Welcome to Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre-School. They welcome children between 2 and 4 years of age in their cosy converted home from home.

Highfield Priory's children have the freedom to experiment, discover and explore in its large outdoor area and carefully considered indoor learning environments. Who knows what trigger will ignite the spark that leads to the next architect, scientist or explorer? They have a large outdoor area that offers opportunities to be creative, physical and curious, whether this is painting in puddles, climbing on their new outdoor area or using a magnifying glass to carefully look at bugs under logs. Everything is an opportunity to learn!

Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre School promotes Forest Schooling, which is set within their beautiful private ‘Highfield Haven’. They have their very own Forest School Leader who ensures your children's days follow the rhythms of the children and the environment. Forest School is a long-term child-led educational process that promotes, observes and explicitly supports the social, emotional and physical development of children in a Woodland surrounding. All ages access forest school or nature-nurture sessions at Highfield Priory Nursery and Pre-school.

Highfield Priory allows children the freedom to explore, play and be themselves, whilst being at one with nature. Their days are child-led, they provide natural resources, tools, equipment, and structures. They find this freedom provides children with the opportunity to be creative and use their imagination to get lost in their world as they engage in play and use open-ended natural resources to support their play. A place where sticks become wands, trees become forts and children become dragons! The learning opportunities in this magical space are endless.

Lovely friendly nursery with a small homely feel to children’s surroundings. Friendly staff, who are flexible and accommodating with varying childcare needs. My two year old daughter loves attending and her days there are always full of varied activities.

My son first joined the nursery during the current pandemic and therefore I was a little concerned at how he would settle in as I wasn’t able to enter the building etc. However, my concerns were quickly alleviated; he loves his time at the nursery and the relationships he has formed with both the adults
and children are wonderful, there’s no doubt that the staff care for the children and do their upmost to support their academic and social development. His speech has come on a great deal and I love the range of activities the children engage in from the outdoor space, to baking, art and crafts and dance lessons to name but a few. A fantastic environment and space for little ones to grow and develop.

Excellent nursery my son loved his time there before pre-school. The staff were fantastic and it was a great nurturing atmosphere for children to develop. The variety of activities both indoor and outdoor each day was fantastic! My son would run in every day.

Highfield Priory Nursery and School, Preston offers a wonderful, personal and caring environment for my child. He loves going to nursery school. Every day he comes home and says "I have fun at my school Mum" with his little group of friends. They do lots of indoors and outdoor activities and he especially
enjoys their adventure walks in the woods and watching the birds. The nursery staff are professional and are so supportive with his development - he started nursery when he was nine months and is now three years old. My child is confident and expressive.

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was 2. The nursery has been fantastic, and she absolutely loves it. I can’t fault anything, she loves the teachers and all the activities on offer. I only wish I had sent her sooner.

Forest school activities are a great addition to the provision.

My son first started Highfield at 6 months old ... I was so worried leaving him so young, the nursery has been nothing but amazing as my son is now 3 years and 4 months old. He has come on leaps and bounds ever since he started Highfield, the teachers are all exceptional and he speaks about all of them
and how fun his day was every time he arrives home! Thank you Highfield I highly recommend you to anybody wanting a perfect nursery for their child.

My child has been attending the Nursery since January this year and the staff, facilities and care have been nothing but fantastic. My daughter settled straight away and is always happy to be dropped off with her keyperson Miss Kidd, who she loves. The Nursery is so stimulating and always something
different happening every session she is in which we get to see on the emailed weekly reports.

Our daughter enjoys her time at Highfield Priory Preschool very much. She developed great relationships with her teachers and other staff members and had very caring support during her transition from nursery to preschool. She shows great interest in the versatile activities that are offered to her
and has developed a lot in her time at Highfield Priory.
The ratio of staff to pupils seems to be at times very low, which seems to have an effect on the supervision the children receive at preschool. Besides this I would fully recommend this school as our daughter loves going here and shows great skills that favour her future development.

Staff are amazing, really feels like home from home for my daughters. Having had a few difficulties with times and dates they are always trying to help. I don't know that I'd do without the nursery staff. They are outstanding!
