Little Achievers Forest School Nursery is situated within 120 acres of farmland and makes the most of an attractive and interesting location in which to encourage early years learning and activities. The views over the local area are breathtaking, you can see for miles and this is the location of the children's outdoor play areas.

Children can play in their forest school and be part of nature in action. Forest school is a different way of learning, the ever-changing outdoors, the passage of time, the changes in seasons, nature, different sources of smells and textures. The ever-changing environment can stimulate learning in a very different environment.

While offering an excellent Early Years Education through inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach the nursery also holds the coveted Lancashire Quality Award for excellence Children experience accelerated learning techniques in a unique environment and develop a new range of skills, communication and improved health and personal development by spending time learning outdoors. This regular time spent in changing outdoor spaces and the accompanying reflective practice, develops a child's resilience and reframes a child's own view of risk.

Providing realistic challenges for children and allowing them to work through tasks themselves supports their development; actively engaging them to understand themselves and each other, promoting communication, problem-solving and social skills.

All children are looked after by fully-qualified professionals. A range of extracurricular activities are available - including access to Forest School Nursery, swimming and performing along with sport activities too
All pre-school children within the nursery are able to access forest school sessions within their timetable of nursery attendance.

Learning journeys for all children are offered both to see the progress their child is making at nursery via photographs, wri

My Children love this nursery and the staff are absolutely fabulous. Lovely, warm welcoming environment and everyone is always helpful. The Eylog is great for communication and keeping parents up to date. It is in a lovely location with great scenery and lots of extracurricular activities going on in
preschool.

Little Achievers Forest School Nursery has been a lovely experience for both me and my 2yr old son. Since the day he started he has enjoyed all his sessions. He has become a more confident little boy and has learnt so many new skills.
The nursery is set in a very quiet location on a farm in a very
peaceful environment. My son loves to see the sheep that are out and about before he starts.
The staff are great and have always been nothing but friendly. I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd child and will be sure to send my son to this nursery.

My daughter attends Little Achievers 3 days a week. During that time I am confident that my daughter is in good hands whilst I am work. The staff are brilliant and make the children feel comfortable when with them. I would strongly recommend this nursery.

We have found that the kids love all the staff they have contact with. That is the main criteria as far as we are concerned. It is great that there is a way for them to learn whilst enjoying themselves. Having friends and family in the teaching profession has given us a rather cynical view of the way
OFSTED reports on facilities like this. It is only through our own experience that we can say the nursery is a perfect balance of play, learning, security and emotional support. The whole team should be proud of themselves because it is them that make it such a well rounded setting.

A very friendly, welcoming nursery that my child enjoys attending. The staff have worked very hard to foster a close relationship with my child and as a result, she feels safe and loves attending.
Would definitely recommend for prospective parents.

My daughter has been attending Little Achievers since she was 9 months old (now 3) for 2 days a week. All the staff are very kind and caring and have taken the time to get to know her.
My daughter looks forward to her time at nursery and always comes home singing and chattering about the things she
has been doing and all her friends. Highly recommend.

My daughter is very happy to attend here and always has lots to say about what activities she has done that day. I receive emails with photos and feel like I am kept up to date with what she is doing.
Communication with the manager is good and my daughter seems very comfortable with the staff and
her key worker.

My daughter has been going to Little Achievers Forest School Nursery since summer 2015 and my younger daughter is due to start next month. The staff have always been fantastic with my elder daughter and she loves her time at nursery. There is a great range of activities for the children to participate
in and the setting is fantastic too - we often have to stop to look at the sheep when I pick her up!

My daughter loves coming to Little Achievers. Her key workers are great, very caring and committed to keeping all the children involved and happy in the setting. The location is perfect for a Forest School and the children love going outside and playing on the swing on the tree, or looking for bugs
and insects.

Little Achievers Forest School Nursery is absolutely fantastic! My son loves coming into nursery. The nursery staff and management are excellent and the EYELOG app is great for checking the daily progress of my son and viewing regular videos and pictures of what he is doing is superb!

My son had

a speech delay and it is so satisfying to see him flourish, the staff have been great at helping him with his development and it is such a pleasure to see how much he has improved.

The nursery is situated on a farm, so you get spectacular views of the surrounding farmland. It is a pleasure seeing the sunrise on a cold winter morning.

There is a comment about the track leading into the nursery but that has now been fixed.

I would class Little Achievers Forest School Nursery as a hidden gem in Blackburn and would highly recommend it to anybody thinking of sending their child there.

My son has settled into nursery really well with the support of the friendly staff. The staff are very welcoming and approachable, it is nice to see staff from different ethnic backgrounds working together to ensure all the children's needs are being met. The nursery has a lovely outdoors space with
a beautiful view of the farm. We are very happy with the repairs of the track and look forward to seeing my son grow up and join in all the fantastic extracurricular activities at nursery.

My experience with nursery staff is brilliant. They are so helpful and are doing a fab job. It's just a shame a male member of staff had to leave because I know the children enjoyed being around him. My boy especially missed him when he left and he still remembers him.

However I am disappointed in

management. I have mentioned the access road to nursery on numerous occasions and I have had the same reply that the repairs are imminent. My child has been at the nursery for two years now and I haven't seen any work being carried out. It's just a shame because I feel if I miss a payment you would be quick to act but on the access road there is no progress. At the same time you have lost business because I have recommended your nursery to friends and family but due to the access road they have chosen another nursery. Totally disappointing - I have considered to mention this on your Facebook.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.322)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.322) out of 10 for Little Achievers Forest School Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.989 for Little Achievers Forest School Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (94 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.989
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.333 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Achievers Forest School Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 number of registered child places is 15. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 15 = 0.533
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
