded in everything they do (particularly in preschool) but in an engaging way that is led by the children's interests. Having access to external activities like swimming lessons and forest school has been a bonus too. I am really happy I chose Tots n Tykes and would recommend it to anyone.

I have now had two children through Tots N Tykes since 2010. I originally heard good things about the nursery from local childminders compared to other local providers. I went to visit and fell in love with how homely it felt and after visiting many nurseries it seemed to be the only one where the staff
seemed happy and engaged with the kids. I thinks it's important for children to feel at home when you have to go to work. Even though they are small I love the outdoor areas and the fact they can play outside all day if they want to. The staff seemed to be encouraged to form bonds with the children, which I think is excellent as young children need this. I sometimes take my daughter back to pick up my son and all the staff seem excited to see her and she was only there one day a week.

I also really love how flexible and accommodating they are to changing family situations and work schedules. They always seem like they are trying to help!

Both of my children currently attend Tots 'n' Tykes and both really enjoy their time at nursery. My daughter has had lots of allergies which the nursery has helped manage. There is both inside activity areas as well as access to the gardens, one for the little tots and one for the preschool children.
The activities in nursery are varied, stimulating and educational including build projects (in the Pre School room) such as building a house out of egg boxes. There are lots of external activities making use of the local park, library, schools and leisure centre. I cannot recommend this nursery enough both of my children are confident and happy and have made lots of friends within the nursery.

I feel very happy with the care and the level of provision provided for the my child at Tots n Tykes. The staff know him very well and always give me great feedback about his day.

The staff are knowledgeable and have an excellent manner with the children. I particularly like the way they foster good

routines and habits and encourage independence.

I would happily recommend the nursery to friends and family.

My son has been going to Tots n Tykes Nursery 3 and a half years. My wife and I have been happy with the progress in learning since he has been at the nursery. The baby and toddlers room have friendly, caring staff and the outdoor space has recently updated for children to spend more time outside with
staff. My son is one of the eldest children at the nursery at the moment. His key workers has been with him for most of the time he has been there. We have noticed a massive change in his development through spending 3 days a week with Tots n Tykes Nursery.

We have had three children attend the nursery over the past 13 years, during this time we have seen the nursery go from strength to strength with a clear focus on quality and high quality care being provided. Our youngest is still at nursery and when we ask his older siblings about their time at nursery
they always talk fondly of their time spent their. We feel involved as parents and the extra curricula activities available such as water confidence have enabled our youngest get a head start on important life skills. Our son start's the forest school project this term and he is very excited about this as it's at one of the local schools, the nursery also puts on a Christmas production, sports day, Easter egg hunts, graduation ceremonies and the children leaving for school get to go on a special leaver's trip. Many of the staff have worked at the nursery for years and it's been nice to see the same faces throughout the years, the staff are warm and welcoming and when your children speak of their past key workers this tells me all I need to know about how good the staff are.
All our children have loved their time at nursery and would highly recommend to others.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.578)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.578) out of 10 for Thrive Pudsey is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.927 for Thrive Pudsey is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.927
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.651 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thrive Pudsey is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.851
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
