Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool

When we moved to the area two years ago, our son had already been in another nursery, but it was immediately clear that he adjusted incredibly well to his new surroundings at Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool. This was all down to the warmth of the staff and their level of care, which has continued ever since. Our son has been through all three rooms (baby, toddler and now pre-school), with each move handled extremely well and all areas being designed to cater for the kids’ stage of development. The variety of food is a big plus point, we get a great level of communication through the app, and the biggest compliment is to say that our son absolutely loves going to nursery. We also hugely appreciate the flexibility that has been afforded on occasions where we’ve had to switch days or hours.

We've had two children at Kingswood, both starting in the baby room at age 11 months. Our daughter left a couple of years ago when she started school and our son is still in the preschool room. We couldn't recommend Kingswood more highly! The staff have been uniformly lovely - so kind and patient and loving towards the children, always happy to chat for longer if there are any issues and to make suggestions and implement ideas to help them. You feel like they genuinely know your kids and really care about them. From the administrative side, Kingswood are very flexible, much more so than any other nursery I've heard of, and excellent in terms of speed of communication etc.

Really great nursery, our toddler is always so happy to go and also on pickups which is exactly what we want from a nursery. All the staff are really friendly and have great bonds with the children. Plenty of different activities to keep them entertained.

My child went to Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool for around 18 months, in the Baby and Toddler rooms. We are delighted with the nursery. The staff are really warm and caring. My child found settling in difficult and the staff were really supportive in helping him settle in. He is always welcomed warmly on arrival, and we get good feedback about his day. They do lots of fun activities - he often brings home crafts, they have somebody coming in to play football with the toddlers, they often have themed activity days, and he often sings songs he has learnt at nursery. He likes the food and will eat a wider variety of food at nursery than at home! Having free-flow to the outside for Toddlers has been great, he has spent lots of time outside. We've been really happy with Kingswood and thoroughly recommend them.

Our daughter started at Kingswood Day Nursery in the preschool room last year after moving to the area, and despite our worries about changing settings, she settled really quickly. She has built some lovely friendships during her time there, and the staff have been so welcoming from day one. She has great relationships with all of them, and they genuinely care about children’s well-being and progress. The activities are varied and engaging, and we enjoy getting regular updates and photos through the app. Communication from the nursery is excellent, and they are very accommodating with extra sessions and changing days where possible. Our daughter has really flourished in her time there, and we feel she is well prepared for starting school.

Our son has been at Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool for nearly 2 years now. We started not long after the first Covid lockdown and I can't praise the staff and management enough. Because of Covid our son had never even been looked after by a grandparent but the staff were fab and he quickly settled in. He has a great bond with many of the staff and is constantly talking about his friends and what they've been up to. The lovely thing about it being a fairly small setting is everyone seems to know him. We love how much time he gets to spend outside and he is flourishing with their care and support. We've always found the staff helpful and flexible if we've needed a last minute change. Although we aren't veggie at home our son loves the food provided and always seems to ask for seconds. Overall we couldn't be happier with our choice and our daughter will also be starting in the new year.

What makes Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool special from our perspective is the staff, you get what you put in and we genuinely feel everyone cares about what they are doing and looking after the little ones (all ages) it’s a hard demanding job looking after your own family imagine looking after everyone else’s! At the same time! The development and transferring of information between everyone is fantastic, constant progress is made to help the baby's/children blossom, always something new seems to be happening, Thank you Kingswood staff for doing an amazing job.

My son has been at Kingswood for nearly a year now and my daughter attended for 4 years. I thoroughly recommend it! The staff are wonderful. The management team have always been brilliant for accommodating specific requests and they were excellent providing support and advice when my son started attending Kingswood in the middle of the pandemic. Staff genuinely care about the children and work hard to support their individual needs. They also respect your choices, for example they won't push your child to potty-train if you think they're not ready, and they will wake your child if you don't want them to nap past a specific time. They encourage lots of outside play and messy time too, which is great!

Our child joined Kingswood's toddler room after a year in another nursery and settled in incredibly well, thanks to the caring and welcoming staff. He is now in pre-school and continues to enjoy every day - taking part in varied, interesting, and fun activities. Feedback regarding development has been great via their app. Kingswood have also been fantastic with regards to Covid precautionary measures, with helpful communication as policies have changed. We're very happy we chose this setting for our child and will be sending his younger sibling without a second thought.

My son has been attending Kingswood since April 2021 when he was 7 months old. The nursery is fantastic, I couldn't say enough positive things about them. They are genuinely caring and supportive of the children in their care, they arrange positive, interesting and engaging activities, support learning and development and really care for his wellbeing and development. They provide regular feedback, both through an app and in person. They also make sound and well-reasoned judgements on illness, risks and care. Thoroughly recommended.

As parents to a two-year-old, we could not be happier that we chose Kingswood Nursery. Through all the challenges of Covid, they have provided an amazing, caring service to us all, making life as normal as possible for our son. The nursery offer a lot of helpful, bespoke feedback on our son's development and behaviour.

Having spoken with a number of friends and colleagues who have similarly aged children, our view is that Kingswood has very sensible, strong leadership, making sound judgements on all things including illness, covid risks without defaulting to the easy option (send the child home without any real consideration) which isn't always in the best interest of the child. This isn't to be underestimated, particularly when both parents are working full time.

Our son is particularly fond of the staff and we all find they genuinely care in his wellbeing, fun and development. He chats about them at home! I couldn't rate this nursery highly enough.

My daughter has received amazing care at Kingswood over last year (during a pandemic also). The manager's dedication to excellence in nursery teaching and genuine love for my daughter has been beyond exceptional and her compassion has also been appreciated so much. She does run the nursery amazingly, a tight ship but only because she wants the absolute best for the children in her care and that really shows. My daughter's key worker has been amazing too, always kept me up to date on my daughter's learning, social skills progress, eating habits, and potty training. The food is great, my daughter always loved her healthy vegetarian lunches and snacks. They have plenty to eat and drink throughout the day. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kingswood Day Nursery to any parents in the local area if you are looking for staff who offer genuine love and care for your babies and toddlers.

Both of my girls have attended from being only a few months old, between April 2010 and up until now. I can honestly say during that time they have both had the most amazing nursery experience. The staff, most of whom are still there, even though my girls are 6 years apart, are exemplary, and the children just thrive in the environment created. I cannot speak highly enough or express my gratitude more highly for the role Kingswood has played in my girls' foundation years.

My son has been attending Kingswood Day Nursery & Preschool since he was 9 months old. The staff are amazing and know him so well. They provide great feedback about his development and what he's been doing throughout the day. It's great to see his achievements on the app and it's nice for his dad to be involved in this. The management team are always flexible too which helps our working life. My son loves going to nursery and I find it reassuring that he's being looked after by the most caring bunch of girls. I will be so sad when he leaves in a few months! Thank you for all that you do for us.

We visited a few nurseries and Kingswood Day Nursery was by far the best. It had a warm and friendly feel with the emphasis on nurturing and child led learning. The manager spent time answering our questions and we had a good tour of all the buildings and outside area (pre-Covid). Since going to nursery two days a week, our daughter has come on really well with her speech and development. She now says lots of words and has started putting them together. She also is very sociable and her favourite thing is to copy people. She loves going to nursery and has a good relationship with her key worker who updates us regularly on her activities. We would definitely recommend this nursery.

Communication from the manager and her staff is clear, and we always get prompt and helpful responses. Throughout covid, they have gone above and beyond to try to keep things as normal as possible for the children, and provided essential support for us to allow myself and my partner to continue working as key workers.

Our two daughters started at Kingswood in September after recently moving to Sheffield. We couldn’t be happier with how Kingswood have dealt with settling them into the nursery and at such a tricky time. They can’t wait to go to each session and come out with huge smiles at the end of the day, which has been really reassuring as a parent. Communication with the EY Log system has been great and staff always provide detailed updates on how they are getting on. It’s lovely to arrive and see them playing outside almost every session and lots of art, singing and creative play going on.

Great nursery- my 2 girls have attended Kingswood Nursery and now my 3rd child loves it too she has a home away from home and smiles every time I leave her there. The staff are so good and take such good care of her. The management is very accommodating in shuffling my daughter's nursery days and times to accommodate my working pattern. The staff offers parents complete trust, learning with a welcome emphasis on fun and a top level of care. They manage to balance being a very secure and well-organised environment with being laid-back and welcoming.
