The Academy @ Almondbury offers children an exciting space to play and learn in, with caring staff who are fully qualified, including four at degree level. Children are encouraged to spend lots of time outside during their nursery day and activities often take place in the Mud Kitchen and Vegetable Garden.


Inside, a range of age appropriate rooms have been fitted with resources and toys that will help children develop both socially and emotionally and educationally.

Overall Experience
Since our grandson started attending this nursery all our impressions have been extremely positive. In all our dealings with the carers/staff, a positive, professional and caring attitude has been shown.

Events outside the nursery have all been well organised and first class.

Overall Experience
I was very nervous about leaving my son for the first time but the staff at The Academy made us both feel at ease and very comfortable. Everyone is so friendly! His development over the past few months of being there has been incredible. The staff are attentive and nurturing. They encourage growth and learning! He’s more confident, likes to do a lot for himself now and talks so much!

It was important to me that my son eats well and healthily and the menu they provide is perfect, he also had some dietary requirements which wasn’t a problem for the nursery. I just couldn’t be more pleased that I chose The Academy and my son loves going.

Brilliant nursery. Staff work hard to build trust and relationships with children and parents. I wouldn't want to send my children anywhere else.

Overall Experience
My son really enjoys coming to nursery. He walks in happily and helps himself to toast in the morning.
The staff are approachable and friendly and my son is clearly comfortable with them.
I like the range of activities the nursery offers and seeing what he has been doing through his observations.

My son has attended The Academy since being one year old, he is now 3 and a half.
I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful nursery.

All of the staff are very friendly and extremely kind and caring. They are always happy to listen and they work very hard and go above and beyond their normal job descriptions. My son has thrived here. My second son will start here shortly. I would recommend this nursery to anyone, a home from home for my son.

Our daughter loves going to nursery here. She goes 3 times a week and every morning when I tell her we are going, she gets so excited. She tells me her key worker is her best friend, which is exactly what you want to hear.

The staff are all friendly and great with the children and the facilities are excellent.

Overall Experience

My son has been at this nursery for three years now. I was given the opportunity to put him in a preschool nursery before he starts full-time school next September but I chose not to as he and I both love this nursery. He is comfortable, confident and has made great relationships with friends and staff. The recent Christmas party was a great success and all the staff went to so much effort to give the kids a great day.

Overall Experience
We first enrolled our son in toddler room age 2. He settled in from the moment he walked through the door and has loved going ever since. We noticed the positive affect that going has had on our son very quickly. The staff have always been very supportive to our son and me particularly throughout the challenges of my second pregnancy and the difficulties of my second baby’s stay in hospital. We were always made to feel that our son would be looked after and that they genuinely care about our child at an especially difficult time.

We wouldn’t think twice about where we intend our second child to go in future. Thank you.

What a fantastic 'homely' nursery The Academy is. My daughter has attended from being 2, to just leaving to start school in September and I can honestly say she has fully enjoyed her time there. From the warm, friendly and approachable staff to the wide and varied curriculum offered really does put The Academy miles above any other local nurseries. Always striving to provide the best, in a nurturing environment, a true home from home.

Overall Experience

From the date she started nursery her development, speech and learning has significantly improved. The staff and management are very caring. The facilities are very good, the food and drink is good. I would not hesitate to recommend family and friends to that establishment.

My child has been at the academy since September 2015. He has been extremely happy here and has been cared for and nurtured by all members of staff. On entering the building I found it very secure, members of the staff were really helpful, kind and welcoming. I was really surprised how my granddaughter settled. Overall Experience
The Academy first stood out to us with its locality and good words from friends.
We started using the academy over 5 years ago with our eldest.
Needless to say, it was a simple decision to enrol our 2nd child.
The staff have always been the best, pleasant, helpful, with both us and the children. Our kids have always enjoyed their time spent there and have always only said good things about their experiences there.

Overall a very great place to have our children attend.
