Fixbees Day Care has been an established early years setting since 1993. It offers a warm and homely environment and caters for children from birth to five years old.

Fixbees prides itself on offering a high standard of care where staff are both passionate and knowledgeable in early years care.

Staff ensure they work in very close partnership with parents and carers and their practices are kept to an optimum level in regard to care, quality and health and safety. Staff engage with families well and they support them in all their home learning, social events and outings.

Fixbees Day Care has 2-year-old 15 hours of free childcare available for eligible families, government funding for 3 & 4-year-olds and also 30 hours funding for working parents.

Children are given lots of opportunity to get creative in the outdoors, with woodwork, loose parts play and caring for the fruit and vegetables which are grown every year.

Adopting the curiosity approach, the team encourage children's natural curiosity by promoting engagement with everyday items rather than modern toys and technology.

Menus are planned in house and children, parents and staff are actively involved in this process. Good quality, fresh, wholesome ingredients are used to prepare meals. The nursery supports local suppliers where reasonably practical and cater for a variety of special diets.

Both my children have attended the Fixbees nursery. One is now eight years old and the other is in the nursery now at age 4. The care, environment and learning have been fantastic. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone seeking a place for their child.

My son has been going to Fixbees since he was eight months old and it's safe to say he loves it here! The team are outstanding and really takes the time to get to know your child. My son is always smiling when he arrives and leaves and that's because of the nurturing environment Fixbees provides. We
visited a few other nurseries before deciding on Fixbees in 2022 and chose to go with Fixbees after seeing how happy the children already there were.


My son is now a toddler and still attends Fixbees, it's amazing to watch his personality and confidence grow, he has come on leaps and bounds with his speech and skills thanks to the play and learning activities provided by Fixbees. It's lovely to see what he has been up to via the parent portal and we always receive a full debrief of his day when we pick him up.


I would highly recommend Fixbees Nursery.

Honestly the best nursery I ever decided to send my child to. My child started here at 1 year old and worked his way up to Tweenies room and pre-school now. I have seen such a difference in my child's speech and he honestly wakes up every day saying he wants to go to nursery. One happy child, one happy
mother.


The staff are amazing and so helpful in any question I have. I always get a review of my child's day, toilet trips and dinner. Thank you Fixbees nursery. Highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant nursery! All the staff are amazing. My kids are happy and my nieces and nephews also came to this nursery! The best in Huddersfield is full of really caring and thoughtful safe staff members! And lovely environment.

Both my children came to Fixbees day nursery and my boys loved it there. The staff go above and beyond. The learning that my boys received was to a high standard and this now shows as they're doing well in school.

My child loves going to nursery. He often speaks about the staff while at home. He is developing some lovely manners. Good menu and he often has seconds. No complaints what so ever so grateful I can send my child to nursery knowing he's in safe hands and I don't have to worry.

Fixbees is an outstanding nursery, both our children have been attending Fixbees and they have enjoyed their time there. The staff are very welcoming and nurturing, when I have had concerns with any of my children such as illness or having a bad night, the staff will listen to my concerns and help my
child to settle in, they are never short on hugs. keeping them occupied with numerous fun activities and tasks.


The food menu is fantastic, even for fussy eaters and at times have catered for a halal menu. The learning activities are great and both my children have come home singing nursery rhymes and the alphabet. A really nice homely nursery- the children get a great start in life with a positive learning attitude and a loving environment.

My daughter has been back at Fixbees Private Day Nursery since April and initially struggled when back in tweenie room but the staff there are so amazing and welcoming that she settled in quickly. Now she is in pre-school she is really enjoying everything she does with the children and staff, they are
good at communicating which helps my daughter learn new things easily and every day she comes there is a happy story as she enjoys it so much.
If your child has any dietary requirements the cook is so helpful there and always goes over and beyond as my daughter has food allergies and they go over and beyond to ensure she’s included at mealtime.

My daughter absolutely loves Birkbees. She has developed such a strong bond with the staff and looks forward to going to nursery every morning! They always have such a variety of activities for the children to do and teach them about different cultures in amazing ways. She’s always coming home with
something she has painted/crafted that I can keep for her to look at when she’s older! Staff keep me updated on everything she has done through the day. I couldn’t recommend this place anymore!

Fixbees is such a lovely little nursery. The rooms are small and homely and you get that ‘family' feeling when you look around. That’s what grabbed me and made me want to send my child there. The activities they provide are always stimulating and fun. The food menu caters to all needs and is very healthy
and varied. For me and my family, Fixbees is wonderful and we love it!

My daughter started here since she was 1 year old and now she’s been in pre-school. She loves going there and every day she says more, more. Because of their encouragement, she is excited to wake up early and prepare to go there even on weekends. All the staffs are great. They are so kind, supportive,
respectful, enough patience and approachable. They are truly the best! They always come up with creative ways to teach children and provide them with a range of different activities in a really good environment. I would 100% recommend this nursery as they have the best childcare facility that makes both teaching and learning interesting which is amazing.

My daughter started here at 10 months old, I chose this nursery because of personal reasons I went here myself so I felt happy knowing the manager already. My daughter was in and out of nursery due to coronavirus and me being off work a significant amount of time however every time she returned she
was always made to feel welcome and she settled back in because of the care and commitment of the staff here. I can’t thank them enough for making both of us at ease and making sure my child is always happy and learning. I would 100% recommend anybody to this nursery. It is amazing.

My son loves going to nursery, his pre-school teachers are great and know him really well. They provide a range of activities and they often follow the children's interests. We were impressed this month with the woodwork that he did as nursery provide these great opportunities to develop different skills.
They cater to his dietary and health requirements well. Thank you to all staff at Fixbees.

My little girl started at Fixbees Nursery in 2015. It was her first nursery and went on to become the first nursery for my son too in 2017. Both of my children loved their time here, they both grew in confidence and made many friends and good relationships with the staff. Everyone at Fixbees was extremely
welcoming and helpful. The staff are extremely caring, compassionate and nurturing. They looked after both my children so well and also were so open and helpful with any questions or worries that I had. The play area is lovely and the food was brilliant. Trips and other outside activities were always very enjoyable for both my children. I would definitely recommend this nursery with no hesitation.

My little girl has been attending since October, she has recently turned two. She is so happy here and coming on leaps and bounds in her development. She is a very happy little girl at this nursery and they keep you informed on all things that happen. We have an online account and can see what she is
up to throughout the day. Great staff and great ratio of staff to kids, which I do think matters for development. Thanks for taking care of her so well.

We are very happy with the nursery. My daughter is comfortable there and goes in of her own accord with all members of staff. The staff are friendly and helpful with advice. The nursery is happy to accommodate any extra days I need which is very helpful. Her development matters assessment is currently
up-to-date but more pictures, recent ones, would be great to see. My daughter is coming on very well in her learning and social skills plus her speech is getting clearer every day. The staff have now offered to help with potty training - fab!

Andrea

Andrea Drake

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2024

Andrea has been based in our sister nursery as a Deputy Manager since 2012, she has recently moved to Fixbees taking on the Manager role here.

Andrea loves helping out in all rooms with different-aged children. She is a kind and caring person always ensuring everyone's best interest.


Andrea has a degree with Honours in Early Years Education as well as qualifications in leadership and management. Also Level 3 Early Years SENCO.

Sarah Bent

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager Joined: 2008

Sarah is a bright, enthusiastic and caring individual who has a wealth of experience working with early years children of all ages from babies to our Preschool children. Sarah started first at Birkbees Day Care and in 2010 moved to Fixbees and took on the role of Deputy Manager, a role for which she is highly respected. Since joining the nursery Sarah has started her own family and is a proud mum to two lovely little boys.
