Since the management changed, the nursery just isn't the same anymore. Communication has become awful and we were constantly being ignored. While some staff members are still lovely and do their best, the poor service has left my childs mother with so much anxiety that she would try to avoid going in. It's heartbreaking when a place meant to care for your child feels like it's more interested in making money than supporting families, leaving us feeling completely let down and unsupported. Prior to this we only kept our child there so we could get help with their ADHD/autism diagnosis, but we received no support whatsoever.

Stepping Stones is a lovely nursery. My son started here at the age of one and the staff have been so caring, friendly and supportive of both me and my son. I am amazed at all the fun activities and creative projects/games etc. the children get involved in. I feel like the nursery have played a vital role in his development. I’m Emily, the Nursery Manager here at Stepping Stones Mirfield. I first joined Stepping Stones in March 2015 as a Nursery Practitioner and quickly developed a passion for supporting children’s early years journeys. After spending some time away from the company managing another nursery, I was delighted to return to Stepping Stones in May 2021. Since then, I have continued to grow within the company and am incredibly proud to now lead our wonderful Mirfield team.
I hold a BTEC Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, along with a Certificate of Higher Education in Childhood Studies, making me Level 4 qualified. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained and the nursery’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am passionate about continuing to develop my own knowledge while supporting my team to provide the highest standards of care, learning, and support for every child.
I love being part of each child’s early years journey and seeing them develop their confidence, curiosity, and independence. As Nursery Manager, I am committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel happy, secure, and excited to learn. Building strong relationships with our children and families is at the heart of everything we do, and I feel incredibly privileged to play a part in helping every child get the very best start in life.
