S4YC @ Hooton Day Nursery is set in a converted Victorian farmhouse that provides an excellent interior and surroundings for children to learn and play together and independently.

The nursery aims to offer a home-from-home environment that stimulates learning potential and creates an atmosphere where every child feels secure, valued and confident.

A huge south-facing rear garden and ample parking make up the grounds, while the nursery's owners are very security conscious, with CCTV and a door entry system.

Children are cared for by experienced long-serving professionals, giving parents further peace of mind.

Outstanding nursery, my son really enjoys his days here and I couldn't recommended any higher. My son has learnt a lot being here and appears to be having a really nice time during his sessions here.

Both of our daughters have been excellently cared for at Hooton for a total of 6 years, all of the staff are brilliant and we are going to be sad to say goodbye! The facilities are great and offer care from a few months of up to pre school.

I am an anxious parent, and I worry (over dramatically) about my son. The staff at Hooton are brilliant, and I have had no worries or concerns about his care. Communication is excellent, his key worker and the staff know him so well, and I implicitly trust them with my son.
Could not recommend any
more highly - what a great, safe and reassuring environment to to send my child into.

We're very happy with this nursery. The staff are caring and attentive. Always come with a smile. Our daughter settled so well with so much support in such a short amount of time. She learns a lot, enjoys the routines and especially loves playing outside. She always comes home happy after having lots
of fun. Thank you for looking after her in a amazing way!

My little girl has come here for 10 months now and she absolutely loves coming, she gets so excited seeing the building let alone the lovely staff! They were amazing settling her in and have been so warm and welcoming every single day since! She has developed so so much and I love the daily photos,
updates and monthly achievements and targets! She adores the outdoor area and they tend to spend most of the day outside when it's nice! The meals she eats are always varied and nourishing and she eats so much in nursery! Jo the manager is fantastic and will always help with booking extra days or last minute early starts! Cannot thank the girls enough for being so amazing with my daughter!

Our eldest daughter started here in the baby room and is now in the toddler room. I can honestly say that choosing this nursery has been one of the best decisions we've made. Initially, it was for convenience due to our work locations and having grandparents nearby in case of emergencies, but we've
been so impressed with how much she has developed-and that's all thanks to the incredible staff.
So, when we found out we were expecting another little girl, it was an easy decision about where she would go. Our youngest has now started in the baby room and will soon be moving up to the tweenie room.
What we love most is how the staff take the time to truly get to know each child. That personal approach makes such a difference.
Both of our girls are so happy here, and we couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough.

We couldn't recommend Hooton Day Nursery enough, our son has been attending for 7 months and we couldn't fault them. The staff are attentive, supportive, friendly and so caring, you can tell they enjoy what they do.

Our son has allergies and they are great with this. They know his needs and wants

and do whatever they can to ensure he is happy. I have to mention the staff in the baby room as they really are excellent, we receive regular updates and a summary of his day which we love to read.

I feel as though my sons development has improved since attending nursery and it made my return to work journey so much easier knowing he was being cared for so well.

We couldn't be happier and are so grateful to all the staff for looking after him so well. The rooms and facilities are lovely and we particularly love getting updates on his 'proud wall' each month.

Thank you so much to all the team, we are so grateful and appreciate you all!

Both my daughters have attended hooton nursery! My youngest is still there and will be for a couple of years.
They both have really enjoyed it, and the girls have always made them feel welcome and happy! My youngest is very settled and I've not had to have the crying episode yet and I feel that's
because she is happy and content with everyone! She even puts her arms out to them when we turn up! Appreciate the care and love they show towards them! Makes leaving your children for work a lot easier. You can tell everyone who works there really enjoy it and love being with the children. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone when they ask for a nursery option!
Thanks to everyone at Hooton for being so friendly and caring!

My child has been attending Hooton childcare since March 2025 in the toddler room. The staff were so welcoming and warm when we attended our look around and understood when my child was a little bit nervous to be somewhere new. They also helped me to understand the signing up process and all the adult
in-betweens which I truly appreciated as a clueless first timer. The ladies who look after this room are fantastic. They are attentive and supportive to the children. They've helped guide through potty training with us, build confidence and socialising massively since the beginning. My child has come a long way in the 8 months they've been attending and I am grateful for their aid. It's always nice to have a little natter at pick up time to find out what they have been up to, and a friendly catch up week upon week. I will be sad to say bye to Hooton for a school environment but I would happily recommend their services to any upcoming parents who are looking for a welcoming nursery.

Our little boy has been at Hooton Day Nursery since 2023 and he has moved up through Tweenies, Toddlers and Preschool where he currently sits as he prepares for Primary School in September 2026.

Jo and her team are the very best at what they do. Jo manages her team well and with 20+ years of experience

her care and devotion to the children and parents alike shines through.

The staff are always welcoming and care for the children in their charge. Our little boy has grown to be a very confident, smart funny little individual which has been nurtured and encouraged by the staff every day.

I always feel safe and confident that when I drop off I'm leaving my child in the very best hands and look forward to hearing all about their day.

Their use of he dojo app has been a great benefit as it keeps parents updated through the day and we look forward to updates and ohotos.

Our daughter loves coming to nursery. The girls are always so welcoming to her and settle her straight away! We have updates throughout the day which i personally love and when she first started this was something that helped me feel reassured in those earlier days. Shes come on leaps and bounds thanks
to the staff, from babies through to toddlers where she is now we've had nothing but an amazing experience. We love seeing her out in the garden and are so grateful for the big open space you have there. Would recommend hooton nursery to others!

My son recently started at Hooton S4YC and I've been completely blown away by how amazing they've been. And how quickly they've got him to settle in. The staff especially have really made me feel so at ease and it feels like they've gone above and beyond for my little boy.
So so happy and wanted to

Our daughter has been with Hooton Day Nursery since September 2023, from 11 months old, and attends twice a week and looks forward to going each time. Every drop off and pick up we are welcomed by friendly staff who are all so personable which is lovely! Communication is excellent and we are always
informed about how she's gotten on throughout the day. Receiving images on the app during the day with what she is up to is just lovely and gives reassurance that she's having a good time. Overall, we are so glad we picked this nursery for our daughter and wouldn't put her anywhere else. When we were viewing various nurseries, I loved how this one had a homely feel and instantly got a good feeling when we walked in. Her development has come on well and we can tell how comfortable and confident she is when we drop her off.
We looking forward to seeing her transition through each room as she gets older.

My son has been attending S4YC @ Hooton Day Nursery since he was 7 months old. I can’t fault all the girls here, they know my son inside out now. I wouldn’t want him to go anywhere else - the bond he has with the girls is great. Each room he has been in has been fantastic, he’s been welcomed and always
had a smooth transition. The staff give us a handover at the end of the day to what he has been up to and what he’s eaten. I enjoy receiving photos on the app throughout the day too.

Hooton Day Nursery is outstanding. Our little boy has been going since he was 11 months old, and he loves it. He’s now in the preschool room, and he comes home and tells us how much fun he’s had, about new activities he’s been up to and the friends he’s been playing with. All of the staff are lovely,
and he has been able to make special bonds with his key workers in each setting he’s been in. The one thing I thought the nursery was lacking was communication and daily updates (although you’d always get a handover on pick up); however, they have now introduced an app which has solved this issue, and I can now look forward to updates whilst he’s there. I would highly recommend the nursery.

Our daughter attends nursery once a week, and every week, we are welcomed by friendly staff, who are lovely with my little girl. They are very patient with both our little one and us, and we get a full rundown of her day at the end of every session. We wouldn’t want to take our daughter elsewhere! She
has come on so much, and you can see how much support she has from her nursery teachers, and they are always so proud to tell us how she’s got on! Whenever we are told about what she’s eaten that day, we are always happy with the choices.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.773)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.773) out of 10 for S4YC @ Hooton Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.964 for S4YC @ Hooton Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (160 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 166 Ratings = 4.964
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.809 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for S4YC @ Hooton Day Nursery is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 number of registered child places is 14.6. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.6 = 0.959
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
