Little Achievers Urban Forest School Nursery is situated close to the heart of Preston city centre. The nursery can welcome up to 72 children. Each child has their own key carer who looks to ensure early years’ potential is achieved.

The nursery is split into 3 age ranges however the rooms can flow easily to aid transition for children when moving to new groups. Along with fully qualified childcare professionals, their nursery also has trained Forest School practitioners.

The aim of the friendly team of staff is to encourage children to confidently learn and develop, benefiting from a focus on key skills, such as numeracy, creativity literacy and curiosity.

Little Achievers Urban Forest School Nursery uses the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Years Childcare and Education, a philosophy that uses four key principles to focus on a child's natural development. The approach is both child-centred and directed, taking the philosophy that learning must make sense to the child in order to be effective and meaningful.

All nursery pre-school children are able to access their own forest school, where children experience accelerated learning in a unique environment developing new skills, communication, improved health and personal development through learning outdoors. This time spent in outdoor spaces and reflective practice develops a child's resilience and re-frames a child's own view of risk. Forest school is about a different way of learning, the ever-changing outdoors, the passage of time, the changes in seasons, nature, different sources of smells and textures. The ever-changing environment can stimulate learning in a very different environment.

The nursery holds the coveted NDNA E-Quality award for providing high-quality childcare and education (2016).

Since starting at Little Achievers, my son has come on in leaps and bounds. The difference in him is truly remarkable. At his previous nursery, he was described as an "unsocial" baby, which was incredibly disheartening to hear. But everything changed once he joined Little Achievers.
From day one, the
team made him feel safe, seen, and supported-especially a specific member of staff, who has had a huge impact on his development. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care have helped bring out the best in him. His confidence has grown, he's interacting happily with other children, and he comes home each day with new words and smiles.
It's clear the staff truly care and take time to understand each child's individual needs. We're beyond grateful to her and the whole team for helping our little boy thrive in ways we never imagined possible.
We highly recommend Little Achievers Urban Forest School Nursery to any parent looking for a nurturing, encouraging and professional environment for their child.

My daughters attend this nursery two days a week. They have so much fun here and always thrive. My daughter is autistic and they support her in every way and have been brilliant throughout the process. I can't fault them at all and they always go above and beyond for us.

Little Achievers School is a very good one. My daughter started a new life in the UK and this is my daughter's first nursery. Also, my other daughter is learning in school and they both are very happy when they come back from school to home.

The facilities are fantastic. The classrooms are bright, spacious, and spotless, filled with all sorts of educational and fun toys. The outdoor play area is safe and full of fun equipment, perfect for little explorers. It's obvious that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that's both welcoming
and great for learning. We love the way Little Achievers balances structured learning with free play. The daily activities are always varied and engaging, from arts and crafts to music and storytelling. Our child looks forward to going every day and always comes home excited to share what they've done.
Communication with parents is spot on. We get regular updates, photos, and detailed reports on our child's progress, which helps us feel connected to their day-to-day experiences.

I have 2 children who have been here since age 2 and they're both now in the pre-school. We have recently received an ASD diagnosis for my eldest child and I couldn't praise the nursery enough for all of their support during the process. She also wears a hearing aid which again, the staff have taken
it upon them to learn how to use it and support her within the nursery. The children absolutely love attending nursery, their favourites being going swimming and forest school. They're such a welcoming team, so hands-on with the children and my girls don't stop talking about them when at home and I love seeing on the app all of the wonderful things they get up to. I'd highly recommend them.
Rated food as N/A as my fussy kids have packed lunches!

My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery! She has attended Little Achievers Urban Forest School since being in the baby room as is due to leave for school in September. She has amazing relationships with all the staff members. They have recently just helped my daughter overcome her fear of the
potty and have been nothing but patient with her throughout this time. I could not fault them and would recommend 100% to other parents.

My daughter loves coming into nursery.
She really enjoys the outdoor play. I'm extremely happy with the halal food option.
The staff are extremely friendly, polite and keep me up to date about her day via the app and in person.
I'm also delighted that my daughter has swimming lessons via this nursery.

I am very happy with how all the staff look after my daughter. The staff are never too busy to take my calls and answer emails.
I can tell my daughter feels very happy and secure with the staff and as a parent that is all I could ask for.

My little girl has come on leaps and bounds since starting at Little Achievers Preston. The staff go above and beyond for my little girl and have helped massively with a recent family bereavement, they have been very accommodating at a very stressful/upsetting time.
The imagination that goes into artwork/activities
is outstanding.
The last-minute walks to the park and library are a nice surprise to see and I'm very happy with my choice of childcare for my daughter.

Absolutely nothing negative to say about Little Achievers, amazing staff, very professional, my daughter has been coming for 2 years and never once had any problems. She absolutely loves coming in the mornings, always greeted with smiles and cuddles.
Most of the time never wants to leave.
She has
learned so much since coming.
I wouldn't send her anywhere else.

I would have gladly left a 4-star review if things were followed through or the plans put into place correctly and followed through which they weren’t.
My son attended Little Achievers from September 2021, between September 21 - January 2023 he had a good experience and enjoyed attending nursery.
I
did from day one make them aware and raise my concerns for my son’s behaviour needs.
Because this behaviour wasn’t displayed in nursery, I wasn’t listened to until March time 2023 when my child started to display these behaviours I had raised months and months before.
As far as the nursery is concerned it’s a nice little environment for children but SEN kid's needs are not managed well or taken into consideration - plans that were said would be put into place wasn't and weren’t followed through with.
My son was failed massively at this nursery and no transition to school!
He’s now on his way to a specialist school with EHC since being away from here. Staff was OK until March 2023.

A wonderful, welcoming nursery with a warm feeling throughout. The staff are very attentive and kind and you truly get the feel that they care for your child like one of their own. It's important as a parent that when you collect your child from nursery at the end of the day, they come away from nursery
with a smile on their face. What's even more important is that they go into the nursery with a smile too, happy to be there, as my little boy is. I was initially extremely anxious to leave my son with a stranger but now I worry no more as I know he is in the very best hands. We are eternally grateful to Little Achievers.

Hello, I am Gina and I have worked for Little Achievers Urban Forest School since September 2015. I have completed my BA Honours Degree in Children, School and Their Families. I have worked myself up through the years from Early Years Educator to Nursery Lead.


I have loved watching children learn, develop and grow throughout the years. I am also Level 3 qualified in Forest school and enjoy planning activities for the children to help them develop their life skills.


In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my family and friends. I also enjoy going on family fun days with my niece.
