Playmates Day Nursery have been great. Not having any children previously at the nursery, we were unsure what to expect as we had only viewed the nursery beforehand.
From the off, all of the staff seemed friendly, approachable and welcoming. Our son started Playmates in the caterpillar room at the
age of 9 months. The care he has received has been excellent. Our son is now two and a half years of age. His learning and development and social skills are brilliant. He loves nursery and all the friends he has made along the way.

My son had attended a previous nursery for 2 years but due to relocating we joined Playmates in April last year. I was apprehensive at moving my son as his old nursery was all he had known but he has settled in so well and loves the nursery and all the staff. The staff are a credit to the nursery and
always kept me informed as to how he was settling in and getting on. My son loves attending the nursery and has great relationships with teachers and other children. There is good communication between staff and parents and any concerns and queries are addressed. I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents.

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since being at nursery, staff are lovely and helpful and my child gets so excited to go to nursery, they involve her in plenty of activities and she continues to surprise me with how quickly she is developing. This is down to the staff at the nursery.

A fantastic nursery! The staff are so friendly and caring. It was clear why so many of my friends recommended Playmates. As soon as we walked through the door we knew it was where our children would be best nurtured once my maternity leave was over.

Great forward-looking nursery using the latest pedagogy to help stimulate the children's minds, they are well looked after my little boy is very happy there, they have also been very flexible with the free hours and allowing us term time only.

Could do with more parking spaces.

This nursery/pre-school is a joy to drop both my girls off at. They are warm, welcoming and attentive to my girl's needs. My oldest daughter has been in the nursery for over 1 1/2 now and she had a great rapport with all staff. The layout and environment of which the children play and learn in is very
natural and allows the children to express their individuality and explore their own interests as they please.
I am very pleased with the communication between the staff and myself in all aspects and feel my children are enriched with happiness within a safe surrounding. The nursery/pre school are fantastic at giving my children the correct tools, support and encouragement in order for them to grow and develop whilst enjoying themselves.
Both girls are happy and excited to go into the nursery and pre/school, which shows me they look forward to their days there and supports my feelings that the environment of which they are in is positive and successful in the service that they are providing.

The nursery looks good the way its been done but looks aren't everything. All staff work really hard and look after the best interests of the child, they are always really busy. The new manager of the nursery is good and works very hard and clearly goes out of her way to lead staff in a friendly and
fair way along with new ideas and ways for children to reach their full potential. I am happy with my son's progress and the way all staff take care of him, with good communication from them all and any problems they listen and take on board.

My child has only just started here after becoming unhappy at a previous nursery. The difference in just 2 weeks. Settled in so quickly and is very happy here. Extremely excited and chatty telling me about their day and what done with friends. Staff friendly and helpful, lots of resources and children
encouraged.

My son spent a year at Playmates and I couldn't have wished for a better 1st experience of nursery life for him. He was very shy when he first started but with the help and encouragement from his lovely key people, he quickly came out of his shell and his communication skills got a lot better. He made
lovely bonds with his key people who would go above and beyond to encourage his learning. The staff were always happy to stop and talk about his day during pickups, telling me about the various activities he had done and any new achievements he had made. I would get daily updates about his learning through his learning journal, as well as occasional picture messages letting me know how he was, if he was settled and what he had been up to that morning. It was very reassuring to know he was settled and happy, enjoying his day and making new friends. The staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming and I couldn't recommend the nursery enough.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.421)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.421) out of 10 for Wilmere Lane Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Wilmere Lane Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.477 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wilmere Lane Nursery School is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 number of registered child places is 15.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.6 = 0.577
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
