Where do I start, the staff are absolutely wonderful, it's not just a job to them! They all love it, and they make great connections with the children. We are so glad our daughter goes here, we saw such a difference in her within only a few weeks. During this hard time, we are all going through at the
moment, we still have great communication, and valuable help from the team with constant support and updates on what we can do to aid with the progression of our children's learning, so they don't miss out. This we have found to be of great help, we could not praise Poplars enough - they are great!
Reply from Hayley Hinton, Manager at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for taking the time to post a review and thank you for your kind words. This is such a difficult and frustrating time for many and it is during times such as this that parents often miss the support network that nurseries offer. I'm pleased you have found the updates and communications valuable and supportive and are reassured that we still value and prioritise all of the children's learning and development whatever the circumstances.

Ever since my first tour around, I knew this nursery was the best choice for my daughter. Her settling in the week went so smooth back in February 2019, and she has been happy ever since. Everyone warned me about being upset when I did the first drop off, but I wasn't because I could see she was excited
and intrigued. The nursery nurses are all so friendly, every morning I drop her off everyone's always so warming and my daughter is so excited to go in to see her little friends. From her first full week, I could see different things she was learning even if it was different noises at the time she was learning and continues to do so. The food is amazing, the app is great I check it throughout my day at work and it always got what she has been up to on there or what she's eaten etc. I always feel like I am up to date with what she has been up to. Best nursery and will always recommend, I will be gutted when she goes to school because it's just the nicest place to start our morning.
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for your kind words. We also feel that the app is a great channel of additional communication for our parents. I'm glad you find it reassuring as well as informative. Leaving your child in the care of somewhere new can be one of the hardest things to do as a parent, so it is truly lovely to hear that we have earned your trust. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I can’t speak highly enough of Poplars Nursery and every member of staff. They are very professional and highly skilled in all areas, are friendly and approachable. They treat all of the children in their care as individuals and are exceptional at identifying individual children’s needs and supporting
in every way whilst in a safe, secure, nurturing and caring environment. The learning experiences provided for all children are brilliant. The nursery has a really good atmosphere. The nursery garden and outdoor spaces are kept very clean, the cleanest I've seen and believe me I've seen a lot. My grandson has come on immensely over the time he has spent here. Thank you so much, everyone, at Poplars Nursery!
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsWhat lovely feedback. Thank you. We pride ourselves in recognising and responding to the fact that every child is unique and individual. It is so important that children feel valued for who they are, and are able to build up positive relationships with both their peers and adults. We also take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment too and I'm glad this is reflected when you come to the nursery.

I would just like to say, thank you so much for everything! This is the best experience we have ever had in an educational setting! The nursery is so well managed and this is reflected in the care, provision and atmosphere of the nursery. Everyone is happy, friendly and willing to help. The children
are happy at play and well-supervised anytime you visit and it’s just been so refreshing! Thanks for helping to prepare our son for the biggest transition yet!
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for such a lovely review. My grandson has come on in leaps and bounds since starting at Poplars and is now ready to face his next big challenge in life.
I can't praise the staff enough for their dedication to each individual child in their care. Thank you for your kindness and wonderful care, I would recommend your nursery
without a second thought, I hope you go from strength to strength in shaping the lives of all the children in your care and preparing them for the future.
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for taking the time to express your thoughts. It is so nice when our families and their wider family network can see how the children blossom and become prepared for the next stages of their learning and development. Nursery can often play a big part in getting them ready for school, but equally family life and support play the main part.

I am absolutely blown away by this nursery! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! The service standard is top-notch! You won’t find better!
The staff are compassionate, friendly and highly skilled. The provision is outstanding with classes in drama, Spanish, dance and more. The building
and gardens are maintained to an excellent standard and are welcoming, comfortable, light, airy and personalised with the children’s work and information for parents and carers.
Staff are always welcoming, available, willing to listen to any concerns and accommodate the needs of the children they care for. It really is the closest thing to a home from home environment with all the love, nurture and commitment along with everything you would normally expect from a learning environment. They treat all the children as individuals and really get to know each and every one of them in order to meet their individual needs! Thank you so much Poplars for such a wonderful nursery experience!

After looking at several nurseries and trialling them, this nursery was the cleanest and friendliest out of all of them. My child has developed massively in all areas since starting at Poplars. He’s so much more confident than before he started here. The staff are friendly and fantastic with the children,
the nursery is spotlessly clean and very safe for the children to play both inside and outside. The app that the nursery uses keeps me updated with messages and photos of my child whilst I’m at work, which is lovely whilst your not with them and wondering how your child’s day is going. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a safe, friendly and caring environment for their child to be looked after.
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for your lovely words. It is so reassuring for a parent to have open channels of communication at all times when they are not with their child and I'm so pleased that you feel you have this peace of mind. We do pride ourselves on being a friendly bunch and it helps so much more when the families at our nursery are so lovely.

My two daughters have both attended Poplars Nursery, my youngest is still there and attended the newly opened baby room. I cannot fault the care delivered by all staff at Poplars.
They treat each child like their own and truly love the job which is when in the best-individualised care given.

Having had our daughter in another nursery and not being happy we couldn't be more happy with Poplars. It is an excellent nursery, from the organisation to all of the key workers, it is by far the best nursery in the area. Our daughter has come on so much since being at Poplars, it is a testament to
the care and time each child is given to progress and get ready for school.

I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking in the Leyland area. You won't be disappointed.

I can't recommend Poplars highly enough.

My Daughter joined Poplars in May 2017 and we have never looked back. The staff are truly amazing and care for each child like they would their own. I can honestly say I feel so comfortable leaving my daughter with them as I know she is in safe hands.

In

the 18 months that she has been coming to Poplars, she has developed so much and has become her own person, that's thanks to the wonderful staff who take the time to bring out the best in the children.

She loves being part of the Poplars family and can't wait to come home and tell me all about her day.

I can thank the Poplars staff enough for everything they do xx

My son has been attending Poplars Nursery since September 2018 and I can not speak highly enough of the staff and the management. I didn't think my little boy would settle but he did and he is so happy, thanks to the amazing staff in the baby room. The ladies in there love their jobs and they love and
care for the children. My son adores his key worker and he has a great relationship with all the staff in his room. I feel like they know him really well and the handover each day is great. They have lots of time for every parent. The app means I can receive updates whilst I'm at work and see photographs of activities he's been doing, so I know he's getting the best care. The management can't do enough to help and know the children and parents very well. I've already recommended this nursery to a friend and she, in turn, has recommended it to her friend. I'm over the moon with Poplars and you really do deserve the Ofsted OUTSTANDING rating. You're all doing an amazing job. Thank you.
Reply from Hayley Hinton at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you. What a lovely response. I'm glad you feel happy and secure in the knowledge that your little man is in good hands. We could not be happier with Poplars. The staff are caring, professional and friendly. Our eldest loves the activities which are provided and it is spotlessly clean.
Communication is excellent and our children are developing well under their care. All of the key workers have built very good relationships
with our children and it makes going to work so much easier knowing how happy and settled our children are at Poplars. The Nursery Manager has gone above and beyond helping with a particular issue and I can’t praise everyone enough.
Reply from Hayley Hinton, Manager at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for taking the time to express your thoughts. This nursery isn’t just childcare but partners in your child’s development.
They get to know each child and parents as individuals. We work together so we can build on learning at home and they can build on home experiences. Anything from we took him to the zoo and now he’s doing animal activities,
so he’s working on colours at nursery and we hear him identify red when we play at home.
It’s so friendly and welcoming. The use of outside is brilliant and my son loves that he can play out in any weather. Honestly cannot fault the staff, management and environment. As a working mum, it means so much that his key worker has such a bond with him and he does with her. At first, I found that hard but they even understand that. We always have a catch up when dropping off and picking up. This is on top of the app and parents meetings. They are like extended family. I can’t say enough good things to do them justice.
Reply from Hayley Hinton, Manager at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for your lovely words. It is great to hear that you feel we are partners in your child's development. We do strive to ensure that we have open and honest communication channels and it is fantastic for us when parents and families support us further by extending their child's learning and development at home. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have such wonderful parents who are indeed a part of the Poplar's extended family.

I cannot fault this nursery one bit. I feel confident when I leave my baby that she is in a clean, loving and educated environment where she is having fun whilst also developing her skills. The setting of Poplars Nursery is clean and modern but the staff demonstrate values of good old-fashioned childcare
practitioners in the fact that they promote good manners from the children and also mutual respect. Money isn't an issue when it comes to my children but I do find Poplars Nursery very good value.
Reply from Hayley Hinton, Manager at Thrive Leyland MeadowsThank you for your comments. It's lovely to receive such complimentary feedback. Poplars Nursery is not only Ofsted "Outstanding" but from a parent's view, it is also outstanding.

It has just finished building extensions to provide even more of a safe learning experience for children and the nursery stayed open throughout the renovations and did not affect in anyway my child's

nursery experience. It's a loving, warm, caring experience not just for the children who attend but also for the parents. Thank you Poplars.

Our daughter attends this nursery two days a week and receives an outstanding level of childcare. The recent nursery expansion has meant that she has access to a variety of stimulating activities to support her development. We have excellent communication from her key worker, and the 'Home to Nursery'

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.968)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.968) out of 10 for Thrive Leyland Meadows is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.968 for Thrive Leyland Meadows is calculated as follows: ( (417 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 431 Ratings = 4.968
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Thrive Leyland Meadows is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 number of registered child places is 13.6, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
