Welcome to Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre-School. They welcome children between 2 and 4 years of age in their cosy converted home from home.

Highfield Priory's children have the freedom to experiment, discover and explore in its large outdoor area and carefully considered indoor learning environments. Who knows what trigger will ignite the spark that leads to the next architect, scientist or explorer? They have a large outdoor area that offers opportunities to be creative, physical and curious, whether this is painting in puddles, climbing on their new outdoor area or using a magnifying glass to carefully look at bugs under logs. Everything is an opportunity to learn!

Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre School promotes Forest Schooling, which is set within their beautiful private ‘Highfield Haven’. They have their very own Forest School Leader who ensures your children's days follow the rhythms of the children and the environment. Forest School is a long-term child-led educational process that promotes, observes and explicitly supports the social, emotional and physical development of children in a Woodland surrounding. All ages access forest school or nature-nurture sessions at Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre-school.

Highfield Priory allows children the freedom to explore, play and be themselves, whilst being at one with nature. Their days are child-led, they provide natural resources, tools, equipment, and structures. They find this freedom provides children with the opportunity to be creative and use their imagination to get lost in their world as they engage in play and use open-ended natural resources to support their play. A place where sticks become wands, trees become forts and children become dragons! The learning opportunities in this magical space are endless.

We are really pleased with Highfield. Since we moved our little girl she has really been given the opportunity to be herself and she is now so confident and is thriving in every aspect! The extra activities provided are amazing and I can't fault the nursery at all!

A truly incredible nursery. The staff are so kind and patient with the children and the activities are fun, engaging and they even go on school trips. It feels like every activity has been meticulously planned with the children, their development and enjoyment in mind.


The facilities are lovely, bright

and clean, and the children spend lots of time outside getting fresh air (they love the forest school). It's also really nice that they use the facilities of the main school. Healthy meal options too.

My little boy started nursery at Highfield Priory Nursery in January and by the end of the first week he was walking in with confidence. The staff are extremely nurturing and helped him settle in so well. As soon as we mention nursery, he gets excited which is a true testament to the team! He is doing
so many interesting things and is learning so much already. The communication from the staff is excellent. I can't wait to see how much he develops in such a nurturing environment!

From my own experience, I have found the nursery at Highfield Priory to be excellent for my 2-year-old son. He settled in straight away and is always happy at pick up thanks to the warm and friendly staff who are highly experienced and great at what they do.
I have been impressed at the array of activities
the children do such as forest school, sessions in the dance studio, weekly library visits, baking, sessions outdoors etc. All of these activities are helping to develop my son's confidence and a variety of skills. It is evident that the nursery is managed extremely well and all staff members take pride in the work they do which shows up on their smiles and the children's smiles too. I would encourage the staff to keep up the great work and to keep looking at opportunities for continuous improvement. This could even involve capturing ideas from parents, staff members and other leading nurseries around the country in order to keep evolving with the times.

This is an excellent nursery. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and have taken such good care of my twin boys. My boys started when they were 2 years old and I can see the progress they have made over the past 18 months. I can't recommend them enough!

Both of my children have attended Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre-School and I have found the provision to be excellent. From an educational perspective, the curriculum covers all key and statutory requirements whilst ensuring that the delivery is child-centred and tailored to the needs of the individual.
Where additional support is required this is always given in partnership with home. Communication is excellent on both informal and formal channels. Pastoral care is at the core of the provision with safeguarding running throughout and is again reinforced with positive practice and interaction. Values and ethos are evident in staff interactions with the children and this is reflected in the positive relationships created. School support staff assist in administrative matters and provide excellent communication. Despite a recent fire and change of building staff have dealt with this in such a way that it has not impacted on the children and their environment continues to help them flourish.

I am exceptionally pleased with the development my child has shown since joining Highfield. The teachers are caring and very professional.
My child has significantly matured in all areas of child development. The curriculum provides a wide range of activities from forest school to dancing. Strong

Highfield Priory Nursery has been fantastic from start to finish.
The staff are outstanding! You can clearly see they're genuinely concerned about the quality of care your children receive.
Each term they have a 'focus week' on your child. This involves them being individually studied to see what
their interests are, what they excel at and any area they may need extra attention on.
You're regularly brought in for parents' evening to keep you up to date on their progress and performance.
They often check if there are any changes in the children's personal lives, making sure the children are getting (if possible) even more care where necessary.
The facilities are amazing as well, with the children frequently experiencing dance classes, the sports hall, forest school, baking and plenty more. The garden is also massive and they get lots of time outside.
I'm sad to see my child leaving Nursery but I'm excited to watch her progress through the school.
This place is worth every penny!

I could not be more delighted with how our daughter has settled and is progressing at Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston. She is so happy at nursery, looks forward to going every day and has created lovely relationships with the staff and the other children.


Our daughter is able to follow

her interests while being guided to develop skills. In particular, her vocabulary has come on incredibly and her interest in reading and development of early phonics is wonderful.


The activities the children do (forest school, weekly library visits, dancing to name but a few) have developed her confidence and love of the outdoors.


The nursery is managed excellently and the whole team are clearly dedicated to their jobs and love working with the children.


The food the children are offered is delicious and nutritious and our daughter always asks for seconds! The staff also manage to get a very reluctant sleeper to nap each day!


I recommend this nursery to everyone!

My daughter has been attending Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston since she was eleven months old, she is now three and a half years. The nursery staff have always been fantastic with the care they provide her with and the support they offer to my partner and I. We are always very confident
that she is being well looked after and cared for. My daughter settled in very quickly and it's clear to see how much she enjoys her days there. The activities offered to the children really do give them the opportunity to embrace all their senses. Receiving the 'focus week' reports with photos gives me an insight into how much fun my daughter and her friends have together. The forest school activities are by far her favourite, she loves being outside with her friends in the woods learning new skills, making dens and learning about nature. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the nursery to others. It offers fantastic opportunities for children to achieve their potential.

Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston is like a home from home for my two children who attend. My little boy has been there from twelve months old and is now in the preschool and he really enjoys all the activities, including p.e,dancing and Forrest school. My little girl has also attended since
she was twelve months old and she’s now in nursery. She loves all the activities and learning experiences on offer, especially the messy play and splashing in the puddles with her friends. All the staff are very experienced, very friendly and make you feel super welcome. I would highly recommend Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston to anyone.

Both my daughters have attended Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston since they were six months old. My youngest is still going, currently five days a week and loves it. The staff are wonderfully caring and dedicated, yet honest about what kind of day the children have had. I am able to work
