The staff at The Stables Nursery are wonderful, caring and clearly love what they do. Our daughter has been with them since she was 13-weeks-old, and we see weekly how the team are nurturing her development. Even better is how they keep us updated on both her development and also how much fun she has.
Food and nutrition, activities, planned events and more are all at the highest level. There is always something to get involved in.


Anyone considering a nursery for their children should look no further!

This is our third nursery and we couldn't be happier and wish we'd found it sooner. Our daughter is very happy and gets excited when we tell her its nursery day. The staff are incredibly kind and go above and beyond to make our child feel happy and that extends to us as parents who are made to feel
extremely welcome. The setting is wonderful and everything is kept fresh and up to date to provide a lovely clean and fresh environment for the children to learn and play. Overall I don't think you could find a nicer bunch of people and a wonderful place for your child start their learning journey.

My son goes here, the staff are brilliant. Within a year his speech and imagination has improved so much. Staff are supportive and deal with things there and then. We visited many other nurseries before choosing this one and we definitely made the right choice

Absolutely love everything about Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nursery School. We have both of our boys here.
My eldest is set to start Primary School in September. Everyone has worked really hard to make sure he’s ready for his next big steps!
Our youngest is in toddlers and has made some lovely
friends already and has excellent support from all of the practitioners in his room.
Every member of the team is always so warm and welcoming every single day and do all they can to make sure that the children’s nursery journey is special, in every way.

I cannot recommend Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nursery School enough, it is a fantastic nursery with amazing staff. Everyone is so friendly and they can not do enough for the children that attend. My daughter absolutely loves going and looks forward to nursery days.
She has made so many friends
and has learnt so much. We are going to be sad when we leave in September as we really will miss everyone.

My little boy has been attending this nursery since he was a baby and I cannot recommend them enough. He has become a little character that I am so proud of and I can only thank all of the team at Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nursery School for their contribution to this. He loves going to nursery
and just recently is thriving in his development in the reception room. I was worried that he would struggle with the change when he goes to school but Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nurser School have helped him with everything I was worried about and now he is more than ready to take on the world. I am going to miss the stories he tells me about time spent with his friends, including the staff members that he has really close bonds with. If we had another baby I would not hesitate in bringing them to this nursery as I am really going to miss it in September.

The most wonderful nursery with such lovely staff. They are all so warm and we have felt part of the nursery family from the moment my eldest son started. The staff cannot do enough for you and are extremely accommodating of the needs of each individual child. My son failed to settle at other nurseries
but there was no question this one was the right choice and we have never looked back. It is so reassuring to know my boys are somewhere where they are so well stimulated, cared for and that they feel so safe and happy there. My three year old often asks to go in on his day off! Would recommend in a heartbeat!

When looking for a nursery for my little boy last year we visited a few but when I walked into Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nursery School I knew straight away that I had found the perfect nursery for my son. From the welcoming staff, to their organisation to get him started was fantastic. My little
one then started in the baby room and settled really well, he would get excited even when we were just parking the car in the car park. He thrived in the baby room and developed so much within such a short space of time. From his language skills and physical development, his growth and development has been fantastic. Then he moved to the the toddler room where he has continued to be nurtured and is thriving. He is superbly looked after and makes a worried parent as I am at ease. All the staff are incredible and work so hard to ensure that not just my baby boy is well cared for but also keep us as parents very informed. I love reading the updates of what he’s up to. Evolution Childcare @ The Stables Nursery School was a perfect choice for my little one.

My son is currently in the toddler room, the girls are fantastic great communication and I know my child enjoys his stay. The famly app used is very useful for keepsakes and updates (photos and observations etc). I chose this nursery because it is very welcoming and has great opportunities for the children.
(I visited 7 around the area and this nursery felt right!) I am very happy I found this setting.

This is a wonderful nursery! Incredibly dedicated staff who cultivate a great family atmosphere. It’s clear they always take time, thought and make a significant effort to make every day special and warm for all the children at the nursery. There are always lots of great activities planned every month
and they go the extra mile for a hauntingly happy Halloween with everyone dressing up and playing games and an especially magical Christmas with visits from Mrs Claus herself! They’re incredibly understanding, flexible and lovely friendly people. Couldn’t be happier that the kids are in a great place they enjoy being at with all their friends.

My first child has graduated this year from Evolution Childcare @ The Stables nursery. In the care of The Stables, she has grown in confidence and has found the transition into school very easy. At The Stables, they cherished her as an individual, often catering directly to her personal interests and
every member of staff showed an interest in and an affection for her. She made amazing friends, and I miss her little crew. She learned to work as a group, share, be creative and eat a very varied diet made by the excellent chef! They make time for every child at The Stables and I have always been confident in the kindness and ability of the staff there, which makes my working day that much easier knowing she is in such a brilliant environment with such caring people.
My overall feeling when she graduated was one of relief that I have another child in Toddlers, also being very much cherished as the individual she is, and I don’t have to say goodbye to the manager and the team just yet.

I absolutely love this nursery and so does my little girl, I love where it is situated, the layout and every single wonderful person who works there.


I have changed jobs whilst Mm daughter has been here and the Evolution Childcare @ The
Stables have been so accommodating to my new shift pattern.


My daughter really struggled at first being away from me at first but soon settled with all the extra support from the girls.

My little boy loves this nursery, they have made him feel so welcome and already in such a short amount of time he has come on leaps and bounds! The staff are so friendly and are all amazing with the children. The facilities are set in a gorgeous building with so much outdoor space for the children
to play, my boy loves playing outside so this was a must for us. I couldn’t recommend Evolution Childcare @ The Stables enough to any parents looking for a nursery for their little one.

My grandson moved to this Nursery and has been here for over a year now, I cannot believe the difference in him. Each time I have been to collect him, I have always been made to feel very welcome by the staff and cannot praise them enough. When I collect my grandson he doesn't always want to leave as
he is having so much fun. The things he comes home and tells me about his day is unbelievable and makes me so proud. This is all down to the time and effort each staff member puts into their role. I would highly recommend this Nursery its the best.

The Stables Nursery makes you feel part of their family. It's a fantastic facility and I'm very fussy. The staff always put my mind at rest and I love them all. My little girl has been attending this nursery since she was 9 months old, she is nearly 3 and loves her 2 days a week here. The staff are all brilliant, can't do enough to help with any questions and my little girl always leaves excited to tell me about her adventures throughout the day. I would 100%

Shannon Downs

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

I began my career in childcare by completing my Level 3 qualification in 2015 during my time at college. I joined Evolution Childcare in June 2016 at the Stables site, where I first worked in the Toddler Room. In 2019, I was promoted to Room Manager in the Early Learners Room, a role that allowed me to support all rooms across the nursery and continue developing my skills through extensive in-house and online training.


In April 2021, I transitioned to our sister nursery, The Abbey, where I continued to grow professionally while working alongside a wide range of colleagues and teams. In October 2024, I applied for the Assistant Manager position at the Stables and was delighted to return to the nursery where my Evolution journey began.


Throughout my time with Evolution Childcare, I have received strong support and guidance from management and have taken on several additional responsibilities, including Health and Safety Officer, Events Lead, and SENDCo. These roles have strengthened my understanding of nursery operations and deepened my commitment to inclusive, high-quality practice.


Most recently, I have been promoted to Nursery Manager at the Stables. I am proud to continue my journey here and look forward to leading the team, supporting our families, and contributing to the positive experiences and development of the children in our care.
