Little Achievers Nursery in the Park, in Skelmersdale, has excellent indoor and outdoor play environments for early years learning, benefiting from strong community links, including with outreach workers and health visitors, to offer parents the complete childcare package.

Additional features include a fabulous Reggio Emilia inspired approach to early years, multi-sensory room, separate playrooms for babies and toddlers, and soft play surfacing. The nursery has pre-school facilities and an outdoor play is even accessible regardless of the weather. The multi-sensory room is a fabulous resource and the children benefit from spending time in this area, it can aid sensory skills and can be used to relax and calm too.

The outdoor area is amazing, with a very different covered area for all year around use and an outdoor activity room. Outdoors is split into areas to promote different challenges for children from potion making, constructing, tinkering on the piano, wheeled toys to aid spatial awareness, and a natural garden area for investigating and bug hunting.

Staff are all dedicated to ensuring the children have a safe, secure and stimulating environment that meets the children’s own individual needs and promoting independence whilst allowing them to take risks with adult support.

The nursery holds the coveted Millies Mark for excellence in paediatric First Aid (the only nursery in Skelmersdale to hold the award) and the Lancashire step into Quality Award.

Learning journeys for all children are offered both to see the progress their child is making at nursery via photographs, written comments and communication, along with being a beautiful portfolio of memories for the future.

Amazing staff and nursery.
Go above and beyond for the grandchildren.
Always happy to go to nursery and always happy when it's pick up.
Grandchildren have really blossomed since being at Little Achievers Nursery.
Would highly recommend Little Achievers in the Park to anyone.

My little boy has been attending Little Achievers since September and has come on so much with his development and social skills. Even though he is in five days a week he absolutely loves it and is always happy when I hand him over in the morning to the girls, especially the Room Leader of the Toddler
Room, he always goes straight in for a cuddle when he sees her. This for me assures me so much that he is happy and well looked after at Little Achievers. the Room Leader of the Baby Room is so lovely and caring that I have no worries or concerns, and I am always being kept up to date with food, nappy changes, pictures and assessments. All the staff at Little Achievers go above and beyond and they are a credit to the Nursery, without them Little Achievers would not be who they are. Fantastic Nursery.

My son under 1 year of age (who can't walk) sustained a double head injury falling off a bridge and had to be taken to hospital to be checked over after he was picked up. Upon arrival mother was ambushed with a form requesting to sign here without any explanation as to what had happened other than 'bump
on the head'. This form was then edited after mother had left. Little Achievers have admitted to editing the accident form after a signature was obtained instead of representing it which is alarming as the validity of the form has been compromised. Ofsted informed of all events and responses. I raised my concerns and this was passed to the company owner who had no sympathy other than you are not getting a refund as we have followed procedures? I'm yet to be asked how my son is after explaining he had to visit the hospital the same day.
A small court claim has been submitted to recover the money.

So this is a huge end of an era for me as a parent. My daughter, who is now seven years old, also came to Little Achievers Nursery. My son, who is four years old, has had his graduation today and it is very emotional. I cannot put into words how fantastic the manager and her team have been over the
years. Both of my children have enjoyed their time here and I have felt confident and comfortable with all staff, 100%. Thank you to you all.

I can't praise the nursery and staff enough. They always accommodate my two year old and my four year old when she uses the school Holiday club. My children enjoy nursery, they have fun, get educated and enjoy food throughout the day. There is always excellent communication from the staff on how my
daughter has been and how she is feeling and if there are any concerns. The staff listen to my concerns and keep me updated on my daughter's presentation. Would highly recommend the nursery and my girls love all the staff.

My little girl has been attending Little Achievers Nursery since she was four months old and I am so happy we chose this setting to be her first experience in education, I know she is safe and happy in a warm and friendly environment.
The staff are amazing, the amount of care, love and support they

My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was around 10 months old and she loves it (now 3). Her speech is amazing, everyday she comes home telling me something knew she’s learnt or done.

Fantastic friendly little nursery. My daughter loves coming here to play with all her friends. The nursery has great indoor and outdoor facilities for the children. The staff are just lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend the nursery enough!

Absolutely lovely nursery. Staff are also helpful and friendly it feels like dropping him off with family. My elder children attended this nursery too so have known most of the staff for 10 years. No high turnover of staff so the children really have a chance to make those attachments and bonds they
need at this age. Honestly couldn’t be happier or recommend them enough.

My daughter has been going to Little Achievers in Skelmersdale since she was 6 months old. The care and nurturing from all staff is outstanding to the children that go here. Little Achievers Nursery in the Park, is an excellent nursery. Staff are friendly and caring. My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 11 months old and is now just over 2 1/2 years old. She is a happy and confident child with help from the staff here at the nursery. I am an NHS worker and
so my shifts have no pattern, The Lead Professional has been so helpful and accommodating with this, we do not have set nursery days which is an invaluable help to us! And so greatly appreciated! I would recommend this nursery to anyone! It is fantastic.

Little Achievers Nursery is an amazing nursery. Since my little boy started here he has really improved with his speech and, along with the help of the staff, with his potty training. All in all it is a brilliant nursery and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Job Title: Nursery Lead Joined: 2001

Andrea Norbury is the Nursery Lead at Little Achievers Nursery in the Park. Andrea completed her NNEB in 1987 and has worked in childcare ever since. Andrea started her career as a nanny, then supported children with additional needs, after that Andrea worked for Social Care before entering the private sector in 2001. Since then Andrea has completed an NVQ level 4 in management, a Foundation Degree and more recently an NVQ level 4 in Business Administration. Andrea has been at Little Achievers Nursery in the Park since it opened in 2006.


Andrea is passionate about safeguarding and is enthusiastic about developing the nursery and implementing change. Andrea is married with two adult sons whom she is very proud of.
