Three Bears Nursery and Preschool is a family run private day nursery set in far Headingley/West Park in North Leeds. The nursery was first established in 2005 and has since grown to the 50 place nursery it is today. The team at Three Bears place the happiness, safety and development of every child at the centre of everything, from the daily care routines, to the Key Person system, the array of different outdoor play spaces, weekly activities and healthy seasonal menus.

Three Bears Nursery is a registered childcare provider with OFSTED Early Years. Their latest Ofted inspection was carried out on 7 December 2021 when they were graded a 'Good' Provider in all areas.

The nursery is located at 226 Otley Road en-route to Headingley 2 minutes from Leeds Beckett Headingley campus and 10 minutes from University of Leeds. There is a large onsite car park making drop-offs and pickups as easy as possible for parents.

Wonderful setting with a fantastic staff that create a home from home environment. The activities are fantastic with a real emphasis on innovation and the outdoors, the children are engaged and encouraged to ask questions and learn in a safe and supported environment. The work they’ve done in the last
12 months during Covid has been particularly welcomed.

My daughter attended and loved Three Bears from 2014 - 2017. My son, now 3 is loving it there and has done since he was 6 months old. It is a lovely small setting with a family feel and great outdoor space. Staff have always been excellent. Would highly recommend Three Bears.

Both my children have attended Three Bears Nursery and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. The care is exceptional and my children have always felt safe and been happy there. The updates on their learning progress is excellent.

The staff are kind and open to communication. They take seriously any concerns I might have and value my concerns as a mother. My son is happy to come to the nursery and he is in a safe environment.

My son has really enjoyed his time at Three Bears Nursery. The staff here are all wonderfully helpful with us and also with him. Whether it's a special request of diet, or nap time or just answering questions as our son has progressed into a fully-fledged toddler. The staff at Three Bears are ready
and willing to help. The kids eat so well and have much playtime together so my son comes home tired, happy and full of stories. As a new parent, it's been so reassuring. My wife and I looked at many nurseries in the area before choosing this one. Would we recommend? 100% - yes.

It’s easy to communicate with Three Bears. All staff are approachable and I’m really pleased that we get monthly updates via email on what the set tasks and events are for the month. It helps me bond with my child more, especially as I don’t see him the whole day. He’s pleased that I can relate and
am aware of what he is up to in preschool. I also like the healthy eating recipes, I will try to do this at home, again showing my son that I share in his activities in school.

My husband and I love this nursery because our little boy is so happy. All staff members are friendly and approachable. There's a lovely atmosphere when dropping off and picking up. Access to the electronic journal is helpful and informative. We can see the progress our little boy is making and it's
great to see the photos and videos of him playing with his friends. Detailed handovers are also given by the staff on a daily basis. All meals are fresh and cooked on site.
We are extremely happy we chose Three Bears Nursery!

My little boy has settled lovely into nursery, he loves the Staff and children, everyone was very welcoming and calm, very homely vibe.
My little boy loves outdoor play and I am so happy, it’s encouraged they play outside in all weathers and he loves it, this has helped his development massively and
I love to see him getting involved with new activities.
The room is always age-appropriate and set out to invite children’s interests.
The learning book really encourages the parent partnership and helps me see a side of my child I might not see at home.

My daughter has been attending Three Bears since she was 11 months old. We really love the homely feel of Three Bears. It is relatively small and family-run so you get to know all of the staff there - each of them friendly and approachable and show a genuine interest in my child, which is lovely. I
really like how the children have opportunities to mix with different age groups, the large amounts of time they spend playing outside and the healthy menus. My little girl gets lots of opportunities to splash about in water which she loves and she often mentions the nursery staff at home.
The managers are very approachable and flexible with days which I really appreciate. They are always involving parents and carers in the running of the nursery, asking for feedback, sending out newsletters, asking for family photos for display boards etc. We have recently been invited to a garden party at the nursery. I am already recommending the nursery to my pregnant friends.

I have found this nursery to be a warm welcoming and nurturing place for my son. It has a lovely family feel. They have provided very consistent boundaries and routines. They have gone to great lengths to ensure his dietary needs are met and regularly check things out with me. His workers talk very
warm and affectionately about him and he is always very happy to see them. They are caring and thoughtful about him. They are always happy to add sessions according to my needs ie school holidays. They are always more than happy to spend time talking about his care and development. He has lovely home-cooked nutritious meals. They do appropriate and creative play and activities inline with his developmental needs. The owners of this nursery are genuinely lovely people and their love and care permeates the nursery and the lovely staff who all appear happy and smiley.

My daughter has been going to Three Bears for nearly 3 years and my son has just started. From our first visit, we instantly knew this was the nursery for us. Everyone is so lovely and I've got peace of mind that my children are well cared for.


There are lots of activities arranged throughout the

year and classes run for the children.


We get asked our opinion on menu ideas which is great. The nursery takes nutrition very seriously and have recently been sharing healthy tips and recipes with parents via their newsletters.


I highly recommend this nursery.

My little girl has been going to the nursery since September 2018 and we are extremely satisfied with it. We love that it is a small local nursery not owned by a national franchise and try and do things with local organisations (such as the police visit). The nursery includes everything that a parent
would want from one.
Every month the staff plan many different and exciting activities that will help the little ones learn.
There's a huge back garden where they can play safely!
There are different and nutritious meals every season.
The staff is friendly and welcoming! And always open to suggestions and comments.

My daughter loves the Creche, she doesn’t want to leave usually at the end of the day! She has made some great friends at the school. The carers are very professional and seem genuinely concerned for the children’s welfare unlike previous schools my daughter has attended. There is a lot of diversity
at the Creche with activities ie the library bus which she loves. The menu is great, I am learning my daughter is having a varied diet and actually eating vegetables she wouldn’t eat at home!
Senior management is very organised with regular updates, attentive to the parents' needs and always accommodating with special requests relating to the parents' child.


I would fully recommend this nursery to any potential parent looking for a childcare provider and it’s a shame the age range goes up to 4!

Child is usually very happy to go. On occasions when child is difficult, staff have been extremely helpful. Daily care of a high level and good honest feedback on daily basis.
