Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge, was originally established in 1991. The nursery is set in its own secure grounds with refurbished and resources indoor and outdoor areas which have been carefully planned and equipped to ensure children enjoy each day.

Children are served balanced and nutritious meals and snacks to make sure they have the energy to learn and play as much as they want. Mealtimes are social events and food is made by an on-site, qualified chef.

The nursery's staff support and nurture each child as they develop their physical and emotional skills.

Amazing nursery, can't fault it. They have really built a connection with our daughter and you can tell from all the feedback we receive from staff they are interacting and looking after the children all day.

I personally love this nursery. My little boy has only just left to go to school and he has been there since 9 months old. I think I miss this nursery more than he does. The staff that looked after him throughout were amazing- some had the pleasure of caring for him in more than one room so they had
a strong bond which was lovely to see. I would recommend here 100%. Amazing manager and amazing staff. What is also lovely is that the staff are appreciated too by management and I think that makes a huge difference.

Amazing nursery, my son has been going since he was 10 months old and loves it every day. Each day is different and the app is updated constantly throughout the day so I can always see what he has been doing. Would highly recommend it to any parent looking for a nursery in this area.

My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery 3 days a week. She has a lovely bond with all the staff. She has made lots of friends and grown up with them.
The activities they do with the children are fun and exciting. The nursery app is always updated daily, and it's a great way to see how my daughter
is doing during the day. I can't fault the nursery at all. The nursery chef offers a wide choice of foods which is excellent, my daughter has tried lots of new foods.

Cannot fault this nursery, the attention to detail and the love and care they provide to the children is amazing! So pleased with choice we made to send my child here! We get plenty of updates on how well our child is doing and the learning and development they are receiving! The staff are so passionate
and full of energy it’s lovely, constantly being inspirational with activities and coming up with different themes each week/month!
The environment of the nursery is clean and tidy with updates of the children’s work around the building!
The staff listen to your concerns and work alongside you to help your child out!
My child has come on leaps and bounds being at this nursery!

Amazing nursery with lovely staff, they are incredibly friendly and truly dedicated to providing the best care for children, so supportive, always coming up with great activities. We are kept up to date regularly with plenty of photos through the app. They offer fantastic home-cooked meals prepared
freshly every day.
My daughter has become much more confident, always comes home having had great experiences and demonstrating new skills every day, and she’s always excited to go to nursery.

An outstanding nursery with the most wonderful staff. We moved our child to this nursery after a friend recommended them. From the moment we went to look around we knew this was the right nursery and our child has been so happy since moving here.
We love seeing what their day has been like and all
the wonderful activities they do each day. We know how happy our child is here and this provides so much reassurance to us.
We are so happy we chose Shepherds Lodge and are so grateful for all the wonderful staff who care for our child so well.

Our daughter has been attending Shepherd Lodge Nursery since she was 9 months old. We visited almost every nursery in the area before making our decision and are so grateful we chose the right one for us. Each week we feel that our daughter is progressing in all areas of her development, her speech
skills have progressed so fast. We love the daily updates and being able to track what activities she is doing throughout the day and seeing such a variety of activities is amazing. The nursery always feels calm and organised, the staff are brilliant and our daughter is always excited to see them all each and every day.

Both of our children have attended Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge. Our daughter still attends. We feel the care and provision they received/receive are exceptional. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for her. They cater so lovingly for her additional needs and nothing is ever too much effort.
Our daughter makes such good progress under their care and absolutely loves her time at Shepherd Lodge. The learning environment is stimulating but calm and so carefully curated. The range of activities is excellent and is tailored thoughtfully to meet a range of developmental needs. There is also a lovely range of regular excursions and outings. The recent rise in fees has unfortunately meant we have had to scale back her hours which is such a shame because it's a truly special place with amazing people.

I couldn't be happier with the experience myself and my little one have received during his time at Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge. Throughout his nursery journey, we have been treated with care, empathy and compassion. The staff are very attentive to the children's needs, support development with engaging
activities and support children to build relationships. My little boy's favourite activities are the endless sporting options and anything outside in their wonderful garden.

I am absolutely blown away with Shepards Lodge. I had to move my child in October from another nursery as he really wasn’t happy and I just can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. He settled in instantly, the staff in the preschool unit have gone above and beyond to help him settle in along with the manager
who from the beginning to now has been wonderful. From crying every day at his old nursery to him running in excited to see his teachers and friends, it really is wonderful to see. The outdoor area is fantastic, they get taken out weekly to different places and we’re invited in to do family events/days. I honestly couldn’t give you one fault at all. I’m sure my boy will flourish here over the next two years. I feel so included on my child’s journey where I have never felt this before at his old setting. Thanks so much for being the best.

My son loves going to nursery largely due to the practitioners who provide activities for him to do. Some of the activities encourage his learning and development skills and while at nursery he has created bonds with both staff and other children. I know this because outside of nursery we have seen
some of his friends and he lights up when he sees them.

What a lovely nursery, so welcoming and friendly. My little boy has settled so well into preschool. They have many activities and are always interacting and getting involved in sports and other things. His learning has come in so well in the short time he's been there and he comes home talking about
phonic sounds and counting. The food choice is nutritious and also appetising to the children. We look forward to the next months with them before he starts school.

Shepherd Lodge has been an absolute god send. They have accommodated all our needs as we moved to the area and they did settling in sessions around us. They answered all our questions and there was alot! And honestly made us feel at ease. Our second is on the way and I can relax as I know we would send
her to Shepherd. The staff are amazing doing lots if activities and we love how much time they spend outside. The manager always has a friendly smile to greet us in the morning. What a wonderful nursery!

My daughter has been attending Shepherd Lodge nursery for a year now, and it is such a lovely homely setting. I was nervous about putting her into nursery after covid but she settled in straight away and I have seen her confidence grow since starting. The staff are excellent and I always feel like she

Honestly, the best nursery I could have hoped for. Had such bad experiences in other places but when I went in for a visit they made me and my son feel so welcome. I have been using Shepherd Lodge since 2017 when my eldest child first started in the baby room, now my youngest child goes and I honestly couldn't leave my children in better hands, all the staff are fabulous, you can see they truly care for each child and all are happy, warm and welcoming. It has
a wonderful home-from-home feel the moment you walk into the building. I can't recommend Shepherd Lodge enough, definitely the best nursery in St Annes, in my opinion.

Lynsey Broughton

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

I became nursery manager here in 2019 and have had the pleasure of watching my own little one grow up here too. I have a real passion for the outdoors and believe every child should have the opportunity to spend every day outdoors where possible. I am proud of our outdoor space here at Shepherd Lodge and the presence we have within our local community. I have a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
