Overall Experience

House of Rompa is a lovely small nursery providing very personal and individual care for each child. All members of staff know each child and the children are comfortable with all the staff, which makes transitions between rooms much easier for them. My daughter is always coming home excited to tell me what she has learnt at the nursery. I feel very happy knowing that my daughter is safe and well looked after when she is in the nursery.

Overall Experience

House of Rompa Day Nursery is a small, caring nursery with a real family feel to it. All of the children are treated as individuals within that family, with their own characters celebrated and respected. The policies have been thought out and are understood by all staff and families. Everything is clear and thus it runs extremely efficiently. The nursery works around each child's needs and abilities rather than expecting the children to slot into and unreasonable one-size-fits-all regime. I always feel like my daughter is safer in nursery than anywhere else.

Amy Salt Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024
Amy Salt

I began my childcare career back in 2005, working in a nursery as a Qualified Early Years Educator. After working extremely hard, I was promoted to nursery manager and over the past 21 years, my passion and love for my job have grown too. I joined the House of Rompa in January 2024, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. As well as managing a nursery to the best of my abilities, the welfare and education of the children are paramount to me, ensuring that each one of them is given the best start in not just their education, but in their lives too. This was seen in our latest Ofsted report in January 2025, and I am so pleased to say that we are ‘OUTSTANDING!’ A huge achievement in my childcare career was being one of six finalists in the county to be nominated for Nursery Manager of the Year 2021. I have always said, it’s so heart-warming to know that the emphasis I place on ensuring the children are cared for, thrive in their environment, become confident individuals, learn to the best of their abilities, are taught through the best practice and by also making sure that each and every one of them is ready for their next adventure at school is recognised by others; this will always be imperative to me.
