I'm so grateful for all of the educational and fun activities my two boys take part in daily at The House of Rompa. They have built up their confidence around other children and adults, are challenged with problem-solving tasks, and love every minute.
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing them run
through the door for a healthy breakfast.

My daughter is my second child to attend House of Rompa and in short, she loves it...as do we! After the craziness of 2020, I was expecting my daughter to find the transition to nursery very daunting having done very little in the way of socialisation and the experience of baby classes etc. I did not
need to worry - after only a week she was reaching out for the team as they greeted us at the door she now happily walks into nursery herself and can't wait to get in there. This is only a small thing but such a huge testament to the feeling of family, fun and happiness that you get at House of Rompa. I can't recommend them enough.

Our children receive an excellent standard of care at House of Rompa Day Nursery. The staff are excellent; caring, warm, friendly and professional. They learn a huge amount in the time they are there and clearly have a lot of fun. The facilities are great, especially the home-cooked food which both
my children love and regularly have seconds. We are very appreciative of everything they do and recommend the nursery to everyone.

Our little one started here during the pandemic when I returned to work. Due to the climate, she had not been socialised with any other children. All the staff were excellent, especially her key person in the baby room and she settled in immediately. Now, she runs in in the morning and has a great day
every day she is there. Her development has been amazing whilst she has been attending the nursery and we could not be happier.

The staff at House of Rompa have been a sterling example of what commitment, care and love is about. Our baby has settled in beautifully and it feels like a family. We live in crazy times at the moment and the staff are the forgotten heroes of the pandemic. They teach amazingly, encourage your child
and within their comfort zone have a good balance of play indoors and outdoors. They make learning fun. They respect your wishes as a parent and keep contact with you. The updates at the end of the day are extremely helpful. This shows they are committed and are observant and engaged with your child. Thank you to them for being proactive, determined and caring. The resources are wonderful and the food is very good, nice and fresh. Highly recommend to all.

An absolutely exceptional nursery. It is a joy to leave my son in the care of the House of Rompa Day Nursery staff. They are friendly and loving towards my son and nothing is ever too much trouble. They genuinely care about my son which is a wonderful thing. I have complete peace of mind that my son
is in their care. They arrange activities every day and the food is home-made and delicious. We could not be happier with the nursery.

Our 4-year-old and 1-year-old were made to feel so welcome when they started at House of Rompa having moved from a different nursery 9-months ago and the staff at House of Rompa really helped them settle in and ensured a smooth transition. We have found it to be a fantastic nursery, the children run
through the door in the morning smiling without looking back. The freshly cooked meals are a huge bonus, and we have complete confidence in the children having just the right care for them as individuals. We would recommend the House of Rompa to anyone.

Our little girl started at House of Rompa on 1 July and we couldn’t be happier, she has settled in so well and come on so much! The staff are wonderful: they’re so welcoming and every day greet us with open arms. The food is all freshly cooked and there’s a real emphasis on healthy eating which is a
huge plus. The nursery is spotless and has a lovely outdoor space. We’re yet to use the babysitting service however this is something we’re definitely considering in the near future - our little girl knows the staff now and we trust them implicitly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend House of Rompa to friends (in fact we already have).

We moved our little boy to House of Rompa recently after he struggled to settle at another nursery. As soon as we arrived for our first visit, we could tell that the nursery felt so homely and that all the children there seemed so happy and cared for. Since he has started the staff could not have done
more to put us at ease and we are now so glad that we moved him as he is so settled there and has come on so much. We are expecting another baby any time now and we are so grateful to the staff for helping him to settle and feel so comfortable and secure at nursery before everything changes at home. After a few weeks, we received a report to show where he was at and showed how well the staff know him already. The activities and toys are great, the staff are super friendly and enthusiastic and the meals that they provide are super varied and healthy. We couldn't be happier that we chose this nursery and can't recommend it enough. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

We are so happy that we chose House of Rompa for our little boy. From day one he settled in amazingly well and I truly think that is down to the incredible team there and how warm and welcoming they are. I felt at ease the first time I dropped him off for his settling in session. The nursery staff are
caring and their enthusiasm and commitment to the children shines through. The meals served are fantastic and varied as are the activities and development plans put in place. We have noticed a change in our little boy's speech and gestures which is fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending House of Rompa to my friends and family. To me it is a home from home for your little ones, safe and nurturing whilst allowing them to have lots of fun.

I am glad I’ve chosen House of Rompa as a nursery for my baby.
She started when she was ten months old and I was worried it was too soon for her being in a nursery. Now she is thirteen months and she is very happy baby.
The staff is very friendly, professional and well trained. They take good care
of her and work in the development of relevant areas such as language, self-confidence or reading.
There is very good communication between us and we are well informed of her daily activities. They offer a good range of healthy food and well-balanced meals.
The installations are well maintained, they are always clean and tidy. I highly recommend House of Rompa.

By far the best around. I have visited several nurseries in the area and The House of Rompa is the cream of the crop.
In the five months that my daughter has been attending, I have seen fundamental changes in development from her ever-expanding palate, her dexterity with key skills, to her confidence.
The staff are incredible and the nursery runs like a well oiled machine.
I rest easily knowing that my daughter is in the best possible hands whilst I’m at work. The safeguarding policies are second to none and the staff are adequately training in life supports.
Hats off to all of the staff.

Whilst attending House of Rompa, my granddaughter has come on leaps and bounds. Her communication skills are brilliant, she has learnt her letters, numbers, colours and the staff were extremely helpful with potty training. When staying with me, she likes to play nursery and tells me all about the jigsaw
and games she plays. She was a bit of a fussy eater but since starting nursery and sitting with the other children she now enjoys a wide variety of food. I also love my paintings and drawings I get off her. She also likes to tell me about the trips to the shops and the library. I would highly recommend House of Rompa to anyone looking for a nursery for their child.

Since my son has started, he has settled really quickly. The staff have been extremely helpful and have gone that extra mile to help reassure me. They always answer the phone. As a mother, I have felt at ease putting my children into House of Rompa allowing me to fulfil my role at work too knowing the children
are happy, being fed very and learning too. That's quite a package!!

Our daughter started at House of Rompa a couple of months ago and I cannot praise the nursery highly enough. Our little girl has settled well, she is enjoying delicious meals (having refused to eat at home!) and is learning new skills every day. The facilities are great - with a lovely baby room and
outside space - but it is the caring approach of the team at House of Rompa that really makes the difference. Just brilliant!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.965) out of 10 for House of Rompa Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.965 for House of Rompa Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (475 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 492 Ratings = 4.965
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for House of Rompa Day Nursery is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 number of registered child places is 8, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

I began my childcare career back in 2005, working in a nursery as a Qualified Early Years Educator. After working extremely hard, I was promoted to nursery manager and over the past 21 years, my passion and love for my job have grown too. I joined the House of Rompa in January 2024, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. As well as managing a nursery to the best of my abilities, the welfare and education of the children are paramount to me, ensuring that each one of them is given the best start in not just their education, but in their lives too. This was seen in our latest Ofsted report in January 2025, and I am so pleased to say that we are ‘OUTSTANDING!’ A huge achievement in my childcare career was being one of six finalists in the county to be nominated for Nursery Manager of the Year 2021. I have always said, it’s so heart-warming to know that the emphasis I place on ensuring the children are cared for, thrive in their environment, become confident individuals, learn to the best of their abilities, are taught through the best practice and by also making sure that each and every one of them is ready for their next adventure at school is recognised by others; this will always be imperative to me.
