My little one had a hard time adjusting to nursery. The staff were kind and attentive to his needs, but also to mine as a parent. They always had time to talk and reassure, and we never felt rushed. My little one does so many activities, has learned many new skills, has built relationships with the
staff and the other children who attend nursery, and always comes home with a story to tell. I trust them implicitly with the care of my child.
Reply from Matt Turner, Head of Preparatory School and Nursery at Rossall NurseryThank you so much for your lovely review. We understand that adjusting to nursery can be a big step for little ones (and parents too!), so we are delighted to hear that our staff's care and attentiveness made the transition easier for you both. It is wonderful to know that your child is thriving, building friendships, and enjoying all the activities we offer. Your trust means so much to us, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to many more happy stories from your little one!

Our children have been at Rossall Nursery since age one, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the very start, the nursery has provided a nurturing & stimulating environment where they have truly flourished. It has been fantastic to watch their confidence, independence, & social skills
develop. Since the appointment of the new nursery manager in September last year, the nursery has gone from strength to strength and there have been noticeable improvements in structure, curriculum, and communication. The team has introduced innovative and educational activities that have encouraged our children's curiosity and love for learning. Every day, they come home excited to tell us about their new experiences, whether it's exploring the outdoors, engaging in creative play, or learning about different cultures and traditions. We feel very fortunate to have found a nursery that not only meets but exceeds our expectations in every way. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent.

My baby has been attending the nursery since November. I love to see all the new things she learns and watching her confidence is growing as each week passes by is the best!
Knowing she happy and settled makes my days so much easier. She loves her nursery.
The relationships between herself and the
staff in her room is nothing short of amazing!

My son has been attending Rossall Nursery since 2020 and is in his final year before starting school. The nursery has been absolutely fantastic both in the exceptional care that they provide for my son and also in supporting myself and my family when we went through a bad time. My son loves going to
nursery and has absolutely excelled from the multitude of different activities that are provided and the support around his development. They have demonstrated great levels of safeguarding when needed and I feel very secure whilst he is in their care. The staff are also fantastic and they give a detailed handover each day and will chat to you about any concerns or worries; they do not feel like they are hurrying you out the door. The best thing about the nursery is the amount outdoor activities that are provided from football on the field to regular beach trips. I cannot recommend Rossall Nursery enough and will be really sad once it is time for him to leave and start school.

We have a little boy who is undiagnosed with autism so sending him to nursery was a massive anxiety and worry for me and his dad. Rossall have been more supportive and encouraging then we could ever have wished for, they really care about our sons development and extra support needs. He has one on one
time in a sensory room and they constantly keep us informed with what they're doing with him and how we can help his development too at home.
We honestly can't fault this nursery, they are arguably the best in Lancashire!

My little girl has been attending the nursery since she was 6 months old and is now nearly 2.
She is really thriving and it's lovely to see how confident she is with the staff and also the other children.
Leaving your young child while you work is never easy, but knowing she enjoys her nursery days
so much, and has a variety of things to do when she's there playing and learning, makes it that bit easier.

My sons attend Rossall Nursery and pre-school and are thriving. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure the children are happy, engaged, and safe. Both our boys have had a bumpy road health/development-wise so when we were looking for a nursery it had to be somewhere we felt comfortable with. From
the outset the staff at Rossall have treated our children with the utmost care and attention, and along the way they have offered additional support without being asked. For example, they have recently given my eldest 1:1 speaking practice which has been extremely helpful.
The thing I always tell other parents about Rossall Nursery/preschool is that whenever you drop the children off or collect them there is always a happy, calm atmosphere in the room. I imagine it might not feel like that all the time! But as a parent, it is very reassuring that you never walk into chaos.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Rossall Nursery and sincerely thank the staff for all that they do for my children.

Rossall Nursery is an outstanding place for our son. He loves going there every morning, even after a two week break. The staff are all incredible, supporting all areas of development and encourage them to push themselves further every day. Every few weeks there is a new development area, specifically
tailored to our son's needs with tips on how to support him at home.
The monthly book is one of our favourite aspects as it allows us to read and talk about it more at home. It definitely encourages them to love reading and they have craft sessions structured around the book theme. The children spend a lot of time outdoors on the Rossall grounds and by the beach, which is a fantastic opportunity for them. The support when transitioning from the baby room to the next stage was amazing, our son settled very well with settle in sessions, he will soon be joining the pre-school room. We have been advised ahead of time, things to expect and changes that will happen.

Our daughter started here in November and the staff have been so incredibly helpful, welcoming, supportive and informative for us as a family. Our daughter is really benefiting from the wide variety of activities they do with the children and we thoroughly enjoy keeping up with her progress on the app.
As first-time parents, the staff at the nursery have really gone out of their way to make us aware our daughter is having fun, learning new things and above all, is safe and well cared for when she is there. Thank you so much, Rossall! We’re so glad our daughter gets to grow up in such a wonderful environment!

My little boy has been attending Rossall Nursery since November 2020.
I can’t express how grateful I am to all the staff for creating such a nurturing, caring and inclusive environment for my little boy.
He adores all the members of staff and I feel so happy dropping him off knowing how much they
love and care for him. The SENCO help and expertise has been amazing and continues to support us in any way possible.
The facilities are amazing and the grounds offer endless opportunities for exploring. For example feeding (chasing) the free-range chickens, visiting the animals at the petting farm or building sandcastles at the beach.
My little boy has thrived at Rossall Nursery. As a family were so appreciative of everything and we will be so sad when the time comes for my little boy to leave and start his school journey.

Rossall Nursery is fantastic. I truly believe it is the best place for my son to start his educational journey.
The staff are kind, friendly, pleasant and informative. My son regularly talks about them at home and says he looks forward to seeing them, a true credit to the effort they exert in taking
care of him whilst he's there.
They regularly have the children partake in an array of learning activities. The facilities are exceptional, not forgetting the access to the beach which they regularly visit... exploring outdoors was an essential activity for us when looking for a nursery.
The variety of food is brilliant; my son has dairy allergies which for them, was no problem at all and they made it seamless to cater for.
My son has truly come on leaps and bounds since joining this nursery and I cannot recommend it enough.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.959 for Rossall Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (425 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 442 Ratings = 4.959
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rossall Nursery is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 number of registered child places is 18.8, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
