My son (sixteen months) started five months ago and has taken to the nursery instantly. One member of staff in the baby room is one of his favourite people and she has really made sure that he has settled into a good routine there. On the whole, my children love the nursery. They are always doing new and exciting activities and I get a good update for both on how their day has been when I collect them.

I cannot sing the praises of the staff at Stepping Stones Nursery Mirfield enough. All are incredibly friendly and welcoming and provide superb care for my children. The detail given at the end of each day is fantastic and both children really enjoy going. It’s a pleasure to hear about their day. I have seen so much development in them both since they started at the nursery and this is all down to the staff. The range of food on offer is great, as are the activities and outdoor areas.

Our son enjoys attending nursery. The staff are friendly, kind and helpful. They have good indoor and outdoor facilities for him to run around and burn off energy. We know he gets taken good care of while he is there. Our only criticism is we never get to know the personal details of his day. We are informed of what he eats or how long he's slept but we want to know what/who he has been playing with and his development. Overall we highly recommend Stepping Stones.

I’m Emily, the Nursery Manager here at Stepping Stones Mirfield. I first joined Stepping Stones in March 2015 as a Nursery Practitioner and quickly developed a passion for supporting children’s early years journeys. After spending some time away from the company managing another nursery, I was delighted to return to Stepping Stones in May 2021. Since then, I have continued to grow within the company and am incredibly proud to now lead our wonderful Mirfield team.
I hold a BTEC Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, along with a Certificate of Higher Education in Childhood Studies, making me Level 4 qualified. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained and the nursery’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am passionate about continuing to develop my own knowledge while supporting my team to provide the highest standards of care, learning, and support for every child.
I love being part of each child’s early years journey and seeing them develop their confidence, curiosity, and independence. As Nursery Manager, I am committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel happy, secure, and excited to learn. Building strong relationships with our children and families is at the heart of everything we do, and I feel incredibly privileged to play a part in helping every child get the very best start in life.
